observing the antithesis,

So I've been getting very frustrated lately with many things. Mostly the ignorance of humanity. Little worker bee's that are so lost in their own heads that they ignore the bigger picture.  "Ignorance is bliss". What is the bigger picture?  I don't know- I would be harshly judging the person that said they did know.  But It must be, has to be, so far from the current focus of the human psyche.  What drives a single species to dictate to the rest of the natural world. To name, and label, and give a monetary value?

Again, I don't have a single fucking clue.  But the question itself may yield more about the truth than intended.

I believe in the scientific method..... which is surely guilty of the first two, and without a doubt contributed to the third; but knowledge is power and without knowledge we lack foresight.  Now I'll stop talking with the same breadth and applicability of a horoscope.  Back to me.  The disregard of the environment has to be my biggest peeve.  The anthropocentric society we live in couldn't even facilitate (at this given time) the required paradigm shift to save the current state of the environment. 

Instead, the individuals who aren't so wrapped up in what is essentially a make believe world run by currency, an artificial concept in itself, get to watch society spell out it's demise.  Now, I said knowledge is power.  But power can be a hinderance in the wrong hands. In the age of information, we are essentially living in it's counter-part.... the age of misinformation. When knowledge is controlled by that artificial concept of currency, or at least dictates where this knowledge is 'spent', are we not just furthering the human condition? Yep.  Positive feedback loops are a bitch aren't they?! Now again.... back to me. 

So yes.... I sound a tad over the top but when the main mechanisms that cause the inability for a paradigm shift is the greed produced from the concept in the first place, and a few pages of 'legally binding' ideals around an outdated economic and corporate model...... I just want to scream.  But I seem to always get to this conclusion quite quickly.... to me it's just so simple. But what is completely beyond me is just trying to understand other people. Even on an individual social level, I smile and I laugh but I can't help but feel like I'm just going through the motions.  I know I'm probably having an identical rant to some other self-absorbed uni student but the over-thinking is, for lack of a better word, excruciating.  So this brings me to my last point of frustration. My new found inability to take part in this world that I so bitterly critique.  Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and family, and I do all the usual- shoot the shit, go to parties etc, but I feel like my focus is always blurred.... like one part of me is paying attention and going through the motions of .... well.... Emotions... but I'm not so sure they really land?  You could say I'm going through a patch that's just... All too static.  P.S  profile name pun completely intended
