Twst Merch Giveaway: Light-Up Magical Pen (Twst Fes version)
What: One light-up magical pen with a "Twisted Wonderland Fes" strap.
The "magestone" part of this pen can light up in seven different, interchangeable colors. These were particularly fun at Twst Fes, where the audience would change the colors of their light depending upon what seiyuu was speaking at the time.
This pen (still in packaging, seen above) was actually purchased from the Twisted Wonderland Exhibition in Yokohama rather than from Twst Fes itself, but "Twisted Wonderland Fes" is written on the strap. It is also available via Aniplex's Online Store.

Who: Anyone can participate!
Shipping is free of charge to any country except where the post office says no, which (to my knowledge) is the following places: Yemen, Guatemala, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Chad, Bolivia, Liberia, Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Libya, Russia, Ukraine.
How: Please reblog this post! No need to follow or like (unless you want to!), winner to be selected by random number generator.
This same giveaway is also running on Twitter, because there are actually two pens, so there will be two winners! Feel free to participate in both, if you so wish!

When: Starting now! This giveaway ends in 24 hours at 7am on Wednesday, December 20th (Japan Standard Time).
Winner will not be announced publicly (just in case someone is looking to get a gift for someone else), so please be sure that you can receive messages! (Ghost camera bags were both successfully shipped yesterday!)

Linked Love 𓆩♡𓆪 | Chapter 7: When You Look At Me, The Only Memory...
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter (ꨄ︎ coming soon ꨄ︎)
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶ Read on Ao3 ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶ Love Interest Guide ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Synopsis:
The 9 heroes were just beginning to get their bearings as a group, when a new face (and a new name! Finally!) was thrown into the mix. How will they fare with a new companion that’s got some stark differences from the rest of them?
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Or, in which, you wake up in the Linked Universe and somehow manage to capture the heart of every single Link in the chain. You may come to learn, however, that their affections are a bit more…smothering than one may expect
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
…Wow. He really did look just like Legend. You’d think they were brothers, if you weren’t privy to the events of the game.
“Uh…” Ravio mumbled, looking over everyone in the room. It seems he didn’t know what to say.
“Ravio? What are you doing here?” Legend crossed his arms, giving the other an exasperated look; though you could tell there was no real animosity in it.
Ravio smiled, lifting his hood as it started to fall over his face. “I just wanted to visit my buddy. Is that so wrong? But uh…” He glanced around the room again, seeming a little nervous with all the eyes on him. “I didn’t realize you were busy with, um…family.”
You laughed a little to yourself.
Family? I guess most of them do look kind of alike…
Legend scoffed, not bothering to correct them. “Yeah, these are my travel companions for the time being. I already know what you’re gonna ask, and the answer is no. There’s not enough space for you to stay here right now.”
Ravio frowned. “Oh, come on, Mr. Hero! I can share…” He smiled, putting his hands out. “It’s just been so long since we’ve caught up. I missed you!”
Legend turned away from him, back to what he was initially doing. “Miss your best customer, more like. But I’m not buying anything from you. Since my adventure is over, I don’t…” He trailed off, a look of realization coming over his face.
I mean, we are technically on an adventure now. So maybe Ravio could still help us out? Legend probably bought all his in-game items though…does that mean he has new ones now?
Ravio clapped his hands together, taking Legend’s silence as resignation. “I knew you would see things my way.” He strolled further into the house. “Now, won’t you introduce me to your relatives?”
He was quite animated, talking as much with his hands as he did with words. His motions reminded you of a street salesman.
“They can do that themselves.” Legend huffed, not looking up from the chest he was digging in.
“I’m surprised Mr. Hero is with so many people. Usually he’s one more for solitude…” Ravio murmured, before turning to Legend with a smirk. “Or does he just not like me?”
“Both.” Legend didn’t even spare him a glance.
Ravio laughed, unbothered. You figured they bantered like this often.
“You may refer to me as Time.” The old man nodded, catching Ravio’s attention. He and Warriors had returned during Ravio’s spiel.
“And I’m Twilight.” The rancher introduced.
“Oh…” Ravio blinked up at the two as they stood to introduce themselves. “Quite tall, aren’t you gentlemen?” He chuckled somewhat nervously. “I see the height skipped Mr. Hero’s generation.”
“You-!” Legend finally turned around, an angry look on his face.
“Ha!” Warriors laughed, patting Ravio firmly on the back. “Someone that can dish out what they take from the vet. I like it. I’m Warriors, or Wars.” He grinned, putting out a hand.
“Strange-named fellows, aren’t you?” He looked up at Wars with an odd smile.
“We all share the name Link, well, for the most part.” Legend’s glanced towards you. “So we usually just stick with nicknames.”
Following Legend’s gaze, Ravio turned to look at you with interest. “Oh, my. You don’t look like the rest of these brutes.” He smiled, clasping his hands. “Would I be correct in assuming you aren’t a relative of Mr. Hero’s?” The look he gave you made your insides tingle. You couldn’t tell if you loved or hated the sensation.
“Um, yeah, no. I’m just…traveling with them.” You smiled, trying to shake off your social ineptitude as you put a hand out. “My name is Y/N. It’s lovely to meet you…Ravio, right?”
Ravio looked at you with vague surprise for a moment, lips curling around the syllables of your name as he repeated it under his breath. Though, before you could comment on it, his expression returned to normal.
“Y/N, hm? What a lovely name. Fitting, for a lovely maiden such as yourself.” He took your hand, but rather than shaking it, he kissed it.
You blushed under his lidded gaze, his warm lips setting your nerves alight.
First kiss in the Zelda world let’s go-?
“U-Uhm…” You stumbled over your words for a moment, unsure of how to respond; especially with 9 other pairs of eyes on you.
“Cut it out, Ravio.” Legend scoffed. “You’re being creepy.” He had an irritated look on his face as he leaned back from the chest he’d been rummaging in.
“Ah, you’re no fun at all, Mr. Hero.” He smiled towards Legend, before his eyes landed on a glowering Twilight. “Though, um, I wouldn’t dream of making any of our guests uncomfortable.” He chuckled nervously, letting go of your hand. “Forgive me, my lady.”
My lady…?
“Oh, it’s…” You blushed. “It’s fine. Thank you, you’re very sweet.” You smiled, face red.
Ravio preened, before Legend started pushing him out of the room.
“If you’re going to be loitering around my house, the least you can do is make yourself useful.” He griped, “I know you can cook just fine.”
“Oh, jealous, Mr. Hero? I didn’t even get to finish meeting your family!” Ravio laughed, their voices growing fainter as they headed for the kitchen. However, Legend’s next words were very clear.
“No!”
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You continued to think over the interaction you’d just had, embarrassed.
“You sure you’re alright? You look pretty shy.” Wars laughed, and Twilight held an expression conveying the same question, albeit less amused.
“Uh, yeah.” You nodded. “I’m just, uh, not used to that…”
“Not used to what?” Sky tilted his head. “Chivalry?”
Is that what that was…? I was thinking he was into me…
You shrugged. “Nah. It’s not really a thing back home.”
Now that garnered a reaction.
“Wh-” Four’s eyes widened. “Not a thing?”
“I mean, it’s a concept…” You looked at him. “But it’s considered to be dead by most people.”
“So- so what?” Wars had an incredulous expression. “Do men just go around acting like barbarians? Treating women like pigs?”
I mean yeah pretty much-
“Well…” You hummed. “Women don’t get special treatment, that’s for sure. Actually, women tend to get harassed a lot…”
I fucking hate the men back home…that’s why I’m single.
“Harassed?” Time rose a brow. “In what manner of speaking?”
You shrugged. “All kinds, dude. Some men just don’t know how to take ‘no’ for an answer, and will bother women that they’re attracted to incessantly.”
Time’s brows furrowed at being called ‘dude,’ but he otherwise remained silent as he took in the information.
“Others…” You shivered. “Will just take what they want, or lash out violently when they can’t have it.”
“How disgusting.” Hyrule had an uncharacteristically hateful expression on his face. “I’m so sorry you have to live in such conditions, Y/N.”
“It’s…really not that bad.” You waved them off. “I mean, you get used to it…”
I mean I’m scared to take walks at night and I don’t go anywhere unarmed, but that’s pretty run-of-the-mill, yeah?
“It’s completely unjust that you should have to ‘get used to’ such treatment. That’s awful.” Wild crossed his arms.
“Yeah, what the hell!” Wind exclaimed. “I mean, I wouldn’t coddle a lady, but that’s just gross! You’re people too! Not objects or trophies to wrestle for!” He threw his hands up in the air.
“Uh…” Wow, they’re really passionate about this…
“Yeah, I mean, I agree.” You nodded. “But, there’s just not much that can be done about it…it’s on such a large scale back home…”
You looked down. “It’s so normalized where I’m from, that no one really bats an eye.”
It made you sick to your stomach to think of all the disgusting things men had said online about women, about children. There were so many admitting to the urge or willingness to commit heinous crimes under the pretense of some sexual desire…
“If we ever end up around your neck of the woods, you can count on that stoppin’.” Twilight said seriously, arms crossed. “Ain’t no one gonna be treatin’ you like that, ya’ hear?”
“Oof-!” Before you could respond, Wind hugged you tightly.
