guys my mbav hyperfixation COMPLETELY died down but i want to continue talking about it anyways bc of how fucking small this fandom is.

soo early 2000′s scene kid rory and early 2000′s nerd benny (the way he is already but LIKE... AMPED UP)  glasses!benny and noglasses!rory even before his vampire transformation they would have. so many clashing opinions. benny would call rory’s music trash and then turn around and play mcr when no one else is around to hear it (spoiler alert, rory can, he is a fucking vampire and your headphones are loud, benny.) arguing about science but rory tries to make everything fandom or supernatural related bc.. he wants to. there is no valid reasoning or arguments he just likes fucking with benny at this point.

bringing artist!rory into this bc its something i hold so near and dear to me. rory drawing fanart of his favorite bands and benny secretly thinking theyre fucking AMAZING but refusing to say anything. pining from afar benny. oblivious rory. lets goo guys im so braindead right now i only have this as a small offering

forgive me i forgot rory was the first hypnotized in the maztak episode</3

benny and rory were better friends than the show let on and i will forever live by that.

in the movie to season one and even somewhat in season two it was very clear benny had a weird distaste towards rory.

however

it didnt stop him from having his number;  “none of them are dumb enough to just tell us” “well.. one of them is” “and i have his number” while on one hand rory forcing his number onto someone he considers a friend doesnt feel that farfetched, i really like to think that benny accepted it easily, or even asked for it. benny is VERY much someone who acts different around others, and theres no doubt in my mind he acts incredibly different when its just him and rory.

benny and rory have a LOT of the same interests, and i have no doubt when benny isn’t with ethan, they’re rambling to each other about said interests. benny is incredibly talkative, as is rory, and the way rory follows benny around like a lost puppy i feel would usually ANNOY people. something it never did? annoy benny. he never mentions it or questions it, i feel like he expects it tbh.

benny and rory also show up together a LOT while this kind of only starts in season two, i can see it happening in season one as well. rory still has that admiration towards benny that i cant be the only one to of noticed, and he tends to kind of just follow whatever he says.

in example say you’ll be maztak while after rory was finally hypnotized he and benny broke off from each other, beforehand, when benny got hypnotized, rory was following him everywhere “oh and- praise the sun king” “ye-yeah, praise the sun king!” where he proceeded to scramble after him. he didn’t need to. but he did. another example village of the darned rory and benny showing up together in the beginning. i mean obviously they’re better friends now, it’s been a while, and rory’s admittedly grown up a bit mentally, but they still showed up together (something i think about often) ALSO rory copying benny’s little “BENNY!” MULTIPLE times makes me soft, and even though benny did his whole “quit it rory” shit i like to think it makes him soft too. “benny!-”  “BOO-YAH!” to “benny!” “what do you think you’re doing? only benny can benny!” “says you!” to ONCE AGAIN “benny!” “knock it off, rory” also to carry on, rory immediately listening to benny when he tells him to skim through the book makes me <3 i love them your honor lets carry on to  independence daze! while this one isn’t as much, i think it’s still worthwhile to note. when benny, ethan, and sarah all manage to merge into one reality, they brainstorm on finding something of importance of another one of their friends. they land on rory. “good thing i know rory’s combination” why do you know rorys combination, benny? just a question this post is getting a little long! my bad haha to carry on though, and while this one isn’t exactly canon, i like to think about it anyways as a nice follow up to blue moon after figuring out that david is a werewolf, and after lying to rory- “are you having a party? because my fridays wide open! and saturday- and sunday-” --- “whew- harsh dude” i’d like to think benny felt genuinely bad about the situation, and after said situation was “dealt with” actually explained to him officially what happened, and even hung out with him during the weekend to make up for it. moving once again onto! blue moon & friday night frights! and an honorable mention of three cheers for evil in blue moon after going downstairs, once rory sees the werewolf he instinctually hides behind benny out of fear in friday night frights rory hides behind benny while watching the horror movie at the end of the episode (also not to mention the fact theyre essentially cuddling on the couch, but thats for another post) and for three cheers for evil!  i’d like to talk about how benny went along as “betty” with dating rory, he didn’t have to? and while on one hand i WANT to turn it romantic, this is a friendship post, so i like to simply think he went along with it to make rory feel nice. rory’s ignored by women, so having that little bit of ego boost wouldn’t exactly be a BAD thing. and the hand written note at the end of it too? that was sweet as fuck, he didn’t HAVE to do that (along with openly calling betty rorys “girlfriend”) overall, i think benny has a very big soft spot for rory that he chooses to hide i think during the die pod episode benny took care of rory after, bc what rory went through was honestly slightly traumatizing (i mean, come on, he was throwing up electric tree gunk) i think they were incredibly close friends, and i think benny should’ve been more open about it. (also, while rory wasn’t exactly “rory” at this exact time, in the episode halloweird when “rory” is changing benny into his halloween costume, his hand lingers SO long compared to everyone else, something i stare at every time.) thank you for coming to my ted talk
