the big appeal of oumota to me is like.

kokichi doesnt view kaito as that idealized version of himself that he projects onto the world, that persona maki and shuichi are so taken by (despite their annoyances at times)

and the idea that once kaito sees kokichi unmasked, true and honest and vulnerable, he stops viewing kokichi as the villain kokichi presents himself to be, and both of them are just so drawn towards that brutal honesty that the other so vehemently denies because its weakness

and neither of them can lie. because they KNOW the other knows its bullshit. but they do anyway. in that feeble attempt to pull up another wall. and. and. and

Thinking about how Kokichi told Shuichi in his love hotel event “It means… you can do whatever you want to me. And that’s the truth.” Kokichi spends the whole game wanting to be able to control everything, but in his fantasy, he wants his ideal to do “whatever [he] want[s]” instead. Idk maybe I’m reading too into something that isn’t even 100% canon, but I think that what Kokichi wants in a partner is someone who he can trust and let his guard down around despite the circumstances (detective/phantom thief). He’s willing to give up some of that control he tried to grasp throughout the killing game because he trusts his ideal partner that much. Idk if I’m making sense lol.

It's been a while since I last talked about Saiouma and I gotta say, I've missed my boys..

So, SAIOUMA HC! (Down below)

• Kokichi loves climbing on literally anything he can. So, Shuichi has to stand below and have his eyes on him at all times in case he falls.

• The play Cult of the Lamb together! (Shuichi is Lamb and Kokichi is the Goat).

• They are both brainrotted (Kokichi's fault) and they just yell out memes for the other to finish.

• Kokichi makes sure Shuichi takes his medication every day.

• Then they play Cluedo (normally with Maki, Kaito, Kaede and sometimes Kirumi) they Always end up arguing.

• Shuichi loves playing with Kokichi's curly hair.

• Kokichi is a Huge fan of Percy Jackson and has made Shuichi read all the books. Now, they both love Percy Jackson.

• Whenever they play Animal Crossing, they argue about how their island should be like ans what villagers to have.

• Shuichi is a big Legend of Zelda fan and he plays regularly. Kokichi is just there to make fun of the NPCs and just roast Shuichi.

• Once Shuichi took Kokichi out on a picnic date. It was spring so a lot of insects were out and about, so Kokichi was complaining all the time and screaming whenever a bee got near him. They never went out for a picnic ever again.

• Shuichi throws biology facts at Kokichi. He either earns a side eye or a simple "Okay..".

• They watch TV dramas only to criticise them and make fun of the people that take part in them.

• They are both Fantasy nerds.

• Kokichi's bed is Full with plushies. (Hence to why they never sleep on Kokichi's room together-)

• Shuichi uses pet names all the time (except if he is pissed at him, then he calls him just Kokichi or Ouma). Kokichi calls him Shumai nonetheless.

• They have the keys to each others dorm rooms.

• Shuichi Loves making fun of Kokichi's height. Even though it only earns him a kick in his thigh and a pissed Kokichi.

• Kokichi bites. Literally, he will just randomly bite Shuichi's arm, shoulder, chest..anywhere. Why? No one knows..

• Ever since the two got together, Kokichi and Kaito have been in better terms. A bit with Maki too even. Shuichi is happy, though does keep an eye open because Kokichi is Kokichi and can easily get himself choked by Maki..

• They have matching pfps on insta

• Shuichi is Bisexual and Kokichi is Gay
