BLOG#1: Introduction

Hey y’all

My name is Fedilla, this blog will be dedicated to the work assigned in my American Literature class. I’m a running start student with about a quarter and a half left til I graduate high school. I’m really interested in poetry, I write myself and have preformed a couple spoken word pieces as well. I signed up for this class as a graduation requirement at first not really looking at the course outcomes however now that I’m more familiar with this class I’m especially looking forward to learning the different roles women took on in the different literary themes/eras that we’re going to learn about. I’m most intrigued by the Harlem Renaissance because it’s known for being such a cultural musical and literary boom within the black community. Knowing this and the background of black people in america there must be alot of interesting things to catch up on, this is why I chose it for my provocation. Modern literature is to my understanding any literature that is set in the most current of times. I’m not very familiar with other forms of literature but fantasy and poetry revolving current events. But I am looking forward to learning more about them.
