WIP Wednesday

For everyone who is quarantined or need some little pick me up, here is a snippet of a fic I’m working on right now.

Summary: Aaron has weekly brunch with his family. Robert just wants to be the nice boy Aaron introduces them to 

Aaron meets Robert at some party Vic is throwing to celebrate her promotion to head chef at the restaurant she and Aaron work. She had been talking Robert up for weeks to Aaron, excited that her big brother was moving back to Leeds after some years abroad. She’s buzzing with excitement when she pulls Aaron out of the crowd to introduce him to Robert 

He’s sitting on the couch, hand holding a bottle of beer. When Vic makes the introductions, he stands up - towering slightly above Aaron. He’s fit, something Vic hadn’t mentioned but he supposes that’s not something someone would say about their sibling.

“Nice to meet you, Aaron.” Robert says, and his voice is befitting to a man like him. It’s rich and it makes Aaron nod and shake his hand dumbly. Vic is saying something to the right of him, but he doesn’t hear it, just takes in Robert’s appearance. Eventually, Vic gets distracted by another guest, and Aaron doesn’t really hang about after she leaves.

Aaron wanders out to the balcony of Vic’s flat to smoke a cigarette. It’s a habit he’s been trying to break, but social events where alcohol is liberal always breaks his resolve. He’s almost through his smoke when Robert sidles next to him, silent but gives a friendly nod towards Aaron.

Wip Wednesday

I haven't stopped writing fics, I've just been extremely busy with studying for my architect exams. But I thought I would do a quick update on fics I'm working on right and stuff that I'll eventually get to writing!

Family brunch

Summary: Aaron has weekly brunch with his family. Robert just wants to be the nice boy Aaron introduces them to

I've started writing this one and I'm very excited to finish and post it. It's cliche and fluffy but that seems to be my weakness tbh

Teenage/coparents

No summary for this one yet. I've done some bullet points for plot but haven't written anything yet. The basic premise is that Aaron and Robert have been friends since childhood, and one day Seb is dropped off at Robert's door with Rebecca not wanting anything to do with Seb. So he and Aaron decide to be platonic coparents.

Thinking it could possibly be a slow burn, but I'm also an extremely impatient person so it might not be 😅

Born in Fire remix

Another fic I haven't sat with for long. Thought of it last night and ran it past @winged-fool who loves that book. Premise will be that Aaron is a glass blower in Emmerdale and Robert, a gallery owner in London, wants to showcase Aaron's art.

And that's it for now! Hopefully I can get them wrapped up, it's just a lot slower going now that I'm in the thick of studying.

I’ve been away from tumblr for awhile because 1) life got lifey and 2) because I wanted to take a break and think about the future of this blog. Something I’ve thought about a lot since Robert’s exit is whether or not I should keep this sideblog while also maintaining my main.

It’s harder to justify having two blog especially when we’re not getting much new content. So after much thought, I think what I’ve decided on is that I’m just going to consolidate the two blogs. I’m going to start just posting robron stuff on my main blog @exploring-in-space

I still plan on writing (I even wrote something while I wasn’t even tumblr), and I’ll still make the occasional gifsets but I’m going to start posting them on my main. I’ll probably still reblog my stuff onto this blog, but otherwise this is going to become a dormant blog. 

Anyone who follows me is MORE than welcome to join me on my main blog, because much like Robert and Nicola, I’m going be here after the nuclear winter with the roaches. It’s just going to be on a different blog now!
