Fandom: Detroit Become Human
Chapter Word Count: 3462
Chapter Description: Our look into Connor's road to acceptance and recovery comes to a close. That doesn't mean it isn't still a work in progress. Connor goes to therapy and Sumo gets so many pets.
Note: This is it! the final chapter! it only took me like.... six months to write and upload it. If this chapter "feels" different than the others that is probably why. I'm so grateful to everyone that took the time to read this, and to all of you who commented and subscribed and bookmarked and kudo'd! it really does mean a lot to me, especially since this is one of the first things I've published in a long time, not to mention my first multichapter fic. Thank you all so much for reading. I'll be linking to my socials at the end of the chapter, and I do hope you'll consider giving me a follow to see what comes next with my writing :) Enjoy

TO THOSE MAKING NATIVE OCS
I see this a lot, no one has actual names, or any reference for names, that are legit Native American, varying among the tribes, for their characters.
Babynames.com and shit like that will give you names made up by white people.
However, I’ve got your solution.
Native-Languages is a good website to turn to for knowledge on a lot of native things, including native names. If you’re unsure about the names you’ve picked, they even have a list of made up names here!
Please don’t trust names like babynames.com for native names, they’re made up and often quite offensive to the cultures themselves.

Your main concern with grammar in fiction should be, does it make sense to the reader upon first pass-through. You can have sentence fragments. Half-formed thoughts. Periods where normally there would be question marks. You can throw out many of the rules you learned in school. But that only works if the writing can still be understood without question and without unintended ambiguity.

Hey all! I’ve been assigned an argumentative essay for my writing 105 class, and my topic is fanfiction and the community around it, and it’s legitimacy as a genre…
Basically long story short this is a survey for anyone who has any interest in fanfiction! It’ll be really useful for me, and if people seem interested I might release the results as a big fun ol’ chart… Even if you don’t feel like doing it or can’t, I’d really appreciate a reblog so it gets spread around more!

So far, I’ve gotten 82 responses! I’m really hoping for at least 100, so even a simple reblog could help me out!! Thank you so much to anyone’s who’s already taken it, too.

so idk if anyone knows about this, but i was looking for text readers that you didn’t have to download and found this awesome website where you can paste your text and it reads it out loud for you in a normal voice, not one of the choppy computer ones. and it’s free.
you can adjust your speed from slow, normal, or fast and it seems to take pretty long documents. you can also pause and play it or go back whenever. for additional measure it even highlights the phrases it’s reading so you can follow along. maybe a lot of ppl already know about it but sharing just in case!

Tips for fight scenes
If you get punched in the nose your eyes will water, a lot, even if it didn’t really hurt
Your body follows your head, your head gets pushed one way and your body will want to go that way
Getting hit in the stomach isn’t good, it hurts, getting hit in the diaphragm is worse. Causes your lungs to kinda spasm and make it hard to breathe (diaphragm is between stomach and chest)
When fighting a larger person they will have an easier time forcing you back
The jaw is the knockout button. Hit it hard enough and down for the count
Back of the head is very vulnerable, can cause serious damage if hit there
Kidney punches. They hurt. A lot.
People with experience will try to be where they are comfortable. A wrestler will try to get their opponent on the ground, a boxer will stay on their feet, etc.
Easiest counter to a kick is to get closer to whoever is throwing it, then they won’t have enough room for it to be effective
If you want realism, avoid fancy, flashy moves. They’re less practical and easier to counter.

You know what I don’t get? When fanfic authors apologize for long chapters. It’s like? You gave me bonus content, for free, and you’re sorry about it? Bruh. I have already named my firstborn after you. Dude.

Telling people not to follow minors because they’re not skilled writers is the silliest thing ever. My first writing competition was when I was 15. Are you all okay? Being in your 20’s, 30’s and 40+ doesn’t guarantee perfection in writing craft. Stop telling kids they’re not old enough to be creative because imagination isn’t about age neither is the craft.
