Part 1 of my order came in!!!

I feel bad for the delivery person, cuz all I heard was a 'thunk' at the door. Must've been a long day, especially since it was dark out...hopefully they have a safe trip!

But yeah, omg, "badge" is an appropriate name for these, because they're BIG. Jokingly, I wanted to do, "banana for scale," but I don't have any at this time, lol.

The City of Atlanta Georgia has decided to demolish the research and conservation center of the Amphibian Foundation. This organization works tirelessly to conserve the Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Newts, and other amphibians in the United States. In addition, they provide key education for herpetologists on the care, conservation, and preservation of reptiles and amphibians.

This emergency need is compounded by the government mass firing of conservation officials and the pulling of funds from many of the country's conservation organizations.

Key points from the Amphibian Foundation.

Our building will be demolished in 2026, and we need to identify a new location (or locations) for 7 labs and over 1,000 animals, many of which are endangered and part of critical conservation programs.

We've identified a new location for most of AF, but not our research and conservation programs. We have an amazing lead, but it's not confirmed yet.

Our first fundraising project is the AF Emergency Fund as the minimum cost estimates to move this many labs and animals safely is $50,000. (It costs about 50 USD per animal to move them)

I feel like one of the only people on the planet who doesn't like weighted blankets and plushies ^^;

Like, if a plush has a little bit of weight to help it sit, that's fine, but there's nothing more disappointing than finding a cute plush and it's like a friggin sandbag...

And a lot of folks say with the weighted blankets, "It feels like a hug!"

If smothering feels like a hug, I have concerns xD

Like, if I'm experiencing vertigo, weighted blankets help feel like I'm not floating away and do the pressure points thing, but outside of that? I'm good lol

Not saying they aren't great for other people, I just personally ain't crazy about them

The creative bug has also bit me hard today.

I want to make a hybrid doll and work on it.

But I need to work in other things! xD

Plus, one project is going to be my first time making puppets, so that's super exciting.

Oh hey. I learned a bit of magic at the jewelry store that I’ve forgotten to share, please pass the blessing along.

Have you ever had a knot or tangle in a metal chain? Especially the very fine ones, it can be impossible to work them out with your fingers.

My friends, all you need is a thumbtack. In a pinch, a toothpick, needle, or any fine thin stick will do. I have never been defeated by a knot with a thumbtack in hand.

You stick the pointy end into the trickiest part of the knot and slowly just work it in. The knot loosens around it, and I’ve used this metaphor for acupuncture too because it’s the same principle to me.

But anyway, I’ve untangled chains women brought in that have been stuck multiple hellish kinks and knots for decades. It never fails to astonish them, and honestly it’s fun. Very tricky knots can take longer but it always works.

Hey guys something fucking bad happened

KOSA/the kids online safety act has been reintroduced into legislature after it passed Senate last year and then got snubbed. It is not unlike the bill that just passed in the UK a few weeks ago. If you don't want what happened in the UK to happen here, now would be a good time to vocally oppose it.

Here is a petition that can be signed by Americans. Attached to the petition is an easy tool that allows you to call and leave messages for your representatives. I have already done so. You can also email your representatives by searching for their name, most have message submission boards as well. This thing died once, it can die again.

Please sign/share the petition and contact your representatives.