“Yeah! I’ll send some lily-livered suckers into the deep end!” He exclaimed, a determined expression on his face.
“Sailor.” Time warned. “Though, he’s on the right track.” He nodded to you. “You don’t need to worry about facing harassment while you travel with us.”
You smiled a little, touched by their willingness to defend you, despite not knowing you incredibly well.
“Thanks, guys…”
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
There was something so inconceivably off about you. From your name, to your voice, to your…everything.
Everything about you made Ravio’s head foggy.
The second he laid eyes on you he felt that strange pull, but the longer he’d interacted with you, looked at you, listened to you, the more he felt it.
But what was it? You reminded him of something that he just couldn’t think of. Something he couldn’t quite grasp, no matter how far he extended his fingers, or flicked his tongue to roll the answer off of it.
But whatever odd chord your being striked in his brain, he liked it. There was a cloudy feeling in his chest when he spoke to you, and he almost felt like it would carry him away if he didn’t root himself down.
…What was up with him?
Sure, he could be a kiss-up, but he was never one to just…get so smitten like this. He was a man of business. He had no time for such trivial pursuits of romance.
…And he was far too afraid of things going awry, should his pursuits of love fail.
So, why? How did you manage to slide right past his walls like they were never there in the first place? You didn’t even seem to be aware of what you were doing.
Ravio sighed, putting down the knife he was chopping fruit with and bringing a hand up to stroke at his scarf.
His fingers brushed over a brooch pinned to it.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
“Huh…? Really, Miss fairy? For me?” Ravio clutched at his scarf, looking at you with surprise.
You nodded, smiling eagerly. “For you, for you! And I told you, call me Y/N!”
“...Now take it.” You groaned, your wings beating quickly as you struggled with the item’s weight. “Urgh…it’s heavy.”
Wordlessly, he reached out his palm, allowing you to drop the small brooch into it. He looked down at the item for a moment, simply admiring it.
It was a rabbit brooch, dotted with ornate, colorful gemstones. The metal itself was a soft silver tone. A rabbit, quite fitting for Ravio indeed…
“Ah, thank you very much, Miss- er- Miss Y/N.” He smiled, looking up at your preening form. “I thought that Mr. Hero was the only one you guided.”
You pouted at the honorific, but it was an improvement. “Well, it’s not necessarily a ‘guiding’ item. More like…just a gift.” You smiled, flying in a little circle.
“But, if you ever find yourself missing ‘Miss Y/N,’ you can hold it close and think of me.” You giggled teasingly, but Ravio responded with a sincere smile.
“Thank you, Y/N… I can’t remember the last time I received a present…”
He clipped the brooch to his scarf, on the side opposite of his triforce pin.
He had no idea how much he’d come to cherish the item in the near future.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
That’s right…
How could he have ever forgotten?
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You hummed, listening along as the others talked about lodging plans.
While staying in the Link of the era’s home was always the ideal plan, as it was free, there just wasn’t enough space for everyone to stay in Legend’s house.
His home consisted of a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. While they could theoretically squeeze all their bedrolls into the space of the living room floor, it wouldn’t be very comfortable; and it would be a struggle to get through the space without tripping over someone.
So, they were discussing splitting up and going to the village to stay in an inn.
You didn’t necessarily mind the idea, but you’d already laid out your bedroll… Not to mention you didn’t have any rupees.
“We don’t all need to sleep at the inn.” Time spoke, as if on cue. “There is space for at least a few of us to stay here. We would do well to cut back on spending.”
You jumped at the opportunity, raising a hand. “I can stay here. I don’t have any rupees, anyway.”
Time nodded once, arms crossed.
“Ravio’s probably gonna want to stay over. He likes to crash here when he’s in Hyrule.” Legend rolled his eyes, leaning back on his hands. “I’ve only got room for about one more person other than that.”
“I’ll stay.” Twilight perked up, eyes flitting to you.
Smooth. You avoided his gaze, blushing.
Warriors noted the interaction, silently raising a brow.
“Aw.” Wind huffed. “I wanted to keep looking around the vet’s house.”
“You mean snoop around his house.” Wild smirked. “Can’t blame ya though. You really are a hoarder, Leg.”
“I am not.” Legend growled. “Everything I have is a useful item from one of my adventures.”
“No one needs that many shovels.” Hyrule laughed.
“Shut up!” Legend threw his arms up. “What am I supposed to do with them? Not a lot of people in the shovel market!”
“Very well.” Time interrupted, recalling everyone’s attention. “It’s settled then. We will head to the inn in the village after dinner.”
There were some nods and general affirmations throughout the room, and Time turned to you and Twilight.
“If you need to come see us for any reason, please do not go alone. I don’t think I need to explain why.”
You nodded, Twilight agreeing as well. You didn’t need to be told twice; you were not chancing a monster encounter while you were all on your lonesome. You weren’t even confident you could take out a bokoblin, let alone any kind of black-blooded creature that crawled your way.
And Dark Link…bro is on the loose…
You shivered.
Twilight put a hand on your lower back, noticing your discomfort. A sweet gesture, but it only made you nervous for different reasons.
“That goes for you two, as well.” Time nodded to Legend, presumably referring to Ravio as the other. “I know this is your domain, but it is a simple precautionary measure. If all this has taught us one thing, it’s that we can never know what to expect.”
Legend snorted, but didn’t disagree.
Suddenly, a clatter rang out from the kitchen, catching everyone’s attention.
“Is that-?”
“What was that?”
Legend rolled his eyes, standing up and heading for the kitchen. “Should’ve known cooking was too big a job for that airhead- woah!” He jumped out of the way as Ravio hurried out of the kitchen, beelining straight for…
…you?
“Huh-? Oof!” You were glomped by the merchant, and momentarily stupefied as he hugged you tightly, muttering frantically.
“Y/N, Y/N! You came back! Oh, dear, you came back to us…! Oh, how I missed you…”
What the fuck-?
Twilight puffed up like an angry cat, and looked about ready to rip the merchant off you, but you shook your head. No need for all that. Yet.
“Um- R- Ravio, what-?” You stuttered, majorly confused and sort of uncomfortable with everyone’s eyes on the two of you. You grasped the fabric of his robes, ready to pull him off.
“Yeah, what the hell-?” Legend started, but Ravio pulled back suddenly to look you in the eyes.
“Y/N, you returned! Heh, you’re bigger than I remember-” He laughed incredulously, “You’re bigger! Oh, it’s so good to see you again. You have no idea how much I missed you!” He hugged you so tightly, and you wheezed out a breath.
Oh.
Suddenly, realization washed over you.
He remembered.
I didn’t know people other than the Links could… I mean, there was the Great Fairy, but she’s…
You put your hands on his arms, trying to gently pry him off you so you could breathe properly.
And I thought Twilight’s reaction was visceral…
“Ravio, what are you talking about?” Legend hissed, grabbing the back of his robes to pull him off you. “You’re acting fucking crazy.”
Ravio looked angry for a second, but his expression quickly morphed to shock. “You- You don’t-? You’re telling me you don’t remember?”
“Remember what?” Legend groaned, letting go of Ravio after he’d pulled him off you.
Ravio’s hands twitched, and he moved back closer to you, but seemed to resist latching onto you again.
“...We will begin heading to the inn for the night.” Time stood up, sensing the tension building in the air.
“Already? Ugh.” Wind moaned, but picked up his things without any more of a fuss. A few of the other guys did the same, despite seeming interested in the merchant’s abrupt change of behavior.
Time was giving Legend a look that said, “We’ll talk later.” but said nothing more as he and the others began to make their leave.
“Goodnight Y/N.” Hyrule smiled, Wild and Wind wishing you the same.
You smiled and waved them off, but you still felt slightly uneasy with the current turn of events.
If Ravio remembered and Legend didn’t, then…what would that mean?
Eventually, everyone had filtered out, leaving you with Legend, Ravio, and Twilight.
Ravio ignored the others’ exit, but Legend seemed to take it as a sign to get more pushy.
“Now what are you on about?” He crossed his arms.
“Even after being with her for so long, speaking with her, gazing upon her…” Ravio made an uncharacteristically nasty face at Legend. “You haven’t recalled? Nothing at all?”
“What are you talking about?” Legend snapped. “You’re not making any sense, idiot.” Legend didn’t seem to be responding well to Ravio’s sudden aggression.
Ravio scoffed. “How can you call yourself a hero…how can you call yourself anything without her? How can you look upon her after everything and just…feel nothing?”
Legend grit his teeth. “After everything? What the hell are you talking about!? And what do you know about being a hero?”
Your eyes widened. This was starting to escalate.
Twilight remained silent, though seemed ready to step in at any moment as he watched the exchange.
“H-Hey, guys, it’s okay. I-It’s not a big deal, Ravio-” You tried to get between them before things got any more heated, but Ravio only seemed even more appalled by your words.
“Not a big deal?” He turned his entire body towards you suddenly, taking your hands in his own. “My goddess, you are the biggest ‘deal’ there is. This- this is-...” He groaned, putting a hand to his face. “It’s unforgivable. And yet, even I am guilty of it…” He slid his hand down his face, seeming more melancholy than angry now.
You put a hand on his shoulder, shaking your head. “It’s not your fault, I-”
“Will one of you tell me what the hell is going on!?” Legend growled, impatient with the lack of answers he was receiving.
