His brows furrowed in both frustration and confusion, albeit the look resembled that of a condescending glare when he finally glanced in the detective’s direction. He had a good guess as to what dictated the sour mood, but it was not fair of Gavin Reed to take the blame for himself. They were partners after all, and if one of them fucked up, it was on the other as well. Yet when he opened his mouth, the RK 900 said nothing instead. Would his words of encouragement work? Hardly. Detective Reed scarcely accepted his validation, opting to instead turn towards his other friends or colleagues and forcing the android to back away with a list of profanities.

“Understood, detective,” the enforcer relented after a moment of thought. 

Nothing was ever fair in life, Gavin knew that just too well. Life liked to play dirty and fuck you from behind whenever you least expected it. The condescending look just fanned the flame and the detective bared his teeth in a grimace of a snarl and a mocking grin. 

“Oh yeah, just look at me like that, oh high and mighty tin can!” he mocked “You have an easy life, don’t you? Must be nice not to feel shit, like pressure and guilt and grief and all that.” it was easy, wasn’t it? Androids did not feel things, that’s what made them different from humans. They didn’t have a consciousness, they were just programmed to react accordingly to whatever happened to them. Gavin didn't believe in ‘deviancy’ or ‘the ghost in the machine’. It made no difference if his so called partner was a ‘deviant’ or not, he would still be a machine to Gavin.

Yeets at watch at sleeping Gavin's face

The watch hit Gavin square in the face and the detective woke up with a yelp of shock. "What the fuck?!" he exclaimed and looked arround but the attacker was long gone. He took the watch and stamped back into the bull pen.

"WHO OF YOU MOTHERFUCKERS HAD THE AUDACITY TO THROW A WATCH AT ME!?" he barked and all heads turned towards him. But of course nobody admitted to it, nobody was that stupid.

"Fine, I see how it is." the detective snarled and squinted at everyone in the room. "I will find out who the fuck it was and then... it's payback time." he turned around and let the watch dangle between his fingers "To whoever it might concern: You started a war that you will regret." he growled before he went to the break room to get himself a cup of coffee.
