Energy begins to swirl around in the basement before fading away.

Meanwhile, somewhere far away, a certain bird wearing a theater mask finishes casting a counterspell.

Wally nods.

“Will Barnaby be okay?”

A Wally variant sits next to Amalgamate, gently stroking the patched-together beagle’s back as the Barnaby variant shakes back and forth on the floor. The Wally variant looks up at Limbo, his eyes wide as he scuttles backwards on his hands. “W-who are you?”

Amalgamate collapses to the ground as mental tendrils root around the poor dog’s brain, the beagle puppet screaming in pain as Wally rushes down the stairs.

“Hello, Barnaby.”

Amalgamate’s head snaps up, his eyes narrowing.

“You…are the Home the voices told me about?”

Might have some good at some point but don’t trust him, he’s done a lot of terrible things to the neighbours from his world

”O-okay. I’ll trust you on this. What kinds of things has he done?”

Amalgamate nods, an understanding look on his face.

“I know. The voices…told me what happened.”

“I’ll…see you around, Glitch and Dogfish. I hope that…wherever you are…you’re both happy.”

Amalgamate smiles as the window into the two other universes closes, the patchwork beagle beginning to hum a tune.

“It’s…a bright…new day…and it’s your time…to shine. Thank you…for all…you’ve…done.”

Author’s Note.

Hello. My name is Yeet. I am the Mod behind Glitch! Barnaby and Dogfish! Barnaby.

As of the time I am writing this, Glitch, and the rest of the Comfort Trio (Lucille Lovejoy and Wanderer! Wally), will be undergoing a reboot/rewrite.

The reason for this is that, to put it simply, we (the Mods behind the askblog) never set out our boundaries ahead of time.

When the Comfort Trio askblog was first made on October 12th, 2023, we never made a pinned post. We never stated what our boundaries were, because we didn’t think we needed to, at least not at that time.

As you can assume, that was a mistake.

Originally, the askblog was just suppose to center around the three characters my friends and I had made. But, when others started roleplaying with us, specifically with Glitch, I got distracted.

I will admit, I am the main one at fault here. I got so excited by the idea of roleplaying with others, that I was blind to the original plot my friends and I had set out.

The askblog was never suppose to be about text roleplays.

It was suppose to showcase art and comics that my friends and I would make, to answer questions and further the plot of the story.

But others started roleplaying with text, and the dopamine hits of that were addicting to me.

It was like a drug.

I messed things up by including others, by not setting out the boundaries that we needed.

Glitch was never suppose to have a brotherly dynamic. He was never meant to have a found family, a robot mom that he abandons, he was never suppose to have any of that.

And Dogfish was never meant to get married. He was never meant to find love, adopt kids, none of that.

It’s too late for Dogfish to get rebooted. Too late to push him back into his original form.

You guys can keep him. You already keep him. His story can never be rewritten now.

But my friends and I AT LEAST want to keep the Comfort Trio. We want to AT LEAST rewrite that.

To make a long story short: the stories of Glitch and Dogfish end here.

Dogfish ends with a happy marriage and three kids.

And Glitch is gonna be revived with his original intention.

One dies like a whale, and the other is revived like a phoenix.

Please do not yell at me or my friends about this. Do not try to convince us to just keep it as it is.

Because it won’t work.

I spent so much time and energy trying to please everyone with quick text-based roleplays, even if it wasn’t my original intention for the story, even if it was convoluted and confusing, even if I had to give and give and give up everything I had work so hard to keep.

My friends and I are changing that now. I will not focus so much of pleasing every little person.

You’ll keep one. But I’m taking the other with me.
