my jurdan headcanon is that years into their marriage, whenever jude senses something bad might be coming, she makes sure to tell cardan that she loves him. it’s like an urgent and anxious need at this point, one that she never skips, no matter the circumstances. because she still remembers how back when cardan had turned into a serpent, she thought she’d have time to say it, but didn’t. i firmly believe it’s a lingering paranoia for her now.
