I just know Prospero is the first hater of cheap fanfic tropes.
Prospero: only one bed my ass.
Montresor: ~?
Prospero: there are not enough words in any language I know to describe my deep disgust for you at this particular moment.
So I guess Prospero had to spend some time moving the beds apart. It's funny to imagine him stumbling into a bedroom with a half-dead Montresor, seeing the beds pushed together and thinking, "NO WAY ONLY OVER MY DEAD BO— oh wait right"

Every now and then I remember that Monty has wings. Well, the stumps of the wings. And I'm absolutely definitely pretty much normal about them. Or about what it means for his character to be not just a devil but a fallen angel. And how it relates to the fact that Will is literally Icarus who lost his wings and was blinded by the sun like Lucifer by pride .

Yeah. So normal about it.

So basically if you fuse Duke and Pluto you get Mr. Mistoffelees.

#fuse together?#you mean#their lovechild?#< prev tags#I was referring to the fuse more like in Steven Universe style#cause you know#lovechild don't have to be a perfect combination of their parents#genetics don't work that way

Monty's hair looks like he's never washed it in his life and at the same time like he's a shampoo commercial star.
Like cmon look at this diva

My bestie is absolutely convinced that Montresor has never washed in his life, so I made this for her!

I’ll definitely make a better version for this, but I like it!

So you claim that the Academy staff is resided in the Dreamland but at the same time Dolly says that they have no way of contacting the deans while they are there.

It is possible that she means that they do not have time to get to Dreamland and ask the deans for help because in the absence of Dolly and Poppet there is no one to protect the students.
But that would mean "no time" while she says "no way" which means Dolly and Poppet simply does not have free access to Dreamland. In that case what are the "rest of the staff" referred to in the letter?

Sometimes I think how that one Prospero's line was technically directed at Lenore, but it perfectly describes Montresor. And just a couple of chapters before that Montresor says in plain text the two of them are more similar than they seem at first glance.

Monty, it's your doppelganger twink was supposed to be a reflection of everyone else, not you.

Just look at how gloating and smug Poppet looks in Ada's manifesting scene. She doesn't care about the ruined auditorium. She doesn't care that students might get hurt, even die. She's just thrilled that another one of her mentees got a spectre.

She reacts with similar delight to Annabel's manifesting (maybe less gloating). Annabel is in pain, she's asking for help, but all Poppet focuses on is how beautiful, powerful, tragic et cetera she is.

I mean of course Poppet's seen it a million times in different ways. She probably stopped reacting with proper empathy a long time ago (if she ever did in the first place).
In the end it seems that the well-being and safety of these kids is not Poppet's responsibility. Do you know who really puts the safety of students above all else as if it were her duty even though she doesn't look very warmhearted about it?
Yeah, Dolly.

Well she's a nurse. Obviously her primary work responsibility is to maintain students' health and minimize injuries or at least their consequences, because they get injured mostly in class under Poppet's 'caring' eye. Poppet meanwhile is a teacher, she has to explain how the academy and the spectres work, so it's in her best interest to awaken as many spectres as possible (I'm not really sure why though). I'm beginning to understand how their tasks complement and contradict each other. Dolly is cold and harsh, but she cares about the students, while Poppet is sensitive and attentive, but she dgaf.
I was also hooked by Poppet's remark about "the deans are going to be upset." Why all of a sudden? Most likely the students attacked by the hounds are mostly spectreless. It is logical to assume that the deans will be no more upset than losing a couple of cards from the deck. How valuable are students to deans in general?
Or will they be upset that Dolly didn't do her job?
Children playing with dolls give them roles. What is a doll if not a tool for imitating reality? So my question is: who gave these two their roles? Have they always had it?

This is not the only image of the ship in the Academy, it appears here and there. With all these sea pictures and the legend of Charon mentioned I wonder if the only way to escape from the Academy is to sail away on a ship? I bet the deans aren't thrilled about this prospect, especially considering the tentacles attacking the ship.

Logically this doesn't make much sense because the characters don't want to escape from the island - they want to reach the other shore, where the threshold is located.
But you know, Poe loved the sea. It is often mentioned in his works. And Nevermore is literally a "kingdom by the sea". I'm curious if this will be somehow played out in the comic. After all there must be at least something behind all this big water.
Someone has probably already said this but the clouds on the common room ceiling look like tentacles
