a common misconception I hear is that, while Silver's cuffs in 06 are meant to be closed by default and only open when his powers are in use, they dont have any actual animation for it and are just model swaps/snaps. this is not the case!

not only are Silver's cuffs fully rigged in his in-game model

but you can actually see them open in-game in cutscenes, completely animated!

(scene slowed down for effect) its just that the camera moves so quickly that its hard to see!

(this is also why I draw Silver with his cuffs closed when his powers arent in use, and why theres the option to open and close them in my dress-up game <3)

no you have to contribute to your fandom if you don't want it to die. most fandoms die because people say 'it's so sad watching the fandom die when the hype dies' without doing anything about it. I'm not saying you have to push out 100k word slow-burn fic, I'm not saying you have to make fan art or gif sets or edits or anything. I'm just saying we as a community should contribute to our fandom if we don't want it to die, and by contributing, I'm talking about giving kudos, commenting on your favorite fics, reblogging your favorite art and just talking about your favorite characters. that's enough to keep a fandom alive. that's the most effective way to keep a fandom alive in my humble opinion.

fandoms die because people stop talking about it, fandoms die because people stop engaging with fan content once the hype is gone. what I'm saying is, mainstream media's hype may be gone, but our fandom can stay alive and thriving if us as a community don't let it die.

whenever i see stuff abt "we need more tails and sonic dynamic where they're SIBLINGS!" and it's just them being rude to each other i get so sad. they do NOT talk to each other like that!!

sometimes they tease, yeah, BUT:

sonic knows better than anyone that tails is still a child, that he's been through a lot (and thus has some particularly sensitive spots,) and the usually brusque/brash sonic very clearly adopts a softer tone with his lil bro! he's also willing to slow down and (gasp) take care of himself a little better for tails' sake. we also see he gets pretty protective of him...

he has absolutely no problem indulging tails' interests and needs!! sonic thinks tails is adorable!! sonic thinks tails is incredible!!

and TAILS thinks his brother is the coolest thing in the world!! he wants to emulate and be more like him! so while he's inherited some of sonic's attitude (and he's earned the right to use it) he would NOTTT just. straight up insult sonic to his face, much less mean it. don't forget that tails canonically thinks this blue energy rat is incredibly cool

why would u want to make this relationship into a stereotype? they're not typical brothers, they formed this special unbreakable bond themselves!! its unique! its built off of understanding and perfect synchrony!! fundamentally it is sonic gently taking tails in and showing him kindness for the first time, and tails striving every day to emulate his hero! there's no want, no need, and no room for needless cruelty!

Longclaw the Owl and her place in the Sonic the hedgehog lore.

The Sonic Movie has been an absolute blast! There is a lot to talk about and analyze, and I think there’s no better place to start than the very beggining.

We don’t spend a lot of time on South Island (mostly due to budget limitations, according to the writers) but it is quite interesting! My favourite aspect of this intro is how it builds new lore out of stuff from the game most of us haven’t paid much attention to.

(I want to point out this discovery was made by “The Great Lange” on Twitter. It’s not the first time I see this being discussed but it inspired this analysis. Also confirmation by Tyson Hesse that it’s 100% intentional)
