India gained independence 75 years ago, ever since then there has been steady progress found in the primary and secondary educational sector. Yet there have been several challenges lying in the way of not letting achieving the goals of universal education. The bottlenecks like limited arrangement of finance, infrastructure and dearth of quality teachers have been noticed. Very less percentage of GDP is spent on education and it is just 3%.
However, there are several non-profitable organizations coming up and bringing progressive changes which promise a bright future for the underprivileged children who are not getting the opportunity to go to school to study or dropping out in the mid-way.

Project Nanhi Kali had been started for helping underprivileged and yet meritorious girls to gain education. More than 4 lakhs underprivileged girls have been able to achieve academic success with the support of this NGO.
D) Udaan India Foundation: It is a Mumbai based organization which aims to improve the quality of life of underprivileged children through the path of education. Donations from the privileged section will help in recruiting the qualified, trained and experienced teachers for the benefit of the young children.
E)eVidyaloka: Another topmost NGO based in Bangalore which is reaching out to poor and underprivileged children for promoting and teaching different academic subjects through digital classrooms. More than 20000 children in 200 remote villages have benefitted from this NGO.
Overall, with the support of privileged sections of the society voluntarily or financially, we can easily move towards 100 % literacy rate and empower urban slums and rural Indians.