“I-” You blinked, swallowing heavily. “Well, er, it’s…-” You struggled finding a place to begin. You hardly even understood things yourself.
Twilight sighed heavily, seeming prepared to get into a long conversation. “Look, Vet…-” Though, before he could finish, Ravio stepped forward, pushing Legend.
“Don’t you remember? Forever and always, Legend.” He snatched the brooch off his scarf and shoved it into Legend’s hands. “Forever and always…”
Legend scoffed, looking down at the rabbit pin in his hands. “What are you…” He trailed off, looking over it carefully as a perplexed expression came over his face.
“Wh…” His brows furrowed, something cloudy coming into his mind.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
“It’s okay… It’s okay, honey…”
“I was there, it was real. Everything was real.”
“Shh…I know, I know…”
“I’ll be by your side forever, okay? You don’t need to worry.”
“As long as there’s challenges for you to face, I’ll be here…”
“Forever and always… Don’t you ever forget that, bunny.”
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Legend stared down at the brooch in his hand, looking completely mystified.
His eyes traced over it again and again, as if confirming something.
Finally, he slowly looked up to meet your gaze.
“...Bunny?”
Your eyes widened.
That’s… Does he remember?
You were caught off guard as tears pricked at his eyes, and he stepped forward, looking at you like you were an apparition.
“By the goddess…is it really you?” His voice sounded more vulnerable than you’d ever heard it, and you found yourself feeling emotional from his tone alone.
You nodded, opening your arms as he stepped closer to you still.
At the unspoken invitation, he crashed into your arms, gasping. “Bunny… Y/N. You- you were right… You…the shadow, and… and you’re here…you came back…”
Twilight had a sympathetic look on his face, yet Ravio still seemed a little discomposed.
“So you’ve finally remembered our angel? Took an awful lot of prompting.” He crossed his arms.
Legend ignored him, hugging you tightly, as if you’d melt right out of his arms. “Y/N…”
You hugged him back, your arms wrapped around his shoulders. “That’s right, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
I hope…
Your thoughts wandered back to your dream about Dark Link.
No matter how many times you turned it over in your head, the word “dream” still didn’t sound right.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Ravio refused to separate from you long enough to get anything meaningful done, so it fell to Legend to finish making dinner, as much as he’d also have liked to stay by your side.
Ravio could feel Twilight’s sneering and jealous staring, but it wasn’t nearly enough to dissuade him from clinging to you. Sure, the little farm boy had the “decency” to hold himself back from latching onto you the way the merchant did, but that wasn’t getting him any closer to you.
Ravio was just so, so, so grateful to have you back.
He had no idea how much he’d missed you until now, and that period of despair after you’d left was like no other. It didn’t even compare to Lorule losing its triforce. He didn’t think he’d be able to take it, should you disappear from his grasp again.
And you didn’t seem to mind. Oh, gorgeous, kind, ethereal you. You let him cling to you like a leech all he wanted, even encouraged it. Reciprocated it!
That’s why you were perfect…
He always thought you couldn’t possibly get any better, but you surprised him, every time.
So yeah, the hard-headed rancher could huff and puff and kick rocks all he wanted. That’s why he wasn’t the one curled up in your arms, face pressed into your neck as he got to enjoy your intoxicating scent, and simply bask in your presence.
“I missed you so much…” He sighed into your neck, words barely a murmur as his lips brushed against your skin with each syllable.
You shivered, but tried to maintain your composure. He really wasn’t shy, was he?
“I’m sorry, I never meant to leave in the first place…” You brushed a hand through his hair. “But I’m here now, kay? No need to worry, bunny.”
A fervent blush was apparent on Ravio’s face, the nickname practically sending him to cloud nine. He remembered you calling him that all that time ago…and he really couldn’t get enough of it.
“Mm…” He hummed, arms slithering under your own to hold you tight. He seemed content to just lay there with you, with no end in sight to his cuddling.
Though, you called Link “Bunny” too. Personally, he didn’t see how such a name was fitting for the sarcastic hoarder of a hero, but it was your will, so he wouldn’t argue. Even if he wished you’d only call him the pet-name. He was more bunny-like, after all, wasn’t he? Why couldn’t you call Link something more suited to him?
…Like ugly? Or amnesiac? Or attention-hog?
He snorted, nosing your neck. It was easy to forget his petty jealousy when he was so close to you, breathing in your sweet scent. You were like opium…so easy to get addicted to, it should be illegal. Though, the key difference was that you could never ruin his life like such an addictive drug would.
If only he knew how far he’d fallen already.
His thoughts were interrupted as Legend emerged from the kitchen, plates in hand.
“Get off her, Ravio.” Legend scoffed, setting the dishes down on his modest coffee table. “The food’s ready.”
“Oh, thank you, Legend. I’m starving.” You smiled, sitting down at the table after Ravio (very reluctantly) let go of you.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
The food looked delicious.
It was buttered wheat bread and honeyed fruit, which despite being a simple meal, seemed mouth-watering to you at the moment.
It looked as good as something Wild would have made, though he usually went for more complicated recipes. Though, the complexity of the dish was not something your hungry stomach was factoring in as you stared at the food.
“Yeah, whatever. It’s a lot easier to cook when there’s just a few of us, anyway.” Legend turned away as you thanked him. You missed his little smile.
Ravio took a seat next to you, beaming as he scooted just a little closer than what should be considered normal for friends.
Twilight seemed a little miffed as Ravio immediately took the seat by yours, and resigned to sitting next to Legend, who rolled his eyes.
Not paying much mind to the guys around you or the subtle tension in the air, you dug into your food, chewing happily on the sweet fruit and warm bread.
“Mn, this is really good, Legend.” You smiled.
He seemed surprised at the genuineness of your tone, and looked away, a miniscule blush on his face. “It’s nothing…this is a simple dish.”
Ravio crossed his arms. “He’s right. It’s a very simple, easy meal to make. It’s really nothing to get too worked up over.”
You turned to Ravio, but found him and Legend already staring at each other.
…Is it just me or is Ravio beefing?
You took another bite out of your (fucking delicious) bread, and Twilight spoke up, seeming uncomfortable with the tension.
“Yer pretty easy to please, huh, darlin’?” Twilight laughed a little. “You should try my pumpkin soup. Nothin’ beats an Ordonian classic like that.”
You blushed a little at ‘darling,’ but tried to keep it together. “Yeah? I hope I can try it some time.”
“Anyway,” Legend coughed, gaining your attention once more. “I have some questions.”
“Hm?” You smiled easily, prompting him to continue, though you were screaming a little on the inside.
Uh oh…please don’t ask me about the guide stuff…please don’t ask me about the guide stuff…please don’t-
“So, you were…with me all that time. All those adventures, you guided me. Ravio remembers you, too.” He started, looking down. He seemed somewhat uncomfortable speaking openly about it. “But you were also…that, for Twilight?”
NOOO…Legend, don’t make me talk out of my ass!
Legend met your eyes in a way that demanded answers. Though not unkind, the look made you nervous.
Twilight also perked up, seeming interested in your response.
Fuck.
“U-Uh…” You fidgeted, not meeting their eyes. “Well, yes…-”
“But how is that possible?” Legend cut you off. “We’re all from different eras. Even if his and mine were close together…that time difference is way too big for…I mean, you’d have to basically be in two places at once…” His brows furrowed. “Unless you’re some kind of…immortal…”
“I-I’m definitely not immortal.” You shook your head, waving your hands. “ It’s, well…er- you see, it’s…um, kind of…complicated…” You wracked your brain with rising panic. How the hell could you explain this to them without sounding like a lunatic!?
Maybe you could just tell them the truth…you’d told Four about your home, after all…but that was…it was different! Four didn’t know you like this! He hadn’t been so- so painfully aware of your presence within his life!
And more than that, Four was trustworthy. Not to say these guys weren’t…they were Links after all, but…
“U-Uh…” You fumbled with your words, searching desperately for something to say.
“Hey!” Ravio puffed up. “Does it really matter? Can’t you see how uncomfortable she is?” He shifted somewhat protectively in front of you.
Huh? Your eyes followed Ravio’s movement. …He’s defending me?
I would’ve thought he’d be just as interested in this…
Your attention was redirected as Sheerow landed on your shoulder, and you smiled a little as the small bird nuzzled into you.
“Hey buddy…” You murmured quietly, brushing his feathers with your finger.
Chirp! Sheerow swayed happily.
“Get real, Ravio.” Legend scoffed. “What’s up with you? I know you missed her…” He looked away, arms crossed. “We all did, but…” He sighed, steeling himself. “This is important. Quit kissing up, already!”
“Kissing-?” Ravio bristled, not unlike an angry cat. “This is Y/N we’re talking about! I’m not kissing up! How could you stand to pry anything from her?” Ravio gave you a soft look as he spoke.
Your face felt hot.
“You-!” Legend groaned, hands running through his hair. He seemed unsure of how to reason with Ravio.
“Let’s calm down, now.” Twilight raised his hands, giving a hesitant smile. “Just give ‘er a moment. It’s alright.” He attempted to diffuse the situation.
Ravio looked ready to retort, but you grabbed his hand before he could, stopping him in his tracks. He looked down at your hand in his, a blush spreading across his face.
