I hope no one is sleeping on Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island. It's beautifully shot with vibrant colors and the carefree feeling of youth permeates throughout the first half of the series. The second half deals more with painful pining and finding the courage to face and accept one's self. All's wells that ends well though, and there is a very satisfying happy ending. The acting is on point, the actors have great chemistry and the kissing was realistic and passionate.

The only negative was the subtitles. There were quite a few mistranslations, some which did change the meaning of a particular scene, though nothing egregious enough to detract from the overall plot. The subtitles are also hardsubed in tiny font, with no softsubs available. I'm old and I'm sure many others are too. That tiny font does no one any favors.

I'm obsessed with the way Liu Yihe always wraps his arms around Hu Yichen's waist to pull him close when they kiss. Dying at the hands on the ass. 😂

I actually like this version of the bookshelf kiss even more than the one they used in the series. The hugs at the end. 🥹

like the function of communication is not to minimise immediate discomfort. we gotta be able to talk about stuff that's hard or sucks or causes difficult conversations.
