This could easily (sort of) be user-generated like how Discogs is a nearly-complete compendium of all music releases. Such an easy UI to create as well. A map with little dots you can click or enter cities/locations/venues into a search bar, if it’s a venue it will show you what’s playing that night and you can click thru to see the complete schedule, people can add house shows to it, the shows go away after the date it is listed for so there isn’t an issue of outdated information, god this is so needed.
A great music resource for now would be a website that's an interactive map of the country where you can click on different places and get information on local musicians and venues there, similar to what resident advisor and dodiy do now but with less of an emphasis on touring and a slicker interface, because unfortunately, I think we've lost some literacy and trust in terms of established design aesthetics of indie media. idk i think even just that visual of everyone's physical proximity would be exciting for people. Obviously the problem would be generating money for upkeep but it's like we need stuff that looks venture capital-backed but it's being done completely for free, money and data-wise.
why are people on tumblr so much funnier than the people on twitter. I haven’t even found the actually funny people yet and still. you guys are punk rock 🤙