He kept his mouth shut.
We’re this far in…might as well tell them the truth… You sighed.
“O…kay…” You took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to word this. “It’s, well…it’s certainly complicated…”
Legend and Twilight were quiet, staring at you in interest as they waited for your explanation.
Ravio looked at you, too. Seems like he was curious after all.
You sighed. “I’m from a different world, you two know that already.” You nodded to Legend and Twilight, before turning to Ravio. “And, um…”
Ravio smiled, thumb caressing your hand. “I suspected as much…” He brought your hand up to his cheek. “You and I are alike, really…”
You blushed, not noticing Twilight’s eye twitch or Legend’s eye-roll.
“Okay, keep going…” Legend prompted you to continue, arms crossed.
You nodded. “Right. So, uh, before, when I was…with you all…” You bit your lip thoughtfully. “I was…still in my world. I was only really…dipping a foot into this world, if that makes sense…”
“Is that why you could only take the form of a fairy?” Twilight asked, brows raised.
“Uhm…” Your head swayed from side to side. “...Yeah.”
Really, your guess is as good as mine, dude…
Legend nodded, leaning forward in interest. “Tell us more.”
You swallowed. “Well, in my world, we have something that doesn’t exist here… They’re called video games. They’re games, and…well, they’re visual.”
Your hand not occupied by Ravio’s fidgeted with your clothes. “Video games allow you to sort of…see into different worlds.” That’s not the way you would’ve described it ordinarily, but if your situation was any indicator, video games were more than just make-believe.
“It’s like…the best way I can think to describe it, is a fortune-teller looking into a crystal ball… Like, you can actually see into this place, with clarity.” You looked up to meet their eyes.
Legend’s brows were furrowed, and Twilight seemed thoughtful.
“So…the fairy…” Legend had a pensive look on his face. “It wasn’t your real body? It wasn’t the real you?”
The way he looked into your eyes at the moment made you feel like you’d be somehow betraying him by telling the truth, but you tried to shake the thought off.
“No…it wasn’t.” You hummed, trying to put together your response in a way that made sense. “It was…more like a...vessel, for me to interact with this world.”
“Wait, so…” Twilight straightened. “For you…our adventure…our time together…” His brows furrowed. “They were a…game?”
Oh shit…I’m walking on eggshells here…
“I…no…” You shook your head. “It was…it was much more than a game to me. So much more…”
And that much was true. The Legend of Zelda was a franchise that aided your childhood. You had so many memories deeply entangled with it. The series taught you so many things, about yourself and about the world…it was way more than just a stupid game to you…
Still, it would never compare to the hardship the Links had actually faced. You felt bad…they revered you for everything you’d “done” during their adventure, when in reality…you’d done it all in the comfort of your own home. In your bed, on your couch…how could any of that be called hardship?
Seeing the conflict on your face, Twilight’s eyes softened. “Oh darlin’, I didn’t mean anything towards ya…” He stood up, walking around the table to bring you in a hug.
“Whether you were really there ‘er not, technically speakin’, don’t matter…” He wrapped his arms around you, sighing. “You being there…it meant so much to me…”
You smiled a little, comforted by his words, and wrapped your arms around him.
The pelt and tiddies help too…
The Twiddies…omg…!
You refrained from giggling like a teenage girl, and failed to notice Ravio’s nasty expression towards Twilight as you hugged him.
“Okay, so…” Legend shook his head. “I’m still confused. Did this…vid-yo game allow you to…travel between time periods within our world, as you saw fit?”
Okay why was that pronunciation kind of cute- BE SERIOUS Y/N.
“U-Um…” You forced yourself to focus on his words. “Yeah, well, no…” You separated from Twilight. “I could only peek in during…adventures. Does that make sense?”
At their blank looks, you sighed. “Usually whenever Ganondorf was running amok…that’s also why…” You frowned. “I always had to…leave, afterwards…”
They all seemed to have a reaction to that. Legend’s brows furrowed, Twilight looked down, and Ravio clutched the pin on his scarf. Appears they knew all too well about that part…
“So…” You put your hands up animatedly, “These video games, allowed me a sort of…temporary passage into this world.” You bit your lip thoughtfully. “I would be sent to the era of the Link who’s facing these challenges, and I would assist during his adventure. I couldn’t go anywhere that a Link wasn’t, and…”
You sighed. “Whenever the danger was resolved, and the adventure was over, the video game would end. I’d be forced back into my own world. That’s why…I couldn’t stay…” You looked at their faces, a little worried for their responses to the outlandish information you were dumping on them.
“That…explains things…” Legend nodded slowly, staring at the table with a thoughtful expression.
Ravio nodded quickly. “That’s what you meant when you said you didn’t mean to... I see!”
Before you could turn to see Twilight’s reaction, you were hugged tightly by Ravio.
“Oh, my dear…I knew it…you missed me as much as I missed you… I’m so sorry that accursed videe-oh game separated us…” He held you firmly, squeezing your middle.
You blushed. Just as much? I don’t know about that…
Slightly embarrassed, you reciprocated his embrace.
“Give her some space, Ravio.” Legend glowered, arms crossed. Was that a hint of jealousy in his eyes?
“Well, that certainly does make sense.” Twilight smiled. “I’m just glad yer back with us, darlin’.” He put a hand on your back. “Fer good, this time, I hope.”
You smiled a little.
“Yeah, I hope so.”
For good…
…Will I ever make it home?
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
Sleeping was…interesting.
Legend offered his bed to you, and seemed insistent on having you take it, so you eventually gave in.
Since you were in the bed, Legend slept on the couch, banishing Ravio to the floor with Twilight who’d planned to use a sleeping mat from the start.
What you hadn’t expected, however, was waking up feeling like you were being smothered alive.
Opening your eyes was little help, it was too dark to see much of anything, even with a window letting cool moonlight flow into the house.
So, you resorted to your sense of touch, hands tracing slowly up the thing that was wrapped around you. You quickly came to the conclusion that it was another person.
What the…?
You were too tired to immediately understand what was going on, but as you heard a quiet groan and felt your face get pressed further into something, you started to realize.
“…Ravio?” You mumbled sleepily.
“Nnh…” He hummed quietly, pulling you closer. You weren’t entirely sure if he was awake or not.
“Ravio…” You repeated, pulling your face out of his chest and shaking him lightly.
“Mn…yes, angel?” He responded quietly, voice raspy from disuse.
Your face burned. I’m too tired to get rizzed up like this.
“What are you doing?” You asked slowly, eyes closing. They weren’t helping you out much, currently. “Why are you in the bed?”
Ravio hummed, nuzzling into you. It was then that you realized his legs were tangled in with yours. “Floor’s cold…” He murmured into your hair.
You sighed as he held you close to him.
What the hell…I let Wind cuddle me.
This was a little different, but at the moment, just going back to sleep seemed more appealing than arguing with him.
So that’s what you did.

︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
You groaned, shuffling into your boots with your eyes half-closed.
It was so early that it was still dark outside, and you were very tempted to just burrow back into your covers and sleep, but you’d made a promise to Rulie.
You were leaving Kakariko today, and Time made it clear that it would be early, so you wanted to take the opportunity to show Hyrule the great fairy fountain before you left.
You stretched thoroughly, relishing in the pop of your bones as you did so. A glance to the right of the room showed Twilight still asleep in his bed, hair mussed and limbs askew.
His face was squished against the pillow. It was a rather cute sight; and without his over-layers, you had quite the clear view of his muscles…
A not-so “cute” sight, but a no less pleasant one.
Aw, he’s so precious…
“Sleep good, wolf boy.” You whispered, blowing him a kiss before exiting your shared room.
Shutting the door gently, you looked down the hall.
Fuck…which room was he staying in again?
After some over-thinking, you shuffled two doors down and slid the door open as silently as you could.
Hyrule and Legend were sleeping inside, the former letting out light snores.
Bingo. I’m so goated.
Quietly walking up to Hyrule’s bed, you hesitated.
How should I wake him up? I don’t want to make too much noise and wake up Legend too…lord knows I’m tryna get on his good side…
After a moment, you gently brushed some of his hair out of his face, and leaned down towards him.
“Hey, wake up…Rulie…” You whispered.
He stirred, but only turned his head and settled back to sleep.
Girl if you don’t get your sleeping beauty ass up-
“Rulie…” You murmured, shaking him gently. “C’mon, honey. Wake up.”
He groaned a little, eyes twitching open and slowly focusing in on your face.
“...Y/N?”
“Rise and shine.” You said quietly, smiling. “You said you wanted to see the Great Fairy, right?”
He blinked up at you, seeming to wake up a little more at that. “Oh yeah…you want to…right now?”
You hummed in affirmation, smiling.
He nodded, giving a sweet, but somewhat sleepy, smile. You helped him out of bed and quietly snuck out of the inn once he was ready.
The sun had not yet begun to peak over the horizon, but the darkness wasn’t quite as looming as it was in the middle of the night. Thanks to the lanterns throughout the village, you could see your path just fine, but you took Hyrule’s hand anyway.
It was warm.
“She’s really sweet.” You said quietly. “I think you’ll love her.”
“She’s a Great Fairy.” He smiled. “Of course she is. I can’t wait to meet her.”
