Bierstadt by Ryan Dyar As a huge fan of Hudson River School painters, even before picking up a camera, I was always drawn to the works from the likes of Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, etc. I try to recreate that style of light and atmosphere in my images… emphasis on “try” though. But compositionally I often don’t find myself mimicking that era. However, on this morning in the Canadian Rockies I found myself framing this image and thinking “oh damn, this is like a shitty version of a Bierstadt composition.”
