Poll is over and while I did end up writing more of Soup AU i did promise a preview of the winner so uhh without further ado, please enjoy a bit of my upcoming mumscarian fic "What is Scar Goodtimes?"

"If you don't fancy him like that you don’t need to take him home then. You could just take him to the alley, take care of your needs and we can go. It's not like you'd ever see him again anyways." In all the time he had known Grian, the man's bluntness was never something he got used to. Mumbo spluttered and choked out a cry of "Grian!" as he turned away and tried to collect himself with a sip of his wine. "Aww, come on Mumby," he could hear the teasing edge in his voice as Grian whined out the words. "Its perfectly normal, nothing to be embarrassed about. You have needs and that pretty man is perfect for helping fill them." Mumbo felt Grian lean towards him and drape himself across his back followed by the familiar tickle of feathers as the man's wings began to wrap around him. Mumbo could hear his mind racing, thinking through every scenario all at once. It was too much. Just as he was about to tell Grian this though, another voice cut in. "Used to be a man could run to the john for a minute and come back to his seat and the handsome man he left behind no problem." Grian and Mumbo both turned around to the owner of said voice. The man that Mumbo had spent the better part of the evening chatting with now standing there. He wore a large smile and there was a jovial lilt to his voice, but looking at him, Mumbo noticed the tight grip he had on the handle of his cane and the coldness in his eyes as he looked at Grian. Then his emerald eyes shifted back to Mumbo and softened the slightest bit. "This guy bothering you?" Before Mumbo could say anything, Grian was laughing and threw his head back before resting it on Mumbo's shoulder and looking up at him through dark eyelashes. "I probably am, but he's used to it by now. Aren't ya Mumbo?" The man's posture didn't relax, if anything it grew more tense as he raised an eyebrow. "Uh huh, and you are?" "His partner, Grian. Pleased to meet you." Grian held out his hand towards the man who blinked one, then twice, face falling in surprise, then flushing in embarrassment.

Birthday in two weeks, want to post some fic for it, just have to decide what...

Was going to make a post about it yesterday but uhh its officially been a full year since i started writing and posting fanfiction again!

I Love You, You Love (The Other) Me was such an unexpected suprise in my life because not only did I have the mental energy and motivation to write again after years on not but it also had an amazing response from readers that is likely the reason I'm still writing (i literally go back and read all those comments on the regular)

Idk maybe im just feeling sentimental but a big thanks to everyone who has read that fic or any of the others ive posted in the last year <3

Coming dangerously close to finishing Remember Again and being able to properly start my mumscarian hero au and i still do t have a name or proper tag for it...

Really thinking about my upcommi g Mumscarian au and all the character dynamics i can write

Grian and Scar as exes who stilk have to be heroes together, Grian as Mumbos assistant making a grumbot together flirting but in the dumbest ways, Hotguy becoming enamored with the weird science-y guy who just becomes a puddle of mush whenever Hotguy is flirting with him and maybe he started doing it because it would annoy Grian but oh wait now there may be more feelings than he thought...

The sword was sprouting from his chest before he even knew she was there. Part of him was a bit embarrassed to have been snuck up on in his own apartment. To think once he was a warrior battle trained and lethal.

That, of course, was hundreds and hundreds of years ago and he had lived many cushy and comfortable lives since so he was a bit out of practice.

Gem, because of course it was her, Grian dimly recognized the tip of the blade protruding from his chest, was not so out of practice. She had told him a bit about her past, some vague details about where she came from and what she had to become. He knew there were some big things she had left out, but he never pushed her to share. That was her story and he could only hope she eventually got her happy ending, it was only fair seeing as she'd spent a long time helping him get, well, as close as he could to one.

"Y'know Gem, you could at least say hi before stabbing a man in the back." His voice cracked and he could already feel himself growing weaker.

"Ah," Gem's voice was loud in his ears. "You've already met this time." She must have let go of the sword since a moment later she was stepping in front of him. Her fiery red hair was pulled back into a simple ponytail and that dark, void-touched eye made his skin crawl as it settled on him.

