What would you say is the likelihood that the Tsukihimi Remake gets an official translation?
I think Nasu released a statement that basically confirmed that there's a non-zero chance, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm sure there are people already working on fan-translations anyways, to tide people over.
Translating visual novels is already an INCREDIBLY dense process. Outside of the fact that Japanese characters naturally take up a different amount of space than the Latin characters that other languages like English, Spanish, and French use- meaning that you'll need to do a ton of reformatting. There's also lining it up with timing, changes in sprite expressions- and while Tsukihime R is INCREDIBLY beautiful, it's also very kinetic, which needs to be kept in mind.
This isn't just a copy-paste process. It'll take time if it isn't planned to be simultaneously translated.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina can be translated easier as, due to it being a fighting game, the sheer amount that needs to be translated is much less. You have your basic menu text, move names, character names, character intro/outro dialogue... it’s certainly still hard work, but feasible to do if you want a universal release.
Translating a Nasuverse visual novel is an even denser process, because he's got a lot of 'Lore Specific Terms' that can get lost in translation (see 'Legendary Souls' and 'Formal Wear'), or his use of ruby text and English making the Japanese name of something actually needing to be converted to something completely different in English (see (宝具) 'Hougu' or 'Treasured Tool' having to be translated as 'Noble Phantasm').
And I know there's a lot of 'what about FGO?', but that didn't start out translated well to begin with, and while it's made massive improvements, it's needed to ramp up to those over the course of multiple story events and chapters. Even then, the team makes choices that the fandom may not agree with (see: Osakabehime or 'Altria') Tsukihime R needs to be translated right from the jump, meaning it needs to be handled with a lot of care.
The translation team in FGO does seem to be doing a good job though, no doubt.
I know that he's generally cagey with translations, which is annoying since he could outsource it, but I also heard that he's had some complications with translation and localization in the past, which may lead to some hesitation. I'd personally like one, but I'm sure that it'd take a couple of years before one comes out, if at all. I didn’t even go into the issue of reception and monetary gain.
Tsukihime R was incredibly popular in Japan, but considering a good western view of it could be summed up as ‘that porn game that’s kinda fate adjacent’ or ‘oh that’s what melty blood is from?’ isn’t super promising.

Why I think Hamuko‘s Persona should have been Psyche
Tumblr media
I have always thought that it was a waste to also give Hamuko Orpheus since Psyche would have arguably been a better match for her in every regard. In fact there are some story aspects that match Psyche‘s story a lot. I will mention these story parts over the course of the article.
I also think that giving Psyche to Metis was wrong since nothing in her storyline fits Psyche in the slightest.

Thunderbolt Fantasy
Season 1: Traveling party on their way to beat evil sword order crumbles to local vape duck.
Season 2: TM Revolution Self Insert who defeats dragon with the opening song warns protagonist of a centrist monk who turns out to be a homicidal simp for an evil talking sword.
Season 3: Isekai but with none of the otaku light novel wish fulfillment and instead the existential dread of being spirited away elsewhere.

Whoa P4U collab on GBF looks neat! (delusion)
Shitty edit featuring Joker to complete the party.
Transparent version under the cut.

If you're wondering why I Labrys' weapon is drawn separately (and incomplete) when Sho's doesn't, I kinda screwed up during the process and forgot to draw their weapon, so I decided to draw them separately and attach them later. Sho's is kinda easier to attach, but not Labrys' and I got lazy during her part and just... decided to only complete the part that's gonna be visible. Then I attached her weapon separately when editing the game layout. Lol.

Just catched up with the latest translated P4U2 manga so I decided to make a possible timeline for Sho’s past. Aside from trying to figure the sh1t out of the time frame, I’m also trying to gather some info/idea for some... self-indulgent headcanon. Lol.
This is based on the idea that he was around the same age as IT (the 2nd year kids especially) during P4U2, which means he was around 18. I also consider the possibility he might be a bit older, thus the range to 19. Some info like when Sho was put into coma and when he escaped from hospital are based on the manga.
Some thought regarding this timeline:
Well, some additional info provided by the manga seems to give some fudged up implication lol. If I put down the info right, this implies that Sho might have gone through that godawful experiment ever since he was like 5-6 years old. Wow. Good job Ikutsuki, best dad of the century.
In the manga, Ikutsuki’s copy also mentioned that Sho was trained on information warfare during his time being ‘raised’ in the lab (kinda explains why he was rather adept in hacking). Tbf it’s kinda hard to swallow given his age range lol, but it’s also possible that the experiment resulted in him learning faster than normal kids (probably through the medications he received). I guess it means it’s possible he was still taught on basic stuff like writing/reading/math, but with indirect means like making him watched some videos or books to read/write. They definitely wouldn’t hire a proper mentor to teach him that stuff, since it could result in Sho growing attachment to them. Oof.
Anyway, keep in mind that this is based on the translation of the manga, so I might be incorrect in case there’s issue in translation (or I might be a dumb egg and got the info wrong lol). In fact, I’m still a bit conflicted on the thought that Sho’s experiment was still going on post-1999, since afaik Kouetsu was no longer the chairman of Kirijo Group. Then again, Ikutsuki might have continued the project in secret so who knows. It’s been a while since I last read P4U/P4U2 story mode, and I don’t have access to supplemental materials too unfortunately, so I might missed out some stuff.
