First Week of Second Year
During the first week of second year, adobe had problems with there programs which meant we could not finish the projects that we started. Instead we practised what we were going to do for the ident without actually editing it. This was harder as i couldn’t find out if i liked how the ident looked. We started music videos early as adobe wasn't working correctly. This has made me feel very unorganised as i don’t know the dates or when i will be able to finish the other work.

Final Major Project: Lesson 19
Today, I edited the visuals and got the order sorted. I also edited Greg's audio to get rid of any background noise by doing a series of steps in adobe audition like dynamics processing and normalising the audio. We also decided to deepen his voice by using a pitch controller. This allowed it to be more creepy and fit the theme of the piece.
This is the video that I used to edit the audio:

Final Major Project: Lesson 18
Today. I stared editing my final piece. I decided to edit the visuals only first, as we have a poem being read anyway. I started by editing Greg's visuals first and Choosing which take I want at the start as we shot two take of Greg reading the poem. I then started to place the footage on the timeline and ordered the footage and picked which shots I want if we did reshoots. The only disadvantage from today was that the X drive kept crashing and it meant that the videos weren't loading so I couldn't get as much work done as I wanted today.

Final Major Project: Lesson 17
Today, we filmed the second half of our short film. As we were able to film all of the first days footage in only 2 hours, we decided to start at 11am again. We walked down to our location, however the location that we saw from Google maps turned out to be a army barracks. so we decided to carry on walking and hope that we find a usable location. we found a forest which was perfect for filming, but it was a long walk away. Once we got into the forest, we set up for filming. Most of the shots were filmed in one take but the shots with the blood (see photos below) took a long time to perfect the tears. One disadvantage about our location was that it was a public wooded walk, this meant that we had a lot of families and dog walkers interrupting our filming. We couldn't use the audio from the camera on Friday either as there was a main road just above us. Another problem that the dirt on the ground was very dry so it was hard to dig up and hard to dig the candles into the ground so we had to be careful and make sure the wind didn't knock the camera over onto the actor.

Final Major Project: Lesson 16
Today, we filmed the first half of the short filmed. We originally planned to start at 9am but our actor had prior engagements until 11am. Once she arrived at the college we got her dressed and picked up the equipment. The location we wanted to film in turned out to be further away then we thought, which was bad as we had a lot of equipment to carry. Once we got there we started filming, unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the main road that was adjacent to the field so we figured that we couldn't use the sound from the camera, which helped us in the end as we could give the actor directions while recording. On one of the shots we could see cars in the background which, unfortunately, we only realised when editing so we missed a opportunity to reshoot. One we filmed all of GIRL 1's parts, we got our actor ready for filming GIRL 2's part. This didn't go very well as we had white out contacts, but our actor couldn't put the contacts in. This meant that we didn't have a distinct contrast between the two characters, instead we decided to make her face paler but this didn't show very well on the camera so it doesn't convey the narrative that there are two different characters. However, we have decoded that we will use this to our advantage and make it more creepy as it is just the one girl.
Here are some stills from Thursdays filming:

Final Major Project: Lesson 15
Today, we planned the schedules for the days we are filming, which are Thursday and Friday. We decided to plan this so we could feel fully prepared about what we are doing and when we are doing it. We decided to start at 9am and film until 4pm, this will give us a lot of time if we need to reshoot or change anything. I don't think we will need all of this time as we have planned our film to be around 3 minutes and we have 2 days to film. For Friday we have the same time frame, this will mean we have extra time to go back to the original location if needed. We are going to film over 2 days as we have to different locations and thought it would be easier if we separate the two days with the locations.
