Lao Liang was a teacher, but now he is a miner.  This independent film records a normal miner's life in China.

It's hard to watch and it's sad to watch.

老梁一名退休教师，有着宗教信仰。在当地做一名矿工，年龄的原因他已经从矿井下调到了井上来工作。每天重复着把煤一车一车的推出来，儿子考上大学离开了这 个矿区。但同时给这个家庭增加起了经济的负担，矿工的职业也成为老梁最重要的收入，矿上事故的发生使人们都已淡漠。亲人们也只能在家或庙里拜拜来乞求保佑 家人的平安。春节到了老梁的儿子没有回来，老梁嘴上说儿子出去了就不想回来，其实这也正是老梁为了儿子的以后，继续留在矿上努力工作的目的。因矿上年限已 久事故又再次发生了，这次事故里就有老梁的弟弟。事故的发生矿也停止了开采，老梁和所有矿工一样都失去工作，没有了收入。因为当地是矿区老梁也没什么能做 的只好无奈的在家等待，没事帮邻居盖盖房子。长期的开采也使得当地环境被严重破坏，要喝上清澈的水也要去其他地方挑来。电视里传来四川地震的消息，老梁说 他现在能做的就只能去庙里念经来保佑一下了。生活依旧平淡的过着。。。。。。 导演阐述： 矿工——当今社会一个不能被忽视的劳动群体，因为职业的高危险性，媒体的关注以及报道，使这群人成为了社会上极为敏感的话题。这些远离了繁华城市，远离着喧嚣人群。一年四季为了生活，为了自己的父母,爱人,孩子， 在这种特殊环境中工作着。 本 片最初思想是奔着矿难的话题去的，因为太多的新闻一次一次的触动我要去做这样一部纪录片。最初想了好多要拍的画面和情节，但随着深入的拍摄我感觉到了人最 本质的一面。我保持着最客观的态度用摄像机记录了老梁和周围的人物。我不知道我能拍到什么，和拍到什么时候。但我知道对于老梁和所有矿工亲人们来说平安比 什么都更重要。 这个社会不缺精神的慰籍和物质的享受，而留给他们的却只有那荒凉的大山。

From 20:00 of Dec. 31, 2011 to 1:00 of Jan. 1, 2012, I walked along Chang'an Street in Beijing, China, passing Xindan, Tian'anmen, Wangfujing and Guomao, shooting with my 5D II, catching the lights and secrets of Beijing at night. It was my first time to do videos with 5D II, and hope you like it. Edited with iMovie.
