Okay maybe I’m just. Weird but
Do you think in the flesh may have other lore significance….
What if Matpat does exist in the FNAF Universe. And he made theories. And that’s. That’s how they got rid of him.
Sent him an early copy of a game (for once) and he played it. It was fake. He didn’t know. And… well… we all know how in the flesh ends.
Jason finds him and reveals the news just like roommate Jason in the book.
Do you think. That could’ve happened.

so there's a lot of speculation whether or not they're gonna have mike be michael or not in the fnaf movie. and so far even i thought it was pretty unlikely considering the little things we've been shown. but now that the full trailers been revealed there's something that caught my eye. and maybe i'm puling a matpat here and over analyzing one little frame but. just hear me out alright. so in the little snippet we see of a phone call between mike and william, it's pretty normal and well, there's nothing to show that they know each other. clearly mike doesn't know who he's talking to, he just wants a job.
Tumblr media
and honestly for me i was losing hope that they were gonna have mike be revealed to be michael. since initially i thought this was just them confirming that he's not since, surely if he was michael then he'd recognize his fathers voice? but. that might not be the case.
my theory/speculation for the route they're going (again, emphasis on the theory i'm not saying this is 100% canon) is that it's heavily implied there's going to be SOME kind of flashback with mike as a young teenager, since a boy was cast and listed as "young mike" too. and this information about his character given back when casting for the roles were announced.
Tumblr media
"riddled with guilt over a tragedy in his past" which only further strengthens the possibility of a flashback to the bite of 83 where michael pranked his brother and inadvertently caused his death. it's the aftermath of this event with determines how this theory could work. either, william and his wife divorced shortly after, and his wife got custody of mike - they married into another family, the schmidt's. this could lead to abby either being his step-sister or his half-sister.
OR. mike was taken away from william either because of the bite or because the police were heavily suspicious that william was responsible for the missing children. he was put into the system and adopted by - again - the schmidt's. and the reason he doesn't remember anything is because the trauma and the guilt from the bite of 83 and the death of his little brother caused him to heavily repress those memories and in turn, a lot of others (william) without realizing.
so mike doesn't recognize william's voice here. but william?
Tumblr media
this is the frame that caught me here. his expression, the subtle smile on his face. the gears are turning in his head, something clicked.
what if william was keeping tabs on mike this whole time? and he carefully plotted to ensure he got the job at freddy's. for reasons unknown. maybe he just wanted to mess with him, make him remember everything he repressed from his childhood - he's trying to get him to remember by bringing him back to the place where it all started. he remembers his son, but mike doesn't remember his father.
BUT that's just me i'm a little insane. anyway i needed to make this post and write down my thoughts or i'd explode.

here's some art for a FNAF AU i've been working on that combines paternal bonding, self-consciousness, and haunted arcade cabinets.

Did you ever notice Canon DCA likes to repeat words a lot? Especially when they are agitated.
"Keep the lights on. On! ON!"
"They will be your firends forever, and ever and ever."
"Are you having fun? Are ya? ARE YA!?"
"Naughty boy! Naughty boy!"
"Nighty night! Nighty night!"
"Grind grind, grinding gears!"
They are so autistic to me, your honour!

im just thinking what if mike schmidt is the son of the movie's equivalent of henry emily. i had this thought on the way home from the movie at like. 10 pm so at the time it was incoherrent, but im going to expand on it here.
point 1- garrett played a similar role to charlie emily, in that despite being watched over they were both killed by william afton.
p2- in the flashbacks, its very obvious that the entire family is in a place away from society. they're literally in a forest. it wouldn't make sense for william of all people to be there if he wasn't close to the family.
p3- the books and the game mirror eachother, so there is a chance that schmidt could be another fake name, one william recognized because, again, he was a family friend.
p4-what happens when your kid goes missing? idk probaly witness protection or an urge to seperate yourself from the incident, both reasons for the name change.
p5-(kinds joke reason) abby rhymes with charlie and looks similar to her (brown hair, brown eyes)
p6-i argue that abby also took on the role of the puppet/charlie at the end of the movie. she didn't necessarily give them life, not like what was done in the game, she shoeed them how they died. she reminded the children of the life they had before, and of who really took it. by doing that, in a way, she gave them that life back. she gave them their real personality back, one not influenced by william. she cut them from his influence, she gave them the gift (the picture) and it gave them life (their memories)
p7- in the movie, mike says his father 'couldnt deal with it' and left after his mother died. yk what that sounds similar to? book henry emily killing himself in despair. maybe mike's dad is alive maybe he's dead, we dont know. but it is similar enough, an act of completely removing himself from the equation.
p8-book henry has a sister named jen, yk what name that sounds like? jane. who was mike and abby's aunt, and we dont know which parent she was related to.
p9-'but wouldn't mike know about the pizzaria if william was a family friend?' honestly, probably. but theres also a high chance that he wouldnt. if the family lived in nebraska, (which im pretty sure they did) they wouldn't have a need to go to utah, not even for a friend's restaurant. sure, he might know that his dad's friend had a restaurant, but not that it had animatronics or anything. the family probaly moved to utah after garrett's disappearance and after freddy's closed down.
p10-'wouldn't mike know vanessa? theyre similar in age' if they didnt live in the same state, probaly not. william in the movie was a, suprise suprise, shitty father, even foregoing the stabbing of his kid. i doubt hed care enough to take her with him on like. a short out of state trip.
p11(edit)- in the books aunt jane was killed by evil charlie to get to charlie, yk what that sounds like? the animatronics killing aunt jen to get to charlie
p12(edit)-the words at the end of the movie say 'come find me' and the music playong at the end is the puppets song so i think garrett is the puppet which is. again. an emily thing
p13(edit)- mikes dad looks like a mechanic shown in the training videos [cough henry emily cough]
if i think of anything else ill add it but anywys this is why i think the schmidts in the movie are the emilys equivalent. also check out the notes on this post because theres a lot of replies n reblogs that support my theory

