This week has been a lot, I’m still emotional but first and foremost I felt it’s time for a tribute to Matthew Mercer - he’s said many important things these days.

Being a DM is a hard job. It’s rewarding to make your friends laugh, to make them feel like great heroes, but sometimes you have to be the one to fulfill the dice’s judgement and Matt did that with great grace and emotion.

I’m grateful to watch this journey, all the ups and down, to be with them no matter what. We all must pass through fire and in the end it will be worth it.

I had a realization this morning

I idealize the future too much,

Particularly at this point in my life I idealize having my own place

I say when I have my own place I will do this or that.

I will cook more, I will roast whole chickens and make stock from the leftovers

I’ll grow herbs, I’ll bake more, I’ll do more art, I’ll decorate more,

I say this stop is temporary so I’ll save all my energy for the future

Ya know what, fuck that, I’m doing it now

I should honestly with my trauma know tomorrow isn’t promised and thinking of the future as when I’ll do all the things I want to do or expend the energy on them is well honestly an excuse to not have to do it now, so when I fuck up something I can go should I’ve waited

I’m not waiting anymore, I’m making myself a really nice brunch, I’m loading up Scout, my dog, I’m gonna stop and get some stuff to make sandwiches and drinks, then we are going to a park and I’m going to spend my afternoon reading, listening to music, exploring, and painting, I have a travel watercolor kit for fucks sake and ya know I gotta wash the quilt I keep on my bed anyways

I’m not wasting anymore time, I idealized the future for so long because of my trauma and my comp het and I’m not doing it anymore

I’m going to live here in the now, I’m going to hang up my thrift finds and make the decorations and food and art I think about as future projects so long

I’m going to cherish the freedom I have gifted myself by coming out,
