Hiiiiiiiii being marginalized in one aspect of life doesn’t give you to right to call others the R slur. You aren’t reclaiming anything, you’re being a bitch. Grow up! ^_^

hey guys we can all agree its like, incredibly sad and fucked up when a trans man feels like he has to apologize for being a man, right. like even jokingly. it’s very concerning that people have created an environment where a trans person is expected to be apologetic about their identity, right.

So continuing the last reblog about fics and comments:
If I don't get comments, I very much assume either the readers didn't like it and hit the back button before finishing, or that they are fucking sick of my shit and aren't even clicking.
I have stopped updating fics or even stopped writing in the fandom all together because I feel like I am quietly being told I do not belong and they want me to leave so AO3 isn't being filled with my shit.
Just. Please. Think about it. Think about how people respond to their hard work being answered with silence. It's depressing. It's demotivating. I have stories to tell and an ongoing feeling that despite having written fanfiction since the 90s, I don't have the skills to pull it off. I have stories to tell, and the feeling people are lying when they tell me I'm one of their favourites because I was never told. I have stories to tell, and the silence is choking me into believing it's not worth telling them.
The actual best thing you can do for any author, not just me, but anyone on AO3, is to go tell them. Even if it's just "I liked this!" then the author knows, and isn't dealing with trying to figure out what the silence means.
Because we do NOT know if the silence means "I like it but I don't know what to say" or "I don't like it but mama taught me not to be mean" or "jfc I am sick of this shit I am not even going to click on this piece of shit and hope the author goes away."
("why would you think people would get sick of your shit and ignore you to make you go away" hey so guess exactly what people in fandoms and roleplay used to do to me and these exact people explicitly told me that was the exact reason! So guess what you told that zero comments fic you absolutely loved and didn't leave a kudos or comment on! It isn't that you loved it!)

I really don't understand how "without getting kudos or comments a fanfiction author is going to assume that people who clicked their fic didn't like it" became a controversial take.
I don't know why some people think an author should imagine, or guess that people who click their fic enjoyed it it when nobody is telling them that.
If you're re-reading a fic constantly, or leaving it up in your tab so that it re-loads every day for a hundred days the author is not going to know that unless you tell them. They'd love to hear it. It would make their day.
And if you don't tell them you liked their fic, there's no reason for them to assume you did.

Girls Scouts encounter Bigfoot the most frequently. Part of their oath is to keep him a secret because he’s very kind and makes up 30% of their revenue due to his fervent love for thin mints.

Do you not see why people believe astrology tho??
so i'm a custodian.
whenever someone does something cool like shit on the bathroom floor or get blood all over a toilet, i have to close the bathroom down by blocking the doorway with a CLOSED sign.
this sign is big and bright. it says CLOSED in four languages and has a do not enter symbol. it completely blocks the doorway. the only way to enter is to look directly at the sign and either move it or climb over it.
almost every single time i shut down a bathroom so i can suit up and clean a biohazard, someone will enter the bathroom with a dead-eyed, slack-jawed expression and try to wordlessly walk past me to use a stall.
and every single time, i have to block their path and say, "this bathroom is closed. there is one directly down the hall, marked by signs. please leave," and they either try to argue that THEY specifically should be allowed to use this one, as if they are god's most special little guy, or express shock even though they, again, had to contend with the CLOSED sign to enter.
often, i am standing there in the middle of cleaning up bodily fluids having to firmly repeat myself. they always leave angry or confused.
anyways, you clicked this button to send me an ask about astrology:

Y'aaaaaall my coworker self-publishes books through Amazon and he just discovered that the text of his latest book is not the manuscript he sent them and he showed me -- weird formatting of course but also huge chunks of text repeated, random words repeated, random paragraph breaks, random words and phrases inserted where they don't belong, added adjectives and adverbs, all totaling to over two hundred additional pages that he did not write and are not in his manuscript.
I read like half a page and then I looked him in the eye and I said, "I'm gonna be honest, this has AI stank all over it," and he said, "I need a different publisher so bad."
Anyway uhhhhhhhh probably don't send any manuscripts to Amazon right now? incredible

Man, I really hope I nail the next chapter of Sing One More Time. I want to bring it to an end soon, and possibly next chapter if it works out that way. I got out the scene that had been haunting me since I added it to Memento Mori. I've been wanting to write Hanto going berserk and Sachika taking part in battle for so many chapters.
So because I finally got to the big scene, I really need to nail the ending.
