spencer’s parents denying her her comfort and safety out of convenience or in favour of their own comfort or in order to protect someone else’s reputation happens at least once every season (and troian plays that feeling of total hurt and betrayal and incredulousness SO fucking brilliantly.) veronica and peter take ian’s side after spencer, with video proof, accuses him of having a relationship with ali; veronica represents garrett while he’s on trial for ali’s murder; veronica tries to make spencer leave radley before she’s ready to; veronica denies spencer her medication, post-dollhouse, as if being back at home is supposed to be a comfort to her. spencer was stifled and unsafe in her own home long before the dollhouse and long before A. think how many times we see her walking down those stairs to meet her next crisis! or how many times we’ve seen her sleeping in her living room out of fear because her parents left their daughter, the close friend of a murdered teenager whose killer is always yet to be found, home alone to go laywering in “out-of-town” town! pll is always at its most radical and terrifying when the horror story outside of A, the horror story of being a frightened teenage girl, becomes the show’s main focus. the crux of pretty little liars lies not in who actually did it, but in just how many people reasonably could’ve done.

no matter who you ship leo with, he's always the malewife in every single scenario, no exceptions

and he has one of the best arcs of pr history, and you can fight me on that
