은/는 vs 이/가
Learned about the difference between 은/는 and 이/가. The concept feels complex, but when you connect the dots, is a lot simpler.

The baby 아기 is the topic of the sentence, it's what we're referring to overall 아기는 In this scene, a book 책 is owned 있습니다, by who? The baby, of course, thus 책이 아기는책이있습다 a book owned (by a baby)
"owned" in a more physical sense, as 있습니다 is to have.
A good way to think of 은/는 in a more Korean->English sense: 저는 "on the topic of me" / 그는 "on the topic of him / 아기는 "on the topic of the baby" 저는책이있습니다 "on the topic of me having a book" can be simplified to "I have (am having) a book"
Another example I had a hard time wrapping my head around 그는 제 친구입니다 vs 저는 그의 친구입니다 "He is my friend" / "I am his friend" The topic of sentence 1 is "him" so 제친구입니다 "my friend" is "him" Sentence 2, I am the topic, 그의친구입니다 "his friend" is "me". It's purely a word choice (?) thing
In conclusion, the best approach to Korean articles as a native English speaker is not to think about it too much. Learning a new language is kind of like entering unknown territory, so you'll jump at things you don't have time to unpack. Just take what you need from it and move on, take it slow.

Status update:
The commission with Hawklinne is finished. It was a huge experimental undertaking for me, massively improving my skills like becoming comfortable with freehand work. I finally got to show my mettle in something other than geometric sci-fi/tech, I'm so absolutely extatic about this.
I'm brainstorming a way to present the finished product, but I want to want on Hawk to get her model before I make the video and previews. Yes, a video! I've always wanted to make a video for my completed work but never took it seriously enough to care so I'd like to take the extra effort this time while I wait for the things I need.
In the meantime I'll be working on my personal overlay and another for Corea Hyokibo, their overlay being a display of the best I have to offer.

Having to join someone's Discord to get help instead of finding the answer on a forum or webpage is like if you asked someone on the street for directions, and they said they'd only tell you if you came over to their house.

Working a lil bit on the starting screen of the commission. I'm excited to refine the curls more and make much nicer trees! The color placement for the horizon will be pretty hard to figure out though

I made my own damask pattern and overlaid a sandstone texture to make it look like wallpaper. I'm loving the way it looks so far - now to find a nice wood texture
I learned how to scatter and vary sizes much easier. This isn't what I'm looking for with the star background, but I'm just so happy to find this technique, I had to share