You felt a little silly being the one to introduce him, as if you were the one that knew her as well as Wild, but her apparent fondness for you made you feel a bit better about the whole thing.
Once you made it up the hill and past the shrine, the lanterns were no longer a help, making it actually necessary for you to keep hold on Hyrule. The trees’ canopy made it hard for the moonlight to illuminate your path.
Squeezing his hand, you led him through, trying to remember the way Wild had taken the day before, and knowing you’d gone the right way once the gentle glow of a blupee met your eye.
“Money bunny…” You whispered, staring at it in wonder. You’d never seen one in real life before.
They looked a little odd up close; a small furry body like a bunny, but little antler-like things on top of their heads. Its nose twitched, and once it caught sight of you it bounded off, but you didn’t mind; satisfied to have gotten a glimpse of it.
“Was that one of those blupees Wild mentioned…?” Hyrule asked, staring at the spot it had just been.
You nodded, and he made a face.
“Why would you use that thing as target practice!?” He whisper-shouted. You only giggled.
Tugging him along gently, you both awed at the sight of the fountain’s glow.
It was a beautiful thing. You wondered if you had ever actually visited the Great Fairy at night in game. Surely you’d remember a view like this…
Or maybe it was just that much better in person.
You stepped up to the spring, staring into the deep water.
Wild said you don’t need to call her…so does that mean she’ll just sense us and pop up…?
A moment passed, and just as you were getting ready to call out her name, the water started to bubble. You grinned.
“Here she comes…” You murmured. Hyrule turned from you to the water eagerly, watching in anticipation.
“MAAAH!” Her entrance was just as flamboyant the second time around, and Hyrule gasped.
“She’s so big..!”
Oh yeah…his fairies are small.
While you were sure his game failed to capture the true likeness of the Great Fairies in his time, they seemed no bigger than a regular fairy. Seeing one as large as Cotera was probably a shock.
“Oh, my darling~!” She cooed, leaning down towards the two of you. “You’ve come back to visit me so soon! I’m glad… I had grown to miss you already…” She sighed woefully.
You chuckled a little awkwardly. “O-Of course, I said I would, didn’t I?” You were still concerned about why she regarded you with such familiarity, but it made conversation a little easier, at least.
Besides, it was much preferred to her treating you with suspicion or unease.
“And you’ve brought someone new!” She put her hands together, looking at Hyrule. For a moment, she gave him a strange look, eyeing your still-linked hands, but it was gone as soon as it came.
“I can sense it…you’re a fairy child, aren’t you?” She giggled. “Such a cute little thing. You must be one of the traveling companions the hero spoke of.”
The hero…?
You supposed her wording made sense, as the Great Fairies seemed to regard Wild as just another traveler in the game, but shouldn’t she at least be on a name-to-name basis with him by now?
And if that was the case, then why did she seem to hold you in such high regard…?
“Uh…yeah. This is Hyrule, or Link.” You smiled, introducing him.
“It’s lovely to meet you… Cotera, was it?” He smiled, positively glowing under the fountain’s light.
She laughed, and due to her size, you could feel the reverberation of it. “Oh yes, that’s me. So you’ve spoken about me?” She gave you a positively sultry look. “All good things, I hope.”
“Of course, Cotera.” You laughed, waving a hand.
__
Something about seeing the Great Fairy hold such trust and love for you made Hyrule’s heart warm. And he couldn’t help but notice how…pretty you looked in the glow of the fairies…
“I just wanted to give you a visit, and Hyrule was interested in meeting you, you see.” You explained with a small, slightly nervous smile.
Hyrule had only known you for a short period of time, but he was getting good at reading your expressions. You seemed to have a small amount of social anxiety.
Though, he couldn’t blame you at all. It was possible that it was just lingering shock from your new environment, but either way, he understood completely.
He’d had to get used to interacting with others on his adventures, but that didn’t make it any more pleasant. His brothers in hero’s spirit were an exception, of course. At least, now that he had come to know and trust them.
And as he stared at your profile, interacting kindly with the Great Fairy, he found that you were quickly reaching that point as well.
__
After seeing the Great Fairy, you and Hyrule returned to the inn. The sun was just beginning to peak over the horizon, and some of the others were milling about.
Twilight was still in bed when you returned to your room, though there was evidence he’d not stayed in one place the whole time– sheets and covers askew thanks to his tossing and turning.
You thought he was asleep, and intended to sneak back into bed for a few more minutes of sleep yourself, before someone got you up to eat and get ready. Though, not for the first time, Twilight surprised you.
“Where were ye’...?” His voice was deeper than usual, and his hair was hanging over his face; he clearly wasn’t very awake.
Uh oh, did I wake him up when I left? Or did he just notice at some point that I was gone?
“Uhm…” You whispered. “Just went to do something with Hyrule before we left.”
“Mm.” He hummed in acknowledgement, before adjusting himself and nuzzling his face into his pillow. You figured that signaled the end of the conversation.
Kicking your boots off, you rolled under the covers and closed your eyes.
Realistically, you probably wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep after being up for so long, but it was still nice to rest your eyes for a few minutes.
You felt the tension start to leave your body, and let out a quiet sigh of relaxation.
…Then the door slammed open.
“Y/N! TWILIGHT! GET UP GET UP GETUP!”
Of fucking course.
“Ugh.” You sat up, suddenly feeling very tired now that you were being made to get out of bed. “What?”
There was a huff from Twilight’s side of the room, who seemed to only be burrowing deeper beneath his covers.
Wind had a grim expression on his face, but knowing him that could mean anything from ‘Spilled milk’ to ‘Ganon just parked his ass in our driveway.’
“You guys gotta wake up now! It’s super important!” He exclaimed, hand gripping the sliding door tightly.
“What is it?” You stretched. “You’re gonna wake up the whole village yelling like that.” You slid out of bed and began putting your boots back on.
So much for a rest.
“Cook doesn’t know what to make for breakfast.” His expression flattened significantly, as if even he knew his words were nowhere near as dire as he’d initially let on.
You rolled your eyes. “Fucking for real? That’s what you came in here screaming about?”
“Hn.” A noise of agreement came from Twilight, now not even visible (save for his hair) underneath his blankets.
“Listen.” Wind sniffed, putting a hand on his hip. “Breakfast is very important. It affects all of us. That includes you.” He stuck his tongue out. “Part o’ the ship, part o’ the crew… So come help!”
Before you could get out a retort, the door was slammed shut, accompanied by the sound of forceful footsteps as Wind bounded off.
You sighed, turning to Twilight after a long moment.
“Ready to face the day, big guy?” You asked with a small smile.
Only a huff came from under the blankets, reminding you of a moody dog.
Yeah. Me too, buddy.
__
After sorting out breakfast and getting everything together, (which didn’t take long, considering you weren’t camping) the chain left Kakariko.
You weren’t entirely sure where you all were headed. Time had explained it to everyone, but you hadn’t really been paying attention—too occupied with Wild’s amazing food and trading kicks with Wind under the table.
You walked behind Twilight slowly, mildly zoned out as you stared at his Ordon shield.
You had been walking behind Time and Legend, but their reflective shields were making you feel like a demon being exorcized with the blinding light they kept flashing in your eyes, so you moved to follow someone with a back a little easier on the eyes.
If you had to guess, you’d say that you’ve been walking no more than 30 minutes. So far your legs were doing alright, but you knew it was only a matter of time. You’d just barely recovered from your soreness by the end of your rest at Kakariko.
I wonder how long we’ll be in Wild’s Hyrule for. It wasn’t really all that clear in the comic how often they came across new portals, or how many Hyrules they’d been to before.
It could be any second now, or it could be months before the next time we see one is.
You bit your lip.
Or never…
Even after your awfully strange dream about Dark Link, (which you still weren’t even completely sure was real) you felt completely in the dark about the shadow’s objectives. It was clear that Dink had either a different goal than in the comic, or an additional goal, considering his interest in you.
You had no idea what he pulled all the heroes together for in the first place, nor did you have much of a gauge on his power, so it was pretty difficult to accurately estimate when and where you’d see the next portal.
If you even saw the next portal, that is.
You sighed.
This is so confusing. I don’t even wanna begin to think about how quantum physics and shit play into this. I’ve still got no idea how any of this is even remotely possible.
It’s not like you’d never considered the possibility before, or even fantasized about it, but deep down you’d fully expected such things to never come true.
It was like a scary movie. You might be scared (or perhaps excited) about the prospect for a while, and consider it a real possibility, but once those initial feelings wear off, reality will take the wheel again.
You still had half a mind to think you were dreaming.
But if I am dreaming, why am I not super fucking OP? I think if I had a dream about something I thought a lot about, it’d be a little closer to the daydreams.
Not to mention you’d gone to sleep and woken up numerous times, and you’d pinched yourself to no avail. Usually those were things that would snap you out of a dream.
Oh my god…what if this is one of things… Like where you have a dream that feels just like real life, and it goes on for multiple years before you wake up?
You’d never experienced such a thing yourself, but you’d heard stories about it. It sounded like a mildly traumatic experience. If you lived throughout years of your life, and then came to find out it was all a dream, you’d never trust anything ever again.
Is that how Legend felt after Koholint? What a trip…
When faced with the notion that everything you were experiencing might just be some weirdly lucid, long-winded dream, you felt…oddly dreadful.
