yo here is a fun headcanon i have that you might like
ex delinquent Sayuri, Satsuma knows about it and knows she can easily beat him up
masaru and chika are unaware about it and just think that their mom was in some kind of school club that involve fighting or something
This energized me for the day, so please have these doodles and a new AU/personal HC
Tumblr media
So this is the Sayuri ex-Deliquent thing; my personal little HC for it is that she and Satsuma are actually childhood friends (neighbors, probably) and that Sayuri and Suguru met in school, and clashed heads (a lot like our two beloved boys in the modern era....) (thie little chibis of the main trio represent their mirror for the back in time AU trio) Rentarou (calling him by first name feels sacrilegious, but it feels even weirder if I don't bc I refer to the other two by first name LMAO) does have a crush on Sayuri, but it's the type of thing that passes/is dealt with as they get older, bc he respects her and Suguru. He is very very much the one that kinda reigns them both in, but also gets dragged along. Suguru is a doctor, which is why he's being deligated Smartie Pants role; after all, Touma is a genius but also loves to box and isn't a weakling, so I figure Suguru is similar. Suyuri is very rambunctious; I think she's not only a regular delinquent, but definitely one of those girls that don't want to be looked down on for being a girl. So she likes to be tough and fight like the boys, and she doesn't take it well when someone (coughcough Suguru coughcough) criticizes her because he means well- the only person she kinda listens to is Rentarou, because he's her childhood friend. Suguru is fairly polite, actually; he's not an overly violent guy and while strong and athletic, has a more passive personality where he tries to solve things with words. It's Sayuri that later changes that mindset a bit, and gets him to enjoy and see the merits of talking with one's fists LMAO (so a good influence!). Rentarou comes from a strict, law enforcement family and he is under a lot of pressure to do good; his family isn't fond of Sayuri given her delinquency, but they're friends and there is no stopping that. He often feels more refreshed and encouraged after spending time with her, which is one of the reasons he develops a crush on her. Suguru and Sayuri try to avoid each other, and get into fights and arguments nearly any time they DO see each other- but then they keep getting into silly shenanigans (with poor Rentarou dragged along one way or another) I kinda want them to find out abt Digimon around this time, but I'll delve into it later.
Tumblr media
Sayuri is a little embarassed about her past? She was quite a bit worse than Masaru; yes he gets into street fights but he's also good about chores, caring for his sister and trying to do right by her- he doesn't skip as much school as she had, and usually she can find a valid reason why. Embarassment aside, she wasn't going to let Masaru tackle the world without knowing proper technique, and Suguru left too early to really teach him (but late enough to get him riled up, and you know Sayuri gave him an earful abt that when he came back LOL) She lets her kids believe whatever, not really ready to tell them she was a wild child herself. (Chika later finds out; Masaru does not and Chika is both excited she knows something Masaru doesn't know, but sad she can't share her findings, given they theorized about it) Sayuri of course chilled out and became softer as she got older, but it was mostly when she got her kids that she really calmed down. She wanted to be someone that they could tell mistakes to, who they could be honest with, etc etc., But when Masaru or Chika get out of line, there's a certain edge to her voice that definitely has their backs straightening. This is a really fun AU and I bet you weren't expecting me to want to delve into it but I 10/10 will. This is gripping me by the THROAT what have you DONE to me.

If we get another season of TDI with just the reboot cast competing, I want to see Raj and Wayne to be placed on separate teams and for Raj and be placed on the same team as Priya. And I want Millie to be on a separate team from Priya so we can get a storyline where Raj is nervous about being a different team than his buddy Wayne (who's more chill abut the different teams thing thanks the terror tanks from last season) and projects this nervousness onto Priya and he tries to comfort her by hugging and carrying her around like a giant doll or stuffed animal and when his teammates tell him to put her down so she can participate in the challenge, Raj is all like "no, she's too distraught being on a different team than her buddy Wayne, I mean, Millie," while Prya has the most confused and/or exasperated look on her face.

When you think about it, the Gravity Falls finale did something very unusual for a kid's show: Instead of the child protagonists defeating the big bad, it was the adult secondary protagonists who did so when the kids provided the opportunity.
After a whole series of the kids having to basically solve every problem on their own because the adults were useless, the most outwardly irresponsible of the bunch (Grunkle Stan) decided to buck up and actually handle the issue himself instead of letting the kids pay for the adults' incompetence.
That is not something you see that often in kids' shows, let alone in a way that feels thematically appropriate!
Honestly yeah I love that.
Like as much as Dipper and Mabel were still very much key players, it's Stan and Ford who are doing the real dangerous things.

You know the Grimm version of Snow White makes more sense than most versions if only because in that version Snow White was like 7 years old.

A lot clicked for me when my mom said the reason she was so reactive towards me as a kid was that she assumed intent behind things I did, rather than recognizing my behaviors for being normal kid behaviors or normal autism behaviors. So I got treated as if I was an adult who was intentionally doing things to upset her. She'd react to me like I had the maturity and wherewithal to do things in a cruel or manipulative way, making her life harder, when I was just existing. Just trying to learn how to cope and be a person myself. When she told me this I stopped in my tracks trying to process. Why would anyone's default assumption be that a kid is trying to antagonize them instead of like, struggling with something they're experiencing? But she was also raised the exact same way, treated like everything she did carried the weight of adult responsibility, not seen as a kid.

i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

I’m just thinking about how many times I’ve heard my dad on a long call with an obvious scammer and I’ll start begging him to get off the phone because I always think he’s a very easy mark and he’ll just keep going and then after a while he’ll say something like “I died 20 years ago” and hang up.

I have decided that a during the 12-year hiatus between seasons 6 and 7 of Total Drama, the PI cast formed an edutainment variety show that lasted about 10 years (with some TD alums appearing less frequently after finishing college and getting full-time jobs, like Sammy becoming high school choir teacher with Damien eventually becoming 1 of her students prior to him auditioning for the TDI reboot). Segments included but were not limited to...
Survival tips with Shawn and/or Jasmine (this was initially 1 fo the live segments, but gradually became a pre-filmed segment after Jasmine opened her flower shop/cage-fighting school
Musical Moments with Max and Minions (the minions in question were Sammy, Ella, and Beardo)
Sports with Sky (usually pre-filmed)
Down on the farm with Rodney and/or Sugar (the only segment that consistently filmed in advance as the show was usually live)
Skits about fairytales or mythology or historical moments/figures that usually starred Ella, Max, Sugar, Leonard, and Amy. The skits were usually narrated by Dave or Sammy
An advice segment where viewers call in asking for advice (Sugar and Amy are usually not allowed to partake in this segment)
As segment where Ella sings about a particular animal.
Topher was the host, and Dave somehow got roped into being co-host. Dave is just confused about it as everyone else.
