HEY
So, I bet none of you remember me, but... hi!
Junior year has kept me way too busy, so I haven't been on in... let's say months.
So, I'll give you bullet points:
Working with my school orchestra on my Piano Concerto
Going to be featured on NPR's "From the Top" tomorrow morning at 9 AM Central Time, playing a movement of my Piano Trio.  (This can be streamed from wrr101.com, I'm sure, and potentially also from fromthetop.org.)
Writing a chamber ballet for a local ballet company, instrumentation violin, French horn, and piano
Getting really into jazz
Getting really into French
Obsessing over college
Seattle looks nice
I'm probably going to delete my Tumblr sometime in the next few days, or sometime in this next week.  Sad face.
For any of you who may be interested in following my endeavors further, please follow me on Twitter.  I only just got it, so I'm still in the beginning stages of "what the hell is a retweet?" Just let me know who you are so I can follow you back, or whatever.  Anyway, yeah, school is just getting to be too much, and I look up at my bookmarks bar and see Tumblr and it kills me because I neglect you guys.  Sorry...
But yeah!  I'll leave my account alone for a few days so whosoever wants to follow me can do so.  It's been fun, you guys... have awesome lives!

Yeah, I know, I've talked to him before about stuff, he is definitely chill.  But this is a pretty huge deal for me, and even if I get comments from him about it, I'll be ecstatic.
But anyways, yes!  It's a really fun piece, I would love to show it to you some time.
And thanks! :)

Guys, I'm actually really nervous.
I'm meeting with the conductor of my local professional symphony orchestra tomorrow regarding my Piano Concerto.
I'm really really excited
and not much is likely to come of it besides some comments or critiques
but

The manuscript to the ”Brobdingnagian Gigue” from Telemann’s “Gulliver’s Travels” suite for two violins. The time signature of 24/1 is a musical pun, reflecting the fictional land of Brobdingnag, a land occupied by giants. The use of long note values is a purely aesthetic joke, as the music is played in a normal tempo, completely unnoticed by the listener.

December 25th marks two Beethoven anniversaries. On this date in 1815 Beethoven’s cantata “Meeresstille und Glückliche Fahrt” (Sea Calm and Prosperous Voyage) and the “Namensfeier” (Name Day Fest) Overture, Op. 115, were premiered at the Redoutensaal in Vienna. Beethoven conducted this concert, which was a benefit for the Citizens’ Hospital Fund. Also on this date in 1821, Beethoven finished his “Hammerklavier” Piano Sonata (No. 29.)
The “Hamerklavier” is one of Beethoven’s most important late works and one of the most popular of his 32 piano sonatas. It is also considered the hardest piano piece he wrote. The Peanuts comic strip used this piece at least three times…

I can't believe I actually just heard this. I also can't believe I'm only just now listening to all of these, but that's less important.

Hmm, what's that?
That concerto I've been writing and orchestrating since January?
It's finished?
What?

Much obliged.
For the record, guys, I don't actually live in New York.  I'll just be there for a couple days.