Of course there would be the relief of knowing you were safe and at home, your friends and family right where you’d left them, but…
Looking around at the boys that surrounded you, you felt…really saddened that they could just be a figment of your unconscious imagination.
You’d had plenty of dreams before where you’d woken up and been disappointed to find the events of it weren’t real, but this was…on a different scale.
You’d come to know these heroes. Even befriend some of them…
Once upon a time they might’ve just been some “silly little guys” on your screen, but now they were real. They were people, just like you, and they’d be a loss you’d mourn.
It would be an especially bitter pill to swallow if you found that you’d never technically known them at all.
“Hey, you alright?”
You blinked, looking up to meet the eyes of Wars.
You felt yourself lose some tension, realizing you’d been scrunching up your face.
Your nose burned with the threat of tears, but luckily you’d managed to keep them in.
“Y- Yeah–what?” You asked quietly, unsure if he’d said anything else.
Wars smiled a little, but there were hints of concern on his face.
“You looked upset about something. Just wanted to make sure you’re okay…” He faced back forward, seeming to be giving you space in case you didn’t want to talk.
Though, that was not the case.
“Uh, no, yeah. I’m cool…I guess…but, uh…” You sped up a little, gravitating towards his side. “Can we…talk?”
“Hm?” He blinked. “Of course. Anything in particular you’d like to speak about?”
“Uh,” You swallowed. You didn’t think this far ahead. “Not…really. Just wanted to break the silence…”
Warriors nodded understandingly, turning to look at the sky.
“I think Wild has a lady friend…” His voice lowered suddenly, and he turned to you with a smirk.
You blinked.
Wait, WAIT HUH-
Warriors laughed at your bewildered look, and continued, leaning down towards you.
“I found some women’s clothes in his bag. This was a while ago, before you joined us. They were quite revealing…” He whispered, smirking.
Wow, who would’ve thought Wars was a gossip…
Who am I kidding that’s so in character-
“What color were they?” You leaned in closer, voice lowered.
Warriors hummed. “Blue. But…a girly blue.”
Your brows furrowed. Tf is a girly blue?
Wait, blue revealing women’s clothes in Wild’s bag…?
You suddenly knew exactly what he was talking about.
He found the vai clothes…pfft
You grinned. “So you think he has a lady friend that likes…girly blue clothes, and he kept them?”
Wars shrugged. “Some men like to keep such things as trophies.”
I…WAIT DOES HE THINK IT’S LINGERIE!?
Your extremely conspicuous howling laughter assured Wars would likely not be telling you secrets ever again.
__
“Ugh…sweet baby jesus.” You laid flat in the grass, sprawling your limbs out.
Hours had passed now, and as expected, your legs were screaming at you to give them a fucking break.
While passing through a forest, Time had called for a short break
“Who…?” Legend murmured, sitting not far from your slumped form on the ground.
“Your mom…” You mumbled without thinking, before realizing what you’d said. “Uh, wait, I mean- Ah, fuck it…” You were too tired to backtrack.
He gave a scoff, face somewhere between confusion and exasperation as he turned back to the apple he was peeling.
“You say Jesus a lot… is it an important figure?” Sky’s tired voice came from beside you. He seemed to have nearly as poor stamina as you did, and hadn’t hesitated to follow your example by laying down on the ground.
“Uh, I guess… Depending who you ask.” You said, gazing up at the array of leaves and branches overhead. “I say it more out of habit than anything, but to some people Jesus is a very important religious figure.”
“How interesting.” He sat up a little, turning to you. “So you worship Hylia like us, then?”
“Huh…?” You murmured, brows furrowing. “Nah. Hylia doesn’t, like, exist where I’m from.”
“What!?” Now he just seemed scandalized. “What do you- nonexistent?”
“Yur.” You nodded, though it wasn’t very fluid with your head on the ground. “Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt she exists, but back home she’s not even recognized as an urban legend.”
The Zelda lore would be flipped the fuck upside down if Hylia wasn’t real, no doubt she’s kickin’.
…Now that I think about it that’s a cool “what if” concept-
“How awful…” Sky frowned, sitting up completely now. “For all of Hylia’s love and sacrifice to be lost to time…”
I mean I don’t really fuck with Hylia, but whatever you say Sky boy.
“I think there’s more than just time between us, Sky.” You folded your arms under your head, turning towards him. “Pretty sure I come from a different world. I think Hylia truly doesn’t exist there.”
“Is that what you think…?” He mumbled thoughtfully. “But how would that work…?”
You sighed. “I’ve stopped trying to make sense of anything these days.”
“You can say that again.” Legend huffed, chewing on his apple.
Real… wait, did Legend just agree with me-?
You turned to Legend, looking him in the eyes and finding him already staring at you.
You blinked.
He held your gaze for a moment, before his cheeks flushed a little, and he looked away. “What?”
“Nothin.’” You mumbled, turning back to look at the forest canopy.
Things really aren’t making sense anymore, are they?
Sky looked between the two of you in confusion.
__
“Yeah, it’s pretty fucked up. Don’t even get me started on the public education system.” You shrugged.
You’d been back on the road for a while, opting to talk to Warriors and Hyrule about knowledge economies. They (well, mostly Hyrule) were confused about why such extensive education was a mandatory thing in your home.
“Guys!” Wind distracted you from your long-winded explanation (and rant.)
“Look, over there!” He pointed to an area above the trees, where a flock of birds were flying overhead.
“Hm?” I mean, it’s birds…big whoop.
“The wind is disturbed…” He said eerily, eyes locked on the birds.
“I sense it as well.” Time nodded, gaze trained on the scene. “There is a great deal of magic concentrated over there.”
How the fuck can y’all tell that- this is like those people who can smell rain-
“We should investigate.” Time said, turning to the group.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea to go off trail?” Wars questioned, arms crossed. He could be pretty no-nonsense when schedules were involved.
“Do you suggest we ignore it? There’s a chance it could relate to the shadow.” Time countered, giving Wars a look that probably wasn’t supposed to be as scathing as it was.
“Right…” Wars agreed, nodding. Either he was seeing reason, or he was seeing Time’s resting bitch face and he didn’t like it.
“Maybe it’s another portal…” Hyrule murmured in interest, following Time and Wind as they headed for the clearing.
“Gah…I hope not.” Wild frowned. He’d just gotten back home.
“I do.” Legend scoffed. “No offense, cook, but your Hyrule is fuckin’ weird.” His arms were crossed.
Wild rolled his eyes. “That’s just because you haven’t had enough time to properly enjoy it!”
“I like it.” You smiled at Wild, who’s flat expression softened.
Wild’s home was one of the most fleshed out of all the Hyrules. So it wasn’t quite as much of an adjustment as the others probably would be.
“Thanks, Y/N.” He smiled. “I’m sure your home is just as lovely.”
Ehhh…debatable.
“Woah, the traveler was right.” Sky gasped, pushing through the foliage to see an ominously glowing purple portal.
“It never seems to end, huh?” Four murmured, staring at the amalgamation of dark magic.
“It’s a good thing we came this way.” Time had a hard look on his face. “You all know what to do with this.”
So we’re gonna go through it, huh? No beating around the bush? I wonder where it’ll take us…
A strange whisper slithered through your ears, and you shivered as you felt the sensation of something brushing against the back of your neck.
You brought a hand up to your neck, looking around for anything off, but only felt even more uneasy when you found nothing.
“Um, can we just do this, then?” You asked, stepping forward a little so as not to be at the end of the chain.
“Yer’ the last person I thought would be itchin’ to go through one of these.” Twilight frowned, but you brushed him off.
“I just…want to get this over with.” You walked up to the big black and purple monstrosity. Up close, it kind of reminded you of a Nether portal.
Is this the thing that brought me here…? It’s so intimidating…
Doing a quick count of 3 in your head, you held your breath and forced yourself through the threshold before you could chicken out.
__
It was a sensation unlike any other, you were spinning and falling and running and dying. You felt time and place flit about around you, your skin stretching and bones narrowing as the very atoms of your existence squeezed and restructured to obey the sudden change in physics, space, and time.
Your stomach lurched, and you suddenly felt unsure of anything. Where were you? How long had you been here?
Who were you…?
Then, all at once, it stopped.
Stumbling forward, you nearly ate dirt on the ground before you caught yourself, a sudden bout of nausea flaring as you righted yourself.
Ugh…what the fuck…
That was simultaneously the coolest and most terrible thing you’d ever experienced. Your head was spinning, and you found you really didn’t like the sensation.
“Ugh…” A groan sounded from behind you, and you turned slowly so as not to upset your dizzy mind.
Wind was holding his head in place, as if it would roll right off his shoulders, though he didn’t stumble the way you did coming out of the portal.
The others were soon to follow, all in varying states of disarray after traveling through the gate.
Time looked the least affected; besides the most subtle cinch in his brow, he looked as uptight as normal.
Four and Sky seemed the most put off by it, leaning on the others or taking a seat to get their heads back on straight.
“...Anyone got any idea where we are?” Wild rubbed his forehead, giving the surrounding area a cursory glance.
“Yeah, I recognize these woods.” Legend said after getting his bearings. “Guess I got my wish…this looks like home.”
__
Legend’s house was…cuter than you’d expected.
