"Echoes of the past"

I don't remember where I saw it, but there was somewhere I found a drawing prompt similar to this, which came back to me last night when I was drawing. The few details I could remember from the prompt combined with my sleep deprived fascination with the relationship between Jotaro and Kakyoin combined into this late-night sketch.

The simple truth is that their stories would never have been what they became without each other, and that realisation is one that haunts every piece I draw of them.

"Harmonic Lagoon", Room sketch inspired by the Submachine series by Mateusz Skutnik.

I'm playing through all the games again through the flashpoint archive to compensate for the fact that I haven't yet been able to get my hands on Submachine Legacy, and got swept away by the incredible art the games deliver in every single scene. Got caught in the grip of creative urge again, so here we are.

I was thinking of maybe doing something and like drawing them like this, but I was just thinking that if you hadn't seen it yet, you, as a provider of peak jotaro and kakyoin content may like to a) see it and b) have the ability to use it for something

"Storm approaching"

Playing around with staff poses and alternate outfits, even added some experimental chest tattoos for fun. I think that the flowing clothes turned out to work quite well with the shoulder scars I tend to use for her design, so I'm very happy with that :)

Read under cut for why I drew a character who I promise I knew nothing about until only yesterday.

So. I was helping my friend with a project, right. And it it about Sonic characters and design, ok? And I am there for the design part. Because I have never been more involved in the Sonic random than knowing that there's a blue hedgehog called Sonic, he runs really fast and collects rings. That's pretty much it. The extent of my knowledge on this thing. But so I start looking up the characters I am going to provide design input on, and my friend sends me a bit of information on them and then. Boom. I feel their personality and potential surge though my art system. I need to draw them. Or at least an adaptation of them. So. Yeah that's pretty much it.

So here you go: Bunnie Rabbot, human version. There will be more characters, probably.

Is it just me or is there barely any kakyoin art thats being cooked fresh now. I almost only see old art of him and only rarely new ones... I do have my role to fulfill as an artist but

Went to the hairdresser yesterday, and the hairdresser kind of misunderstood most of my directions of how I wanted my fringe and hair, even though I showed her how my hair was cut before, and that I just wanted it shortened. [Saying she ignored my directions feels untrue and unnecessarily harsh - I'm sure she tried.] Despite specifying that I did not want it soft and round, it felt rather horrible when I came home, so I took the thing into my own hands and cut it instead. It's frustrating how it turned out so wrong even though my previous hairdresser had gotten it right.

Pretty sure cutting your own hair over the sink is part of the queer experience though, so even though my hair is not quite right and a bit short and choppy, it feels like I've gone through some kind of rite of passage. So it's fine now. As fine as it can be, at least.

「Bad End」

The story fulfilled. The journey forfeit.

I have been rereading stardust crusaders recently, and now that I already know how the story goes, I spent quite a bit of time looking at character interactions and personality instead, and I find myself reflecting on how Jotaro is really just a teenager. Those thoughts must have bled into the art, as this jojo turned out as less of a brick wall and more as just a seventeen-year old. Makes everything feel quite a bit worse.

For the Submachine fans; my current tip if you like me really enjoy the visuals of the submachine series [the colour schemes, unique buildings and funky machine designs, specifically] but have already exhausted the games of their content, is to check out the loki series

Watching season two has - regardless of plot strength or any story-related issues - let me look at very aesthetically pleasing set designs, especially during the sequences filmed inside the TVA

Simply put, the environments have a design very compatible with the submachine visuals, and I highly recommend looking at some of the set designs if you want to feed your brain with more Submachine-adjacent content

Side profile practise - for this one the focus was trying out a textured hair outline and some other face detailing. [I apologise to myself and anyone else who gets caught up on the square lines in the middle - couldn't get them out from the previous sketch I had there that I decided to scrap. I'll just have to live with it, I suppose]
