Amphiptere Art's magic system.
This magic system I use in almost every fantasy world I have. It first branched off of the need of magic in my locked door universe. Now it permeates almost every magic system I have made.
The elements and how they can be molded.
This rule can change depending on if the world is heavily based on the locked door magic or loosely based.
In the locked door there are many elements. Going in pairs of two (which I will commonly refer to as partner magic) there are. Fire, water. Plant, rock. Air, electricity. Undead, metal. Ice, star. Spirit, beast. Shadow, and light. They're also are special elements that are only meant for the gods. This is time, celestial, psychic, and space under some areas.
These elements can be compressed into smaller categories for unrelated locked door magic. This can depend on how they are bunched up but most of the time, plant rock and metal are put under nature. Spirit, undead, and beast usually go under Necro. Air, lightning, and star are usually bunch together. Water, ice, and shadow bunch together with fire and light usually taking up whatever's left. These bunched up elements can change or be irrelevant in certain situations.
But for the most part you can simply go go to the standard nature sky energy water and necro for most of these.
Each element is of course displaying its element although there are some that might can be confusing to others. Most elements need to take either from a nearby source or can be displayed by converting different energies.
What the elements control.
Fire controls fire. it is as simple as that. Usually the user while being able to feel the heat will not feel the burn. The heat is usually lowered to a reasonable resistance.
Water of course controls water. Often making it so the user cannot drown and will swim more efficiently. Water users can usually take water from sources around them since it is an abundant resource.
Plant controls living nature. Trees, Vines, grass and flowers are all under its control. Usually displaying itself as a rapid growth of a plant. Being able to shift the plants basic structure from say a tree to a flower easily.
Rock controls the Earth. Usually able to lift any section of dirt and compress it. Although they cannot extract important minerals. If they can control something as simple as sand or entire mountains.
Air controls the wind. Able to blow off someone's feet and under the right conditions control the weather. Although they can usually not trigger rainstorms unless they have the element of water.
Electricity is focused more on the energy. Being able to create sparks, shock people, and power up machines. They also can use it as a way to speed themselves up. They cannot create thunderstorms without the help of either wind or water. Although if one is overhead they can command it's lightning.
Undead is different from what most imagine. It is the main magic that can be used for healing. Able to meld flesh and bone to a working state. And while they can raise the dead, It is more like controlling a puppet then returning a consciousness. Litches are created when an undead user has too many puppets under there control. Most undead users also control their time limit of their death. Able to hold on much longer then others.
Medal of course can control the minerals within rocks. They are the ones I can extract important metals and compress them into a usable state. They're able to control and shape metal like heated iron. They also are more focused on the careful maneuverability of the Earth than the wild one. Usually expressing much more precision.
Ice of course controls frozen water. But also is a element that can control the mind. Other than light and shadow It is able to control calm emotions. Giving an almost hypnotic grace to those it can use its magic on. Being what most consider a balance between the two heightened emotions white and shadow control.
Star is the making of matter. And is why space is a tad different. A star user can create almost any matter usually expressing itself and being able to create weapons, cups, tables, houses, etc. Although they are unable to control these items once they are made. Something the gods that control space can do.
Spirit is the control of one's thought process. It also can sometimes control ones body although that is usually easier to do with the beast element. Soul users can influence oneself to do during certain actions. They also can see spirits. Able to talk with the dead on a more conscious sense than the undead Element. Although the spirits consciousness is very dependent on how much they are remembered in the real world.
Beast is what can control one's body. Sometimes nicknamed as ventriloquism. They are able to command animals of any kind to do their bidding. Controlling ones bodily motions with ease. Something an undead user can try but will often fail at.
You then have Shadow and light. These two elements are entwined deeply and I will be talking about them in the same paragraph. Both of them control the heightened emotion. Light controls anything connected to happier emotions while shadow controls more sad and angrier ones. This has caused many a conflict between the two. Many believing that the sad emotions shadow controls should not exist.
Both Shadow and light of course can control luminosity. Users of both can either brighten or dark in a space. They also are able to teleport throughout these areas. Although Shiloh can usually do it easier due to the fact that light user will have to significantly brighten a space due to the fact that shadows coat almost every surface. Making going through portals like mud.
Time cosmic psychic and space are all controlled by the gods. The God clockwork controls time. The sun and the moon gods along with their higher god land control the cosmic element. The historian God Alvis can control space. And the writer controls psychic although does have control overall elements.
Different magic systems.
Going off of the locker door system since it is the most defined. Different elements can be used, displayed, or asked upon for the different magic systems. These magic systems I like to call as soul, rune, and material.
Soul magic.
