My T-shirt with the entire text of Borges' theoretical Library of Babel is raising a lot of questions already answered by the shirt, somewhere.

“Since Hamilton’s debut, Miranda has become a household name and rock star to the NPR set. He used this reserve of cultural capital to advocate for the passing of PROMESA [Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act], which along with forming La Junta gutted social services in Puerto Rico, eliminated pensions for public-sector employees, and closed over 500 schools. The bill’s effect on the whole range of public programs and institutions in Puerto Rico rivals the violence of austerity measures imposed by the E.U. on the Greek people.”

Something that I get chills about is the fact that the oldest story told made by the oldest civilization opens with "In those days, in those distant days, in those ancient nights."
This confirms that there is a civilization older than the Sumerians that we have yet to find
Some people get existential dread from this
Me? I think it's fucking awesome it shows just how much of this world we have yet to discover and that is just fascinating

there is a frequent refrain from politically illiterate cis men that i hear quite frequently, that "being a man sucks" nowadays because no one likes them (for their inherently violent and controlling social position, but they'll be the last ones to figure that detail out). yes, indeed, it sucks to them so much that they complain that women are becoming lesbians just to avoid them and that no one appreciates them for their acts of physical prowess (violence against other men and sometimes women if they think they can get away with it), and that so many of their own numbers are jumping ship to join the other team by transitioning! and if you ask them what defines men and masculinity for them, then they will tell you that it is largely a matter of physical exertion. yes, men are defined by hardship and thankless labor. no wonder you people are unhappy.
and so whenever I see a politically illiterate transmasc stumble onto a tgirl's post interpreting an amab character as a clear transfem egg using sources from the text and authorial intent to prove their point, only to have that smelly boy insist that because he is a man and because he is unhappy, that character must be transmasc, I cannot help but think about those weirdo incels I work with who seemed trapped inside their own self-perception, prisoners to masculinity.
if being a man sucks so much, if it is so much of a burden that every waking day is a terror of not being seen as "man enough" by your crabs-in-a-bucket male peers, then become something, anything else. it worked for me, and i've never been happier!

I'm thinking about Nevada by Imogen Binnie again on this Saturday night. I'm thinking about how incredible this book is and how I think every trans woman should read it. I'm thinking about how smart and intelligent it's written while also being an absolute joy to read. I'm thinking about how well these characters capture people I've met. How all of the main characters are trying in vain to get as far away from their problems as they can, and how relatable it feels as a young trans woman. I think about how I've often tried to avoid problems in my life, by getting away as far as possible and just indulging in myself. I've never stolen a car, I've never huddled up in a hotel and done heroin, but it still feels so relatable to the sense of avoidance that's so common in trans women. Even though the novel was written over a decade ago, it still feels so poignant and relevant today. I'm probably going to be thinking about this book for as long as I can. I remember when I was riding home with some trans women they said that I should reread Nevada in about 10 years or so, and I probably will. I wonder how many eggs have been cracked because of this novel, how many lives have been changed. I aspire to create something as influential on trans people as Nevada is.
Thank you for reading my silly book ramblings. Have a great day, I love you
t4t will save us all.

Laptops are always so much more Fucked than phones in my experience. A laptop is like a beautiful horse that wants nothing more than to break all of its legs. A decently solid android phone will act normal
