Alex Roediger's Etsy Store | Nature and art are the most nurturing and calming parts of my life so I'm always drawn towards painting the many beautiful places I visit. I typically paint in one sitting, working quickly and predominantly with a palette knife, applying thick impasto paint on wood panels in an effort to mimic the strength and confidence I find when I'm out in nature. I usually work from my studio in Brooklyn, inspired by photos I've taken around New York City, upstate NY (where I grew up) and other areas of the U.S. and Europe where I've recently visited. I graduated with a BA in painting from Pratt Institute and currently work at The Museum of Modern Art.