i apologise if i'm posting this much about the DLC but i am very excited
so theory time! this time about Glamrock Bonnie!
someone found Glamrock Bonnie in bonnie bowl and someonw else got his pieces from the gamefiles and stuck the model back together (the images are not mine, i have no idea who even psoted them ebcause they've been reposted a crapload of times, but i know the originals came from twitter)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i feel a bit sad than logically he was there the whole time during the main game as well and we simply couldn't see him
but also: He has claw marks on his chest, which i think pretty much confirms that monty is the one that broke him apart.
however. that's not nearly enough damage to decommission a glamrock animatronic, as we have seen.
Tumblr media
hell monty looks like this in the dlc and he is still kicking (probably by the power of god tho) and i remember seeing THIS video some time ago, so let me bring you something a bit painful:
most people i've seen pinpoin monty's actions toward bonnie as envy and resentment, however in monty golfs whenever we see character cutouts or holograms Freddy is the one in the shadows, always. wouldn't have made it more sense for monty to try and attack someone he quite clearly disliked instead of bonnie? we know freddy and bonnie were close, so with some stretch you could even say monty was jealous of freddy's relationship with bonnie (but i'm not going to account that here) If the theory from that video is true and bonnie was the first and only trial test of the grlitchtrap virus on a full glamrock animatronic, what if monty noticed? what if monty saw that bonnie was acting weird, and when confronted him realized something was severely wong for a reason or another? and either to prevent the spread of the virus, OR simply out of self preservation he was forced to fight with bonnie? because if the mimic were to see someone noticed him, he'd likely try and make them disappear in one way or another so my theory-timeline is: Bonnie was infected, started acting weird, wandered around and ultimately ended in monty golf, monty saw him and went to him, then noticed something was wrong, bonnie attacked him to make sure nobody knew, and monty had to defend himself.
i'm fairly sure this is at least somewhat correct because Monty's claws can do some serious damage, and definitely more than what Bonnie's torso and head show. (edit: yes even without upgrade, Monty still has very big and sharp claws, realistically they could totally do that amount of damage, + in the original draft of the game, from Monty you were supposed to take his legs, and the claw upgrade was not a thing at all, yet it was always hinted he did caused bonnie's decommission)
all of this to say that bonnie more likely was decommissioned not because of the damage, but rather because because when technicians tried to fix him they noticed something had infected him, and to prevent any further spreading they were forced to deactivate him.

Help Wanted 2: Lets Talk About Sun (Spoilers for Help Wanted 2!)
Okay,
I've had some time to digest Help Wanted 2. What a freaking roller coaster. I'm assuming you all have played/watched/seen Help Wanted 2, so be advised if you haven't seen everything we have access to so far, I'll be bringing it up.
One thing I'll say upfront is its nice to know Sun and Moon ARE older like I theorized. They're tied to the Fall Festival which took place in 1970 per one of the prize collector posters and the fact they deal with the carousel. I think Steel Wool also tried to point out and confirm Moon is patient zero for....I guess I should say Vanny's influence in the PizzaPlex. He's definitely the favorite to be pitted against us. I'm STILL losing my mind over the Princess Quest Ending.
So, the DCA fandom has been all across the board, ranging from "I love sassy Sun" to "Sun is SO mean. This ruins my headcannon." I don't think it really does. At least, it doesn't have to.
Our first encounter with Sun in front of us is Arts and Crafts. This minigame is located in the world we eventually learn is AR. We also are clearly a new FazBear hire. Sun is definitely sassy, and let's face it, VERY critical of what he defines as a mistake. BUT the flip side of that coin is he is still nice when you do the art correctly. He calls you friend, he wants to help you. If the player eats the crafts, he loses his mind. It's because he's worrying for the player due to the effects eating the crafts will have on them, ie: "That is how you get ulcers!". (By far, MY FAVORITE line of Sun's btw. Kellen stated that line and the indigestion line were both improved btw- genius.) He still doesn't want Moon to get you, he doesn't want to get in trouble. The one threat is after you've been hitting him several times and you've outright pissed him off. (I personally, think the "I should turn off the lights myself" was a drama king being a drama king.) Then we take the mask off. We see everything destroyed and Sun acts like the Sun we've always known. "I'm perfectly fine where I am. It's better this way. It's safer this way." "Keep the generator on. Without it I won't be able to help you." He's the same as he's always been. We've just seen a new layer.
What we ultimately have to come to terms with, is that Sun is a control freak and a perfectionist. He thinks he "has" to be. He doesn't want you to move from your craft table so he can watch you like a hawk. Do the job you are assigned. Get in, get out. Do the art HIS way, and follow HIS rules. If you don't, bad things can happen. Bad things HAVE happened. Another explanation could also be that maybe he isn't as free of the glitch trap virus as we thought? He can be sassy, he can be brutally honest, he can be concerned for us, for children, and his own darkness can rear its head, all at the same time.
Steel Wool could also be trying to slam into our faces that Sun is incomplete. He is one-half of a whole. He has good intentions, he means well at his core, but he cannot stop, regroup, and act rather than react. He gets stressed, and can't cope and adjust. Instead, he demands control back when he feels like he's about to lose it. Moon is calm, calculating, and logical. It's why they need to be whole and why Sun is so grateful to Cassie when she fixes them to become Eclipse. As Eclipse, they both find the parts of themselves they've so desperately needed.

