Hello, my name is trey, and I have seen your coven au, and I have to say shadow the hedgehog look so cute and lovely ( please don't let him know i said that) and totally sane and I am also curious to about the lore of this au as well as what sonics abilities are,like does he have super speed and shadow have chaos abilities ( chaos control,chaos spear ect) .

For the lore, I really need to make a info graphic or smth on it but I'm like totally going to look like a psycho with a cork board of pins and red string :,3

But basically Sonic, Shadow and Amy go to the same university, and Silver and Blaze go to a different one. The coven(Shadow, Amy, Silver, Blaze) probably met each other at a goth club and/or kept running into each other at the cemetery, and became friends/developing relationships from there.

It's in like one of my first posts of this au, but Shadow did a tarot reading one day about Sonic and why Sonic always seems to appear around him. Like in the same classes, randomly around campus, and at cafes and dining halls, even if he went to a random one he's never been before; The pair are just naturally drawn together. In the tarot reading, Shadow drew cards that basically told him that Sonic was his soulmate/other half, which only made Shadow try to avoid Sonic even more. Amy had already clocked that the pair were meant to be together, but went along with Shadow's attempts to run away for a short while until she got tired of Shadow's stubbornness and invited Sonic to hang out with them. Which is where the main comic of the au begins :)))

As for their abilities, I haven't quite settled on what I want Sonic to be able to do spiritually/paranormally, but I do imagine that he is quite athletic and is quite speedy, just not to the the extent of super speed like original sonic... but he's still never lost a race. As for Shadow, he's really proficient at divination with or without tools. I've described him as containing a crazy amount of spiritual energy :3

As for The Love Witch, it's a movie about this diva who is trying to find 'the one' for her and basically, men fall madly in love with her but each time her cards either tell her they aren't the one for her or she gets a vibe, and it ends in the death of the man before she moves onto the next, where the same thing will happen (which i think is cunty). tw for suicide for one of the men tho.

For my au it's a bit of the opposite situation though... Shadow pulls the card that Sonic is meant for him but he doesn't want to accept it so tries to avoid Sonic(unsuccessfully). (neither of them are going to die like would happen in The Love Witch tho)

is there an explanation yet for the kitschy coven AU yet? I found a couple of ur posts today and im very interested, your art is so yummy and I wanna know everything possible ever about this AU :3

aaahhhh kind of kind of not 🥀🥀🥀🥺🥺🥺 the lore is mostly in random tumblr posts so it’s all over the place😔😔

but it’s really inspired by movies like The Craft and The Love Witch, and a little bit of Twin Peaks. idk if this will make sense but I really like how the magic is contained within the ‘in’ group and how it feels like we’re in on that secret. It is people deeply connected to the natural and magic that lives among the normal folk.

Alongside this, I want to bring in my own experience and knowledge of spiritualism, animism, “new-age” craft, and i guess witchcraft in general??

I’m also into goth music and its subculture so i’ve also cursed them to be goth and alternative.

ok and thIS will sound crazy but i started getting those “i am meat” videos and photos on my feeds(blood and gore warning lowkey for those) before starting the comic and highkey the holy terror of oneself being made of meat scares me in a way that is so enticing. It’s such a fine line between our conscious, civilised selves and carnality, and the way we grow and heal our own bodies through no conscious thought may be the closest we as humans will ever be to experiencing divinity. It just does it with the only bargain being that it gets worse at it over time teehee.

but BASICALLY what i’m getting at is that I have ideas for their ideology that idk if i will put in place or if it will be too far… maybe i’ll put it in oneshots so the main storyline isn’t crazy…

I never expected to continue this comic sort of thing this long tbh. i think it's been like 4 or 5 months off of the top of my head which might mean i need to touch grass.......but YIPPEEEEEEE!!

Y'all, the little folder on my phone for this comic says 63 items, which is crazy itself, but including all of the panels for the parts that are out(including this part), the number becomes 70 published drawings of these god damned hedgehogs that i hate not even including the characters themselves... if i counted that, i genuinely think it's in the 200s

I've found that i make new pages/parts much more quickly with this new comic format so after i finish making clean sketches of 2 more odd pages, I'm going to have up to part 14 ready..... which is exciting but also nerve wracking bc i feel like I've only just broken out of the exposition of the au.

I also feel like there are so many aspects of these characters that I have barely even touched upon that I would like to explore but it will take a long time. I think One Shots are probably the best way to handle this, but I have a bad problem of wanting to give stories breath in a way that is so not gen z of me... which makes me sound like such an dumbass to say teehee... I struggle with writing long form, so maybe that side of me is fighting to give y'all a story in a comic's form instead...

Sorry for my babbling and thank you for reading all the way to here if you generously spent your time doing so 🥺 not to get a bit sentimental but I started posting here on tumblr before anywhere else and y'all have shown me nothing but the most gentle love and kindness. y'all have reminded me that good still exists in people, and that the internet isn't inhospitable.
