Of all the ferocity and spirit that made him one.

He paws hesitantly at the cold tombstone, an uncertain young cub; it's cold, he thinks, like the ice you were named after.

He grits his teeth, "Why you, and not me?", and slides to the ground, fresh tears sliding from red orbs and dripping onto the soft soil below, the flowers he brought nearly crushed under his strong grip.

"Alex still can't visit, so-- so I'm here for two people." He says by way of explanation, wiping his tears roughly, and it reminds you of how he doesn't like crying in front of people. Of the time when you both found that dog and you knew Taiga was crying, but he'd adamantly insisted "I totally did not!"

(You wish you were there to wipe his tears like that time.)

When he speaks again, it's more of a choked-off whisper, in English.

"I miss you."

And as he cries silently, you can only mouth the same words into the wind, knowing full well those ears won't hear no matter how much he strains them.