here's an observation I noticed;
When it's the grimic talking to Cassie, it's always about him/it—it's always "me me me" ("you have to find ME" "don't stop looking for ME" "save ME Cassie please" "deactivate roxy and save ME" "You saved ME") and never once asked Cassie if she's okay and whatnot
But when it's the real Gregory, all his lines is always expressing his attention to Cassie's well-being ("Cassie are YOU there?" "Cassie is that YOU?" "I've been trying to reach YOU all night!" "Cassie YOU need to get out of there!")
And in the elevator scene—the greg lines are making it all bout "him" again ("I know you did it for ME, to save ME")—exactly like the previous talking patterns grimic has been spewing throughout the whole game to lure Cassie in the basement
ALSO, the way he said "it's been trapped down HERE" instead of "down THERE" could be a hint that was indeed the mimic, it could have slipped and made an error of wording that sentence (cuz technically it is still down here,, standing by the elevator) because the real Gregory just literally said he's not at the pizzaplex moments ago so that's some discrepancy right there, the grammar is not grammaring in the context of the situation at hand
Just something I noticed

theory:
mike & abby's aunt is mrs afton, thus why she looks so similar to vanessa & also would make it so mike is still technically an afton without being william's son in the movie universe

MAJOR FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT. THIS IS YOUR WARNING
Alright. This is my theory on the whole “Afton Family” thing. I think Michael, Abby, and Garrett are all still Afton’s, however, they weren’t raised by William.
In the games, we know that Mrs. Afton isn’t relevant to the lore and is absent in the Afton family’s lives.
This is what lead me to think perhaps they were divorced, but William got custody over the children in the game lore. Meanwhile in the MOVIE, Mrs. Afton won custody.
This is what leads to the fork in the universes between the games and the movie.
Since in the movie, the Afton kids weren’t raised by William, Michael and Garrett never went to Fredbear’s Family Diner or inhaled hallucinogenic gas that made them develop fears of the animatronics. Because of this, there is no ‘bite of 83’ in this universe.
Instead, William, angry that his wife took the kids in the divorce, kidnapped Garrett and killed him (rather than Michael)
We see in the movie that “Steve Raglan” pauses when saying Mike’s name.
“Michael Sch….”
After this, he begins to act strange towards Mike. Why? Because that’s his ex wife’s name. That’s when William made the realization that the person in front of him was his son whom he lost custody of and later murdered his brother.
So now to address some questions about this theory:
“But what about the parents?”
The parents that we see in the flashback are likely Mike and Garret’s mom, as well as their step dad.
This would mean that Mike and Abby are likely step-siblings since Abby wasn’t alive pre-divorce (unless their mom was already carrying Abby from her previous relationship with William by the time Garrett disappeared.)
“What about Vanessa?”
Honestly? I’m not sure.
A: She has a different mom and was raised by Afton after the divorce
B: Afton got custody of her, meanwhile in the game timeline, Mrs. Afton/Schmidt got custody instead
C: She just wasn’t born in the game timeline until much later (23 years before Help Wanted.)
I really hope this makes sense bc Im just rambling rn😭I’m also sick and barely coherent so I might rewrite this later so it’s actually comprehensible
TLDR: The FNAF movie lore is similar to the game lore, however, in the game lore, William gets custody of the kids. In the movie lore, Mrs. Afton/Schmidt gets custody of the kids, preventing the Bite of 83, and leading William to kidnap and murder Garrett instead.

I tried to find the image of her and her father, but the only image I could find was super grainy. Luckily, I found a tweet talking about the actress who played Young Vanessa, and here it is!
Tumblr media
Notice anything about her outfit? She’s wearing a pink shirt with blue pants, the same color scheme of clothes that Elizabeth Afton wore in Sister Location.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Either Vanessa is actually Elizabeth, or at the very least, she’s a stand in for Elizabeth. There’s no way her clothing coordination was coincidental.
Update: Found the picture from the movie. Still kinda blurry though.
