Dear Yuletide Author

dear yuletide author,

SO EXCITED to be doing this again. I am flexible and if there's something you really like feel free to write it.

Things I like in general: - Angst, misunderstandings, omnidirectional pining; with happy endings - Dialogue where you say less than you feel or intend - Roadblocks in the path to romance - Just enough plot to carry the character-based story - Any rating is great but M and up is A+

Things I don't really like: - Any sort of really sleazy or over-explanatory dialogue or behavior

Some prompts (some reused from last year...):

The Charioteer

- Any scene with Ralph and Laurie together after the end of the book, either short-term or long-term. Talking. (and still in love). - Andrew meets Laurie again after 5 years. Andrew still loves Laurie and can't believe Laurie is with Ralph. Bonus: Andrew and Ralph fight over Laurie and Ralph wins (again). - AU: Age reversal. Ralph thinks his really sweet-tempered head of school doesn't notice him. - AU: Laurie ends up in Alec's hospital first and Alec flirts with Laurie. - The scene right after Laurie says "I had to come back" (because I can't get enough of post canon fic.) - Ralph and Bunny. Bunny is a bit of a nymphomaniac and Ralph gets a headache and tries to hold it together - Sandy leaves Alec in a dramatic rage after the events of the book. Alec is stoic but really likes Sandy despite it all and finds a way to get back together with him.

Captive Prince

- Prompts based on the favorite line "Thank you, I know exactly how it would have been. You and Auguste would have been slapping each other on the back and watching tournaments, and I would have been trailing around tugging on your sleeve, trying to get a look in edgewise." Auguste’s younger brother is trailing him around, but Damen wouldn't ever do anything because Auguste would kill him. - Laurent gets taken as a prisoner of war after Marlas. - AU: Role reversal. Damen is the frigid one. He's seen the evils of slavery. He doesn't even like sleeping with anyone who knows who he is because he knows they do it just because he's the prince. - AU: Nikandros was Damen's first boyfriend and they were together when Damen got kidnapped. He misses Nikandros all the time and completely ignores Laurent who, you know, he thinks is a viper. - Playful lazar & overserious pallas. Pallas thinks, why is this guy wolf whistling at me? - happy ending for damen/laurent, 1-5 years out. damen being stoic & wonderful, laurent being high maintenance, &c. - laurent using sneaky genius to do something special for damen

Persuasion

- anne & wentworth, first year together - wentworth POV in bath - AU where anne & wentworth accidentally run into each other 3 years after she first refuses him - ... if you are feeling very indulgent i think i’d love to read a queer persuasion AU where anne eliot had been born male & w/ equal amounts of angst

Iwaizumi stared at his locker for a moment then shoved his shirt in. "Are you insane?" he said evenly. "That would be really weird, wouldn't it? I think a stray volleyball must have hit you in the head too hard."

"That Russian kid Yuri Plisetsky is spitting mad," one of the junior Swiss skaters said over practice one day, texting furiously. "Says Victor Nikiforov temporarily lost his mind over a Youtube video of a fat kid trying to skate his program and now he's taking tourist photos from Japan."