He had a little orchard! And a purple birdy weather vane!
You had played the game, but that was right after it came out, so there were a lot of small details you blanked on, like what his house had looked like.
It was clearly only meant for one person, but everyone made it work. Most of the others had just made themselves comfortable, Wind flopping right onto Legend’s bed and the others getting into things to their hearts’ content.
Legend sure lived up to his nickname of “hoarder.” He apparently had a shed behind his house where he kept most of the things he’d collected from his adventures, but there were also quite a few things strewn about inside the house.
Instruments of different kinds, little keepsakes (which could be magical, for all you knew. You refrained from touching anything.) and all kinds of different clothes. You were grinning like mad when you saw his old tunics.
I can’t believe he wore these, some of them are so small! If we were a little closer I’d get into them, but I don’t want to push any boundaries…
You were kind of dying to try on a hero’s tunic for yourself. It would literally be the most accurate cosplay material ever; but you knew it would be weird to ask, and even weirder to do without saying anything.
One day I will. For sure. Maybe Rulie would let me try his on? I wonder if he still has his hat…
Legend was in the shed, going through some things and trading out some gear, you figured. The others were about either in the house or outside. It really was a quaint little place.
This is so cottage-core. I could totally live here forever and just go into the village barefoot for my daily stall-shopping and fruit-picking.
The sun was still up, but it would be less than an hour before it started to go down, so a few of the others were already gathering firewood.
Most of the chain had started to gravitate outside due to the lack of space in the house (and a few may or may not have been reprimanded by Legend for touching things).
You chatted with Four as you sat by the fire pit. You’d passed by a blacksmith on the way to Legend’s house, and Four was interested in seeing some of their craftsmanship.
“We should check it out.” You nodded, smiling. “I’ve never been to a forge before.”
“Really?” Four’s brows rose. “Is there not one near your home?”
“Nah. I mean, they’re around, of course, but not quite as much of a necessity as they are here.” You explained.
“Blacksmiths, not a necessity? How queer.” Wars crossed his arms. “How does one procure weapons?”
“Well, like I said, they’re still around, and in use.” You waved a hand. “Just…not as necessary. Thanks to industrialization, I suppose. And, monsters don’t run rampant the way they do here…so weapons aren’t quite as important to have on your person.”
“That’s not the first time you’ve mentioned industrialization. It must play quite the role in the going-ons of your world.” Four hummed.
“Oh yeah.” You nodded. “Industrialization changed everything.” You crossed your arms. “Mostly for the better, but it’s brought about plenty of negatives, too.”
“Like what?” Wind asked attentively.
“Like that odd smell.” Twilight huffed.
“Huh? What smell?” You asked, turning to him.
Oh no… AM I STINKY-?
Mortifying.
“When ya’s first came around, ya smelled funny. Like…” His face scrunched up, trying to put words to something that he didn’t have. “How a no-good plant tastes. Somethin’ bad for ya’.”
So I smelled like poisonous flora…? He must mean chemicals…
“Wasn’t you, necessarily.” Twilight backtracked when he saw your expression. “Just…hangin’ over ya’.”
“Yeah… That was probably the pollution.” You nodded slowly.
Or maybe the chemicals in my soap? I’m sure his nose isn’t used to such a strong cleaning solution.
“Pollution?” Wild tilted his head.
“Mhm.” You hummed. “The air, water, earth, weather, even noise and light… Humans have made a mess of it back home.”
Not that I’m any better, I contribute to it just by being a part of a gridded-society…
“How does one pollute light and noise…?” Time asked, a considering expression on his face.
“Hm…” You fidgeted with the ends of your hair. “With the industrial revolution, lots of innovation followed. Humans created all kinds of technology that advanced our society, but pretty much all kinds of technology…emit something.”
You sighed. “Machines emit smoke or light or noise, or sometimes all of those things, and with so many machines, it starts to affect things.”
You looked up at the sky, even though it was only dusk, you could see multiple stars shining.
“With all the things we have emitting light, a sort of layer of light has been cast over the sky, and it blocks the stars from our view. Their natural light is lost to us. At least, in many parts of the world, that’s the case.”
You frowned. “And that’s just the case for light pollution. It’s arguably one of the least harmful pollution issues.”
“Sounds like it sucks.” Legend said flatly.
When did he join us-?
You weren’t entirely sure if he was implying something about your world, or just genuinely agreeing that it was an unfortunate issue. So, you only nodded.
“Yeah, but there’s things to enjoy back home, too. Like…truth or dare.” You smirked as the idea came to you.
It could be a fun way to unwind with the others.
It’s been ages since I’ve played a game like that…
You were amused by the wary look Legend was giving you.
“What is that?” Sky tilted his head.
For a second, you thought it was a case of Sky being out of the loop, (which actually happened fairly often, he grew up relatively sheltered compared to the others) but as the others gave you confused and interested looks, you raised your brows.
“Y’all never heard of it?”
When you were met with multiple head shakes, you blinked.
“Damn, what the fuck do y’all do around here.”
Legend scoffed. “All kinds of shit, I’ll have you know-”
“Yeah whatever.” You cut him off, leaning forward. “So basically, this is how the game works. It’s pretty simple.”
Legend glowered at you, but stayed quiet as the others leaned in attentively.
“You gather ‘round with everyone that’s playing, and you take turns asking someone ‘truth, or dare?’ You can pick who you ask, and after they answer the question, it’s their turn to pick someone.”
Hyrule tilted his head. “But what do you mean by ‘truth or dare’?”
You smiled. “I’m so glad you asked, fairy boy.” You reveled in his blush.“If the person answers with ‘truth,’ then you ask them a question, and they have to answer it truthfully, no matter how embarrassing or secret it may be. If they say dare, then you tell them to do something, and they have to do it. Pick your poison, basically.”
“The rules seem simple enough.” Time nodded, arms crossed. “But what binds the player to do the other’s bidding?”
You shrugged. “If you really don’t want to, you can opt out of answering a question or doing a dare, of course.” You smiled deviously. “...If you’re chicken, that is… Er- Cucco.”
“I ain’t no cucco.” Wind puffed up. Seemed like he was in.
Sky nodded. “Sounds fun.”
“I remember playin’ similar games when I was a youngin’.” Twilight nodded, smiling.
You noticed Warriors and Legend giving each other a competitive look.
“Cool.” You clapped your hands. “So everyone’s in?”
There were some more affirmations, and Wild looked to Time. “Even you, old man?”
Time gave a single nod. “This is a time of recuperation for the group. I see no harm in participating in a game. And it is nice to learn something new about your home.” He aimed a miniscule smile at you.
You blushed. It’s just a dumb kid’s game…
“Okay, we’ll go around in a circle like this.” You pointed around the group in a clockwise motion. “Who wants to go first?”
“I will!” Wind shot his hand up, and immediately started scouring for his target.
He grinned mischievously. “Rancher, truth or dare?”
Twilight had such a contemplative look on his face that you began to wonder just how hard he was thinking about it. It was a child’s game, not life or death.
Finally, he crossed his arms. “Dare.”
Of course.
Wind suppressed a maniacal giggle. “You gotta-”
“Oh,” You put a hand up. “When you give them a task, you have to say ‘I dare you’.”
Did I not explain that? Whoops.
Wind didn’t lose any steam. “Take off all your clothes and go jump in the water. I dare you.”
“Wh-? All my-? People will see!” He blushed, giving you a glance.
Wind shrugged, grinning. “It’s dark.”
“I don’t even- what water?” He made an incredulous face.
“There’s a pond just south of here. It’s pretty deep.” Legend smirked.
“Oh yeah.” Hyrule grinned. “You gonna do it?”
“I…” Twilight blinked, before turning to Time.
Time’s eyes were closed, but the smirk that came over his face was telling.
“We’re quite far from the village. There’s no need to be afraid.”
The others erupted in laughter at Time’s words, while Twilight looked betrayed.
“Old man, you too!?”
__
You giggled incessantly, but gave Twilight the mercy of covering your eyes, at his request.
You’d all walked down to the pond, Twilight complaining the whole way, but refusing to tap out.
“I’ll be damn’d if I’m the first one declared cucco.” He huffed. “But I will have my payback, sailor.”
Wind had a sinister grin on his face. “Yeah, whatever you say, rancher. Now get naked!”
Wind cackled as Twilight flushed, turning to you.
You sighed, putting your hands over your eyes.
I high-key wanted an eye-full of Twilight ass but fiiiine. Respecting boundaries and shit.
…Even if it’s truth or dare.
You giggled as you heard the shuffling of fabric as Twilight undressed, but blushed when you heard the clinking of a belt.
We’ve got to stay focused brothers, we’ve GOT to stay focused-
Wind’s sinister laughter stopped for a moment.
“Woah! How are you so muscular? Even down there-”
HYLIA WHY DO YOU TEST MY RESOLVE-
“Shut up!” Twilight’s voice was uncharacteristically shy, prompting a few laughs from the others.
“This is gonna be good…” Wild snorted, Sky murmuring in agreement.
Twilight sighed. “I’m only gonna do this once, and ya’d better keep y’all’s cameras to yer-selves.” He warned, and you giggled.
I sincerely hope they disobey him.
Then, there was the patter of footsteps as Twilight took a running start, and the tell-tale ‘SPLOOSH’ of him landing in the water.
