ep 5 of tadc unleashed a tidal wave of people trying to justify either jax or ragatha and mischaracterize the other into hell reincarnate. my fellow in christ. they both have flaws, neither one is much better than the other when it comes to coping and socializing with others

stolas's behaviors in mastermind and sinsmas(helluva boss) must've unlocked something in people because i couldn't go five minutes without seeing some video essay or short shaming him. yes, he was in the wrong by leaving octavia, but that doesn't immediately make him the villain

i don't even wanna mention mabel pines because she barely fits into this category, but i HAVE TO now. she made one goddamn mistake when she was vulnerable and you vultures rip her apart

when characters are complex, it means they have positive and negative aspects of their personality. some are morally grey because humanity is morally grey. it makes them more relatable

ok so something in tadc that's bugged me for a bit is the lore drops about what the characters used to do and be like

and don't get me wrong, the gravity falls kid inside of me LOVES some lore, but it's just a specific detail about it

back in the pilot, caine said that no one in the digital circus remembers their names upon entering, and it was confirmed by pomni

and yet...they can recall the rest of their past lives with ease??? can they remember everything but their names? cause jax even made a breaking bad reference, like who tf forgets their legal name and remembers breaking bad??? (tbh that sounds like jax, bro didn't even notice he lost his tail ;-;)

or they forget everything when they enter, BUT after their minds finish adjusting to their new digital form, they regain their memories fully. they just don't bother to try and recall it because they already have a new name that everyone calls them already

but what i got from all these scenes was just that pomni was gravitating more towards jax and buildin a solid relationship with him when pomni should be doing that with HER and not this punk-ass bunny twink bitch-

cause if we hop on the buttonblossom train and decide that ragatha does have a crush on pomni, jax might actually know and is using his bond with pomni to tease her about it

"wow, the first steps of a budding friendship! right, ragatha?" *shit-eating grin*

*silently holding herself back from pummelling his face in while violently sobbing and calling him slurs*

although i think op has a point and these both could be conflicting feelings, cause not only is jax opening up to someone who's been here like a week while ragatha's been trying to get him to be vulnerable for god knows how long, but that someone is her crush

Can you just imagine how awful Ragatha feel herself? She's trying to make basic friendship with Jax for YEARS. And instead of her, who was here literally from the very beginning, he chooses Pomni. AND POMNI ACCEPTS HIM AND IN THE END RAGATHA JUST STAYS ALONE

And no i didnt say Pomni just told to Ragatha to fuck off and now shes a besties with Jax. But just the fact shes able to built normal relations with this person that she herself just cant reach.. ugh

And I don't even know which one is worse for me