He coughed a bit and somehow that hurt more than the sword still in his chest. "'Bout a month ago, on an app if you can believe it."

"You don't think it was a coincidence, do you?"

He did his best at a small smile. "You and I both know I stopped believing that meeting him was a coincidence several lifetimes ago."

The penultimate chapter of my Scarian reincarnation au is finally here after I fought for my life (stayed up well past my bedtime multiple days in a row) to get it done

He watched her wander around his apartment, snacking on one of the extra cookies he hadn't been able to pawn off over the last few days. She hadn't said anything yet, taking her time in taking in the details of his life that she could instead. She glanced over the photos he had lined up along his mantle of his favorite memories over the years. The one of him Bdubs and Cleo after the play they were all in, Cleo still in their terrible old age makeup from getting cast as their mother. The one of him officiating Lizzie and Joel's wedding, crying almost as much as the bride and groom. Various trips with both friends and family to theme parks and zoos. So many other moments. He wondered if they would flash before his eyes if, or likely when, she decided to kill him, like they always said happened in movies and TV shows.

He wondered if that happened for Grian. What he saw and if Scar had been any part of it.

He wasn't expecting it when she finally spoke and broke the silence. "Do you think it was all centered around him, or if they're all trapped somehow?"

Scar hummed and thought for a moment considering her question before answering. "I have no idea what you're even talking about." She sighed that same drawn out exasperated sigh. "Hey! Don't give me that you're the one talking in riddles! The only straightforward thing you've told me so far is that you are the murderer that killed my-" Scar lost all the frustration that had built throughout his mini rant in a single second. "Grian. That killed Grian."

He wasn't sure which was worse, how small he felt as he softly spoke the words or the look of pity she turned on him. "I did promise you answers didn't I? Well where do you want to start then?"

Posting a bit early after getting back from a Crane Wives concert and also this is my favorite chapter so im excited to share it!

Good news! Brain kept cooking and i now have an actual Plot for mumscarian superhero au so that fic will be happening... eventually

Really spinning this new Mumscarian superhero love triangle au in ny head and ohhhhhh i can feel my brain shifting into planning mode

Too many fic thoughts not enough time but i've had a breakthrough on the mumscarian superhero au ive been spinning in my mind for months

Scarian are bitter exes who also used to be hotguy and cuteguy super duo but Grian rebranded after the breakup

They both know each others identities but wont tell out of mutually assured destruction (or maybe residual affection)

Antways both develop a massive crush on the mowt cringefail civilian ever after they keep having to save him and maybe they all kiss in the end idk i havent gotten that far

The night Grian died, Scar was never supposed to be there.

He felt something was off immediately as he woke up. It was late, only a few hours since they had gone to bed. Scar had told him earlier that morning that he needed to get on the road, he had a delivery to make. It wasn't far and he'd only be gone a few days before he'd be back again but Grian had of course pouted and begged Scar to stay just a bit longer. "They can wait just one more day." It was selfish but Grian had recently come to terms with the fact that he hated being alone. Or really, he hated being without Scar.

The days and weeks he was gone left Grian empty. He sat around, trying to fulfill his duties, but as he made his way around the temple he found himself no longer caring. He found himself wondering, dreaming, what it would be like to leave with Scar. What it could be like if the next time he went on a delivery, Grian just went with him. There wasn't anyone else here to stop him, not really. The other acolytes could go months at a time between visits, thankfully never showing up while Scar was there. He wasn't sure what would happen if they did but he knew it wasn't something that was allowed. But Grian still let himself imagine it, riding along in Scar's wagon, meeting new people and seeing places other than the Watcher's Temple. Never having to leave Scar.

Occasionally it would cross his mind that Scar might not want him to travel with him. He had never asked if Grian wanted to leave, to join him on the road. There was a chance Scar could just like having a meal and a roof to sleep under and Grian just happened to also be there. That was, of course, much easier to think when Scar wasn't curled around him in his bed, snoring soundly as Grian grappled with how much he found himself caring about the merchant. He found that he cared deeply for Scar, too deeply. Surely more than Scar cared for him.

Grian wondered if this is what falling in love felt like.