“AH! It’s cold!”
Everyone promptly busted out laughing.
You took your hands off your eyes when you were sure he was in the water. It was far too dark to be able to see anything submerged, so he was safe.
“Done like a true man.” Warriors laughed, and Twilight groaned.
“Get me out of here.” He swam to the edge of the pond, which his clothes weren’t too far from.
Unfortunately, the rancher’s torment was far from over, as Wind scooped up his clothes with a maniacal laugh and took off running.
“You want them? Come get them!” Wind grinned, the clothes heaped up in his arms as he grinned.
“SAILOR! THIS WASN’T PART OF THE DARE!”
You laughed so hard your stomach hurt, and even in the dim moonlight you could see the mortified and betrayed expression on Twilight’s face clearly.
“Maybe I’ll give ‘em back after your turn!” Wind yelled, voice echoing in the night.
Twilight scowled, ears twitching in what was either anger or embarrassment. “Ugh! Truth or dare, anybody!”
You smiled. “Dare!”
“I dare you to get my clothes back from the sailor!”
You and Wind shared a look for about 2 seconds, before you both took off sprinting.
Not sure if I have the stamina to outdo him, but at least it’s not an embarrassing dare.
You laughed to yourself. I think I’d die if I was in Twilight’s position right now.
For someone that had been complaining about their legs hurting so much, you were able to push them mofos.
Maybe all the laughing had given you some extra energy.
Still, Wind was keeping some distance on you. He was a fast little fucker.
You chased him around, the others laughing at Wind’s screaming on a few close calls, and you slowly managed to herd him closer to the pond.
You had a half-baked plan that maybe if you got him close enough to Twilight then he could grab onto Wind’s legs and knock him down, securing your victory.
Yeah…that plan kind of backfired on you.
You had him heading straight for Twilight, and you were grinning like a mad-man at the fact, but at just the last second he swerved, turning and changing course at such a speed you could never hope to replicate.
And with a hop, skip, and trip in the grass, you went stumbling into the pond. Right onto Twilight.
“AH-!” There was a splash, but Twilight absorbed most of the force from your body, since you practically fell right on top of him.
“Pfft HAHAHA-” Wind belly laughed at your misfortune, dropping the clothes on the ground as you flailed about in the water.
“Wind!” Sky exclaimed. “What if she can’t swim!?”
Hyrule and Wild shared his concerns, both looking about ready to jump in themselves, but Four just hummed.
“Twilight’s in there.”
“BUT HE’S NAKED-”
Time sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Things always had to go haywire with this bunch.
You could swim, thank the heavens, but you were kind of panicking. Your clothes and your phone were drenched, and a fucking naked Twilight was right under you-
So yeah, you were flailing a little.
Two strong hands came to hold your waist, stabilizing you in the water.
You gasped as the cold water seeped into your clothes, and fished your phone out of your pocket, throwing it into the grass. You prayed it would still work after this mess.
Twilight was hovering awkwardly a few inches from you, trying to help you stay afloat without pressing his bare body to yours. His legs were kicking quickly as he kept both your heads over the water.
You breathed heavily, starting to use your own limbs in the water to help out Twilight.
Jesus… this ain’t what I meant when I said y’all make me wet-
“It’s…” You shivered. “Really cold. Christ…” Your teeth chattered a little.
Twilight nodded, panting a little. “Yeah, I’m so sorry… It’s…” He trailed off, a look of surprise slowly coming over his face.
__
“Agh! Christ, it’s cold! Link, help!”
He’d fished you out of the water after a cat tried to make off with you, your wings fluttering uselessly as you struggled in the large body of water.
Your tiny form shivered in his hands, and you wrapped your arms around his thumb.
“Eugh…thank you. My hero…”
__
You didn’t notice at first, too busy trying to adjust to the temperature (Twilight was slightly warmer than you, so you weren’t too quick to pull away from him), but eventually you noticed his look of awe.
“Uhh…T- Twilight?” You murmured, voice low. “...You good?”
“You…” He looked over your face carefully. “Y/N…”
You blushed. “Uh. Yeah?”
He gasped, before crushing you in a hug.
“AH-” You started freaking out again, flailing just a little as his whole body pressed against yours.
I can feel it, I CAN FEEL IT-
“I remember now! How- How could I have forgotten. Y/N…” He murmured into your hair, squeezing you tight. “I missed you so much…”
Huh? Did I hit his head falling in-? WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?
“Hey, get a room!” Warriors exclaimed.
“Yeah,” Legend scoffed, arms crossed. “Are you trying to drown Y/N, rancher?”
You were splashing about in the water, struggling to keep the both of you up as he had both his arms wrapped around you.
As if just now realizing his position, Twilight pulled away like he was burned. “Gah! I’m so sorry, darlin’.” He said lowly.
“It’s uh-?” Your face was burning red. “It’s okay.” You didn’t feel cold at all, anymore.
Twilight pushed you gently towards the edge of the pond, helping you climb out.
You shivered, but were glad to be out of the chilled water.
“I guess you’ve suffered enough.” Wind shrugged, letting you pick up Twilight’s clothes and set them closer to the edge of the water. “We should head back.”
In reality, he was probably just getting hungry.
“Oh you guess?” You splashed Wind with some water you’d ringed out of your clothes. “Yeah, okay little brat.”
“Ah!” He sprang back, laughing. “Hey!”
__
“Ugh…” You collapsed onto your bedroll (finally having one to call your own, thanks to Time) hair still damp.
The others had gone on with the game for a little longer once you got back, but you and Twilight opted out–you forfeiting your turn.
You’d removed the case and charms off your phone and pleaded with Legend to borrow some of his rice (he had some, thank Hylia) for it. You explained that the water was really damaging to its parts, and he was reluctant to help after seeing the strange device, but Time vouched for you.
While you were soaking it in rice, Twilight approached you.
You asked him about his revelation, and he’d gone on and on about how much you aided him on his adventure. How you’d guided him and always been there for him, even after Midna left.
Though…not long after that, you’d disappeared too. His memory of you had faded and he’d returned to his normal life, but now he remembered.
He remembered, and how he’d missed you.
He’d hugged you tightly, shaking just a little.
So…all that time, Twilight knew I was there? All those puzzles and challenges and bosses, he knew I helped with those?
You couldn’t believe it, but you’d be lying if you said you weren’t overjoyed by the fact.
So…he knows me…sort of like I know him… This is amazing!
You were content to just hug him for a while, letting him squeeze you and press his face into your neck.
“Y/N…”
You’d smiled, feeling a little high on life as you combed your fingers through his hair.
I’m hugging Twilight…and he likes me…this is awesome…
“Can you tell me something…?” He murmured, voice low.
“Of course…” You responded, still holding him.
“Why…did you leave?” His voice was smaller, a little more vulnerable.
It pinched your heart.
“Oh, Twilight…” You squeezed him, and he responded by pressing his body closer against yours.
“It was out of my control. I swear to you, I would have stayed, but I couldn’t…”
The game had to end at some point…
He sighed, nodding into your neck. “I understand…”
“But, hey…” You patted his back, prompting him to pull back. “I’m here now, okay? Let’s make up for lost time together.” You smiled.
He looked into your eyes with a soft expression. “Yeah… I can’t wait.” He smiled gently.
You smiled widely, but a thought was gnawing at the back of your mind.
But what about…when it’s time to go home?
Just like the game, this adventure couldn’t last forever.
__
You sighed, looking up at the ceiling as you pondered your interaction with Twilight.
While a weird sight for the others, you were pretty sure none of them had been able to hear Twilight’s words when you were in the pond, so luckily you didn’t have any questions to answer.
Though, it was possible Twilight would spill the beans to the others. He seemed pretty excited about it.
Not that you could blame him.
Everyone was inside for the most part now, chilling with one activity or another.
While he wasn’t exactly jumping for joy, you could tell Legend was happy to be back home. He was a little less tense than usual, smiling and cracking jokes just a little more.
He was also wearing an undertunic you hadn’t seen before, likely eager for the opportunity to switch out his clothes.
And you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like the way it complimented his figure…
You were taken out of your staring (ogling) by the sound of the door creaking open.
At first you’d thought it was Time and Wars returning, as they’d gone out to patrol for black-bloods, but you were surprised to find a different person entirely.
“Mr. Hero~ I see you’re back home! How- eh?” Ravio stopped, a look of surprise coming over his face as he turned from the door.
8 pairs of eyes stared back at him.

Of the Pirates
He was a young man, by his side, his crew,
His friends, who remained always true.
A carefree boy with no sense of near dangers,
He runs wild, no wary of strangers.
Around he goes, the ship rocking
With a game of tag, continuously awaiting the next docking.
Looking ahead with a hand on his hat, made of straw,
Always grinning at approaching islands he saw.
“Land-ho!” he would yell excitedly,
At the thought of a new journey nearing steadily.
Upon arrival, he would run off with a sense of excitement filling his heart,
Never minding the shouts of protest from his friends that he had part.
He rushes on, exploring every inch he can,
Visiting the towns and nearby forests without a care for a plan.
He makes it a game, always his style,
Awaiting for his crew to find him, he ventures on with a merry smile.
No worries he shall bring,
For one day he will be King.
Childish, Adventurous