Soul magic is the easiest to understand. It is the magic that is inherited by a creature. Usually there is one inherent magic and one learned magic. Inherit magic is the magic a creature can be doing at birth. I learned magic can either be the partner magic or a magic that uses a similar element. Such as a water user will learn the partner magic of fire or could learn the similar element type of ice. Higher grade creatures such as dragons usually have a breath magic or a secondary inherited magic. Usually defined as being harder to control but simpler to learn.
Soul magic takes from your own energy. Which can lead to self-exhaustion if it is not regulated. The magic is usually displayed coming out of oneself. Whether that is through a motion of the body or seeming to appear out of the direction of the user. This is also where they learned and inherit magic system is more easily seen. Soul magic users if they are born with the ability to display their magic have an easier time using their inherited one. With learn magic being something that takes time, and error.
Rune magic.
Rune magic follows different rules. And is usually seen as taken energy from the world around you or personally asking the gods for assistance. Again the elements playing an important part as a different runes will be asking upon different elemental energies. Often a rune sigil will change depending on which spell you wish to display or how much power you are putting into it.
Rune magic does not exhaust oneself. Although you can still pull from your own soul magic but it is not recommended. Often pulling from your soul reserves can be catastrophic due to the fact that rune's are usually stronger than a singular spell. Also if the magic system is asking for God specifically it could cause the god's energy to explode within you causing certain death.
Runes can be displayed much like spells though. Appearing in thin air if a user is well versed in seeing the energy around them. Usually for beginners though it is easier to have a rune on a piece of paper or on whatever desired element. Runes ignore the inherit and learned a magic system. While an inherit magic rune might be easier to remember It will not affect its power or usage.
Material magic.
This one is easily used by almost any folk. It is using available elements that are easy to grab and grasp. It technically could be counted that if you are holding a stick or have you a created fire with wood, you are using material magic.
Material magic of course can be improved with potions. Mixing together different materials in order to produce either a heightened effect of a certain element or to conjure up the element itself. This is where the partner magic system is used greatly. Having a vial of water and adding in soot can make a fire potion easily due to the fact that two are partner elements. This also plays on the fact that some elements are easier to conjure due to similarity. Such as a water potion could be changed easily to create ice.
Magic Wells/pools, and other sources of magic.
Magic can come from a varying amount of sources. This of course can depend on the world that the magic is being used in. If the world does not have magic it will take from energy. Usually displaying itself as the death or destruction of the world around it.
Again with soul magic it is taking from the self. And the reason litches are created when it undead user has too many puppets under its control they become maddened. Simply because it is eaten away at their soul and energy so quickly. This can also occur with other elements. Lich simply referring to the term of someone lost to their own magic. Creating what most people would consider elementals.
Material magic is usually the safest to use. Mostly due to the fact that simply grabbing anything could be counted as material magic. It also means that it's magic pool/well is technically infinite.
Speaking of magic pools/wells. They are simply an energy source that is abundant in any element. The user that is pulling from the well gaining more and more access to it the closer they are. Under certain circumstances they can also be used to increase one's spells power. It usually helps also with casting magic quickly.
Artificial magic wells can also be made. Usually being a mix between material magic and rune magic. Carrying a talisman that is pulling from the energy around it and displaying it as a physical well of magic. Although these are rare and hard to create.
Little knick knacks and notes.
Here are some other rules that are not required to understand but I have made nonetheless.
Two users of the same magic can take from one another's magic although it is something you have to learn to do.
When two magics of the same elements cross They will continue in their direction anyways. Staying tied to the magic user that first conjured it.
Rock users cannot extract metal. Only at metal users can.
Despite their differences the partner magic of fire and water. They live harmoniously with the fact they cannot mix. Being partnered together due to their differences.
Most of the partner elements were made by simply which one was created one after the other. This is why metal and undead our partner elements despite having no correlation. In the world of the locked door they were simply two gods that were made one after the other and saw themselves as siblings.
And I think that's it?
The more focused locked the door part of this magic system of course has gods and other things that mix into it but I believe this is the general for how I see magic in most universes. Might add to this later if I remember something but for now it works.

I have finally made a proper ref that I will use for a Jack most of the time. My first illustration of them was a random selection of colors I was just trying to pull off of images that were inaccurate due to lighting.
They're gray turned purple. The coppertones were far too dark in some areas, and too light in others. His complex face colors were misunderstood due to just not understanding them yet. Giving him a darker nose instead of a yellow one. And overall the design was mismatched. It was more about the illustration than it was the colors.
This one is more about my personal preference, and a far better understanding of how Jack's colors works. Given my intense study of their colors a couple days ago. I was able to make a ref that not only had the correct colors. But had them in a fashion that I enjoyed.
I used his yellow nose much more prominently. Drawing it out around his eye and using it for a cheek. I got rid of all the complex blacks and purples and just chose one and the weird purplish blue. Only using the unique darker purple for highlights here and there. Got rid of that weird light copper pink, and just replaced it with the pure copper. His pants are going to be a little bit different when I actually draw them. This simplified grid pattern will be a lot more sketchy and thready when I actually do it. But these are the major colors I'm using.
