Favorite holiday food: Aunt Maria's thanksgiving turkey. Tilda was never much of a cook, but at least she was self aware enough to leave the holiday cooking to her sister in law.
Favorite home food: chicken noodle soup. Its the only think Tilda ever taught him to cook. He also liked her fried chicken but she only made that on really special occasions.
Favorite outside food: bacon cheeseburger from the diner by the elementary school. Twice a month after practice the whole team went to eat. The burger itself was just okay, but now its his regular order wherever he goes.
Favorite dessert: used to be funnel cake, until the day he was eating some at the county fair and some cop started talking to him outta nowhere. Now its banana split.
Favorite Nicky food: he would swear Nicky uses crack when he makes pigs in a blanket except he knows what that tastes like and this isnt it. Nevertheless the plate is empty before it hits the table.
does anyone have headcanons for what aaron minyard's fav foods are?

I like to think Jeremy was an extremely big fan boy of Kayleigh day when he was younger. It's so funny because can you imagine your biggest inspiration's son turned out to be YOUR biggest fan?

As far as I remember the WaT flashbacks don't describe Szeth's hair in any level of detail at all, which is a bold move that all but ensured I was imagining this 11 year old as bald as the goddamn moon

I was gonna make a post about "what if humans went through neoteny like axolotls and we stayed in the body of teenagers for our whole lives"

but then I looked up Neoteny to make sure I understood it correctly and...

What the fuck?

So humans are just baby monkeys for our whole lives???

he’s on his way there already but just. loving the idea of jean becoming unrecognizable to the ravens who thought they knew him—him getting stronger and healthier in california so his build changes, so far removed from the nest that he has no injuries or bruising for the first time in their collective memory. him standing tall next to jeremy on the court, no longer slouched over to conceal an injury or to make himself less of a target. jean getting a haircut he likes that flatters his features and makes him feel good. him getting so much sun that he gets freckles in a way he hasn’t since he was a child, smiling and laughing with his friends on the sidelines of a game. if it weren’t for the tattoo they’d think he was an entirely different person, and he kind of is, free in a way he’s never been before, and it suits him so beautifully

Could the Wildbow Protags Survive Oculus (2013)
Spoilers for the film Oculus by Mike Flanagan under the cut!
Taylor Hebert: 4/10. The mirror eats the vitality of plant life and animals (including eating entire dogs off screen), and with how it influences perception, Taylor wouldn't even know that her swarm is vanishing. Her one saving grace is that she knows PRT Master-Stranger protocols and that her sensation filtered through her bugs MIGHT act similar enough to a lens that she might realize something is wrong. But that is a thin maybe at best.
Blake Thorburn: 6/10. Practitioner Sight and wards should allow for him to see the spirits around the Mirror and want to avoid being in its reflection. He has some experience with that due to fighting the Barber as well. As the Thorburn Bogeyman, he likely fights the Mirror's various souls inside the spirit realm, and the only reason I can't say he'd win is because it has a ton of dead souls to use as ways to attack him.
Sylvester Lambsbridge: 0/10. Suuuper dead. Mind and sensory altering evil Mirror against a devastatingly intelligent but unstable person who speaks to the manifested people inside his brain? At best, maybe Sylvester notices things not adding up subconsciously, but by that point the Mirror has already won and claimed him.
Victoria Dallon: 7/10. Her history of using Master-Stranger Protocols, Shard instinct, and noticing when she's being mastered is a huge boon for Victoria. Ditto if she just closes her eyes and lets the Fragile One smash the mirror. The big issue, however, is that a sentient haunted mirror is sooo outside her expertise. I don't doubt she'd realize she was being influenced, but the issue is that would she realize its the mirror?
LVA - 9/10. They lock that mirror the fuck up and throw away the key. Maybe just outright purify and destroy it for good measure. They have too many abilities to ward off manipulation, possession, and spirit fuckery. The sole point from a perfect score is that perhaps the Mirror is so powerful that it could potentially overpower any protections they pull up.
Mia/Carson/Gio/Natalie/Ben - 0/10. Bro these people are fucked.
Basil(A)/Winnie(Toby)/Orion - 9/10. You might be shocked, especially since SEEK has no magical or supernatural stuff, but hear me out. The one consistent thing we know about the Mirror is that it cannot full artificial lenses/cameras. It can only attack the natural senses. All of the protags have lenses due to Onboards (or are Onboards), meaning they would have protected sight. They can also access all the other senses to defend against the mirror. The big issue is again, determining that the mirror is the issue in the first place. Orion also would have issues since his Onboard is dumb and he needs to manually activate it's various defenses.

i actually get a bit annoyed with people who get a bit annoyed when people say “sorry” in response to their bad news. “why are you apologizing you didn’t do anything :/” like okay well a) you don’t know that and actually yes i am the secret architect of all your woes and have been this whole time, way to refuse to acknowledge a woman (gender neutral)’s accomplishments. and b) we’re both fluent english speakers so you know perfectly well that “sorry” isn’t always an apology and is very commonly used as an expression of general regret or sympathy. not in this case, because i have been your secret nemesis for years, meticulously plotting your every misery, but, like, in general

there's an alternate universe out there where jasnah really is a heretic and subscribes to some absolutely bizarre niche interpretation of vorinism which was sensibly banned by the church in 924 for being utterly fucking incomprehensible. and shallan is on her religious high horse not because she disapproves of atheism (in this scenario she has never encountered it) but because that interpretation of vorin doctrine is obviously wrong and what do you mean you think the stormfather and the almighty are one and the same. this is ridiculous. i'm robbing you now

I could go on forever but my point is that a lot of leftists hold this cognitively dissonant belief system that requires them to believe that no one would ever act selfishly or out of irrational hatred for others if only all their needs were met, while simultaneously blaming all the world's problems on a class of people who have all their needs met and yet continue to perpetuate harm. And in order to make these two discordant sets of beliefs work together, it requires believing that "The Rich" are fundamentally, genetically different than Normal Working People, and behave differently and more selfishly than Normal Working People do or would when given that same power. And when one starts believing that The Elites are fundamentally, secretly inhuman and different than Normal Working People, it always, always circles around to blaming The Jews.
