Becoming Her
It wasn’t easy hiding who I was. Every mirror felt like a quiet battle. But piece by piece, I built her, me. Through fear, doubt, and quiet nights of longing. Now, when I look in the mirror, I smile. Because she’s finally free… and so am I

For some of you, this will be relatable. For others, this may strike a nerve. But in the end, all of us landed in the same outcome: we became the woman of our dreams.
This caption may be controversial, but this is why many of us say "Protect Trans Kids". A lot of us grew up like the boy in the left, but our mindset was pretty much like the girl in the right. Unfortunately, puberty would attack us like a bag of rocks and start creating that monster called dysphoria.
Teenage years are some of the hardest years to experience when growing up and unfortunately, a lot of trans teens go through a lot of mental problems in part because of the dysphoria, but also because of the constant transphobia and isolation of not being out, as well as the damage one may cause to themselves. Some of them don't make it to adulthood and those that do survive to adulthood now have to deal with the effects of masculinizing puberty such as a deep voice or facial hair.
Yet, when the day comes for our first dose of estrogen, a lot of us experience a wave of relief, that we're still here and can finally be happy in this world. Transitioning at a young age was nearly impossible for me. I'm a bit younger than Kim Petras, yet she was an outlier and not the norm. Even the topic of gay marriage was still in controversy more than 15 years ago. Between then and now, it's finally possible to transition, even at a young age. And now, politicians and bigots want to take that away, in the name of cruelity (Hint: they don't care about the kids).
Those of us that are still here are thankful we're finally the babe in the leggings and cute socks now. No longer do we have to hide like we did when we were kids. That's why we're not going back, no matter how hard they try!