I honestly love this design much more. What's I was able to add some cutesy other things into it. Like freckles!

So far the little spirits I got for the arcade folks are as follows.
Jack-o-moon has his little pumpkin cat ghost thing.
Nova is going to get a crooked Drake or an Qilin/Kirin.
Black Star is of course going to get a amphiptere.
Blue Moon is set up for a cougar or bobcat.
Blood Moon is probably going to get some sort of bird. Maybe a deer.
Pluto I feel like a weasel or an otter would work.
Sun is going to get some sort of cow or some sort of ungulate.
Moon is probably just going to get a wolf. Maybe a snake.
Or at least these are the animals off of random in my head. I still need to remember my old elemental gods and what they were. They're up for a redo anyways but I want to see what I had.

The stardust arcade is going to get some magic.
This is mostly based around a certain specified part of my rune magic that I didn't talk about in my magic lore post. Which is the spirits that help people use rune magic.
I went over lightly in that runes are used by asking the environment for its help. The only difference is that "asking the environment" is literally just asking these spirits. That lore post was just trying to put it in the simplest environment. Which means little specifications like this aren't brought up.
Anyways with every new world becomes a slight changing of the general magic. So we're going to take these spirits that help people use rune magic. And we're going to tie them to the animatronics as the way that they gain sentence / live. With some of them Also letting their animatronic counterparts utilize there power.
To explain what I exactly mean by that a bit more. Going off of the general FNAF lore that the robots are inhabited by spirits all the time. We're taking the idea and just putting a more magical spin on it. They're probably still are children spirits running around somewhere. But in more modern days It's more often for a magical spirit to simply give an animatronic a soul.
And like I said these spirits are based off of a certain minor rule about my rune magic. These spirits are more specifically based off of the elemental gods. Or at least hybrids of those elemental gods. Each element I have is maintained by a different creature. They of course have magical appearances. But the spirits don't have to have any mystical looks. Neither do they really need to be based off of that specific element God. It's just more common.
Now while these spirits can give life to animatronics. That doesn't mean they give magic. Magic is considerably more valuable in their eyes. They are already giving the magic of life. Usually the spirits want the animatronic they're connected to to earn magic. Which can be done through the simple teaching that any other magic user would do. Although due to the unique connection between the spirit and the animatronic. Sometimes the animatronic doesn't necessarily need to learn.
Some animatronics that find out about their spirit partners want to communicate and understand. Some simply wish to contain and control. And while the spirits did give life, they can't necessarily take it back easily. They're basically sharing their life. So these animatronics that decide to control and contain will sometimes gain the spirit's other abilities by force. They will force their companion to give them their magic or energy. The spirit usually does not like this. And if this control is broken either by a magical disruption or the animatronics restart. That spirit will revoke that animatronics life. As it is the only time it can.
It is because of these certain scenarios, whether or not the animatronic party steals their magic. That usually spirits stay hidden. There are some communities where magic is more well-known. And therefore the spirits feel more free to show themselves. But for most areas where their presence is not well understood. They will keep themselves hidden and away.
They usually hide themselves simply but I never speaking or doing anything. Which is a thing spirits already do quite a bit. Usually what gets them caught is immediate worry for their animatronic companion. As while spirits cannot die they can get hurt. And usually an animatronic experiencing a death situation will hurt quite a bit. So it is usually in these scenarios where they will use magic or force the other's body to do a certain thing to get out of the way. Animatronics can usually then through that certain magical energy trigger. Can track the spirit down. Of which magical energy does give off a certain feeling similar to electricity. But when they are silent and not using it it's simply melds into the aura that is undiscernable.
Animatronics that do find out about their spirits and treat them kindly afterwards. Are usually rewarded by a second sight. Like I said magic usually has to be earned. Although usually there is a little bit of magical exchange. But it's on the spirits part and not the animatronics. For the most part it is usually the spirits helping the animatronic get around. Animatronics that know their spirits can usually get a bad feeling or know someone is around without seeing them. They get very good at telling personalities. As it is a communication from the spirit. Usually talking with the other spirit of that animatronic. Also helping them sense auras that could be a good 20 feet away from their position.
Either way it's usually seen as better to simply get along with the spirit. Harming the spirit only leads to aggression between the two and a constant need to look behind your back.
Anyways that's all I'm going to ramble about today with the spirits. Hopefully it gives you guys a good idea.

I just realized I didn't post the finished version of this image. So here it is. They're just chilling in the theater room, watching some sort of movie. Ravenous either asleep or with somebody else. Yes, I very much shipped these two together, ever since I put them in the same comic. Frank is one of those shipping characters I can actually have fun with. And I just so find the killer Earth and mysterious guy a great couple.
