honestly love that lapis became a pants girlie. she spent so much of the show being vulnerable and victimized and so much of her design was this abject femininity and fragility, even moreso than pearl's outfits, which kinda came to contrast with her increasingly cynical personality. and then she finds the resolve to fight, and her new form is so... practical? it's grounded and simple and casual. she's practically wearing sweatpants. it's the exact opposite of the idealized femininity of her original design. and the way she's changed over the show... that really suits her. her characterization was a bit hard to pin down early on: she didn't have much screentime and she spent most of it under a lot of stress... she was mostly just about Hurt. but when we got her more low key, sarcastic personality later on.... yeah, this outfit is very lapis. she radiates quiet confidence and comfort.
