I have a class project and part of it is adding to the public discourse on Appalachia, so join me for a little jaunt into the world of the Appalachian trail and the indigenous people who lived there (and how to learn more about them).

According to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, “The Appalachian Trail runs through 22 Native Nations’ traditional territories and holds an abundant amount of Indigenous American history”. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is one of the main organizations responsible for the upkeep of the Appalachian Trail, and this group has created what they call the “A.T. Native Lands Territory map,” which tracks the various territories and cultures of those indigenous to the Appalachian region. While these areas may be beautiful and national parks may be a great way to preserve pockets of natural beauty in America, it is important to acknowledge the history of these lands and to take time to research those who were on that land before you. I encourage y'all to take time and research the indigenous communities in areas meaningful to you, whether or not they are in Appalachia.

my new Destiel theory: Dean couldn't say I love you not because of his own denial of the fact but because Chuck refused to write it like Chuck's weird psycho-sexual obsession with Dean made him so twisted that rather than allow his character to follow a natural arc that the character itself wanted to follow (see s8 rewrite of "I love you" into "I need you"), he just kept dodging it through increasingly ridiculous and pathetic ploys. he couldn't bear to watch Dean choose free will (Cas) over his heavenly ordained plan, so he just kept fucking with their relationship (see every divorce/widower arc, and all the other will they/won't they shit). really puts Cas's "What's real? We are." into context. like they are, in fact, the only real thing, despite Chuck's attempts to dismantle their relationship.

Okay but to be FAIR to Sam. He IS loreboy and he does do research for hours and hours on end and Dean is very capable of doing research but he is not looking at books for 17 hours straight unless he absolutely has to. But Sam will be doing that because he’s like a dog with a bone and has an insatiable appetite for learning facts and histories and acquiring knowledge and I think Dean looks at him reading for 17 hours and goes “I am not doing that” and then cooks them some bacon.

I think it actually is Jensen's singing ability that allows him to sing that badly on purpose. cuz like, it's hard to fake being that bad unless you know what you're doing lol
