FMABRUARY DAY 8 | Homunculus

I was originally just gonna draw 03 fma lust as i really love her story and characterization + she is my fave homonculus however i suddenly just had this idea to draw the dwarf in the flask + edward and al's failed human transmutation instead since both have impacted the story in many ways possible.

I am still being haunted by them.... for this piece i was originally just gonna do a screencap redraw hence the same pose + window bg from the series but i had this sudden idea of them being inside the pocket watch as to signify tucker's obsession with keeping his state alchemist title to the point of transmuting his own daughter and wife.

"Shake!"

I had a bit of a burn out today, so I decided not to go with the emotional "Rain" scene. Nothing I drew came out right. So, instead, I've gone simpler.

Alexander is shaking off after getting back in on a particularly wet evening, getting water all over the front room and Nina in the process.

FMAbruary Day 15: Rain

Rain is synonymous with crying in this fandom

The world trembles. The skin from Hohenheim’s arms pressing flatter against his flask, morphing to match the shape of his glass wall. A tiny breath sounds from Hohenheim’s throat, like the start of a whine. His breath turns jagged as if he’s trying to stifle it, but it only turns into gasps. Then more follow, his shudders increase in frequency as something light and clear hits his flask, rolling down the side. It’s followed by another, then another. 

Tears? Homunculus peers up, but he can’t see Hohenheim’s face from beneath his chin. Why is he crying?

“I’m sorry,” Hohenheim sobs, shuddering. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

What is he sorry for?

“I’m sorry I didn’t notice, notice what they were going to do to you.” He gasps around the words as if they’re a struggle to get them out. “I’m sorry I didn’t stop you. I’m sorry I failed Xerxes.”

Homunculus freezes. Hohenheim thought he was forced to tell them how to be immortal. Hohenheim hasn’t figured out he agreed to tell them. Manipulating the situation in his favor. He knew that the alchemists wouldn’t have dared smash his flask. 

Hohenheim continues to whimper, whispering useless apologies. Even if he had known, there was nothing he could have done, he was a former slave. He should say something, reassure him. The words don’t come. Eventually, Hohenheim falls asleep, still clutching his flask in his arms.
