I hate to be argumentative but honestly I truly am not a fan of how some fans are characterizing John Walker and Bob from Thunderbolts.
John is not as big of an asshole as people are making him out to be. He is a very well written character, which I think Marvel writers didn't mean to do. He was supposed to be the anti-hero but in every instance of the TV show he and Lemar are the only ones doing their jobs correctly. In Thunderbolts, at first he is rude to the others, but so are the other characters - they have all been sent to kill someone. As time goes on in the film, he is honestly one of the most helpful people in the movie. He is helpful even when others are rude and demean him.
Bob is not a UwU character at all. He is a grown man who is suffering from mental illness and people who are making him act like a child are continuing the stereotype that people who have mental illness are not to be taken seriously. Bob in the movie is sarcastic, rude, and also wants to be helpful. He is a wonderful character, and should not be treated as if he cannot take care of himself or others.
Please don't over generalize these characters because they really deserve more than just becoming caricatures.

yes, i'm happy with the content, the edits, the fanfics, that he's getting the love he deserved in the beginning, but.
i honestly can't stand most of the new John fans. the real fucked up thing is that a lot of idiots talk about how great he is in thunderbolts but hate him in falcon and the winter soldier. and that's honestly what makes me so disgusted.
Jon's peak reveal was NOT in Thunderbolts. he was shown from every angle, in every possible state NOT in Thunderbolts. beginning of his redemption arc when he realized he fucked up was NOT in Thunderbolts, and I don't know how fucking stupid you have to be to say "Walker was only good in Thunderbolts, when in Falcon and the Winter Soldier he's a motherfucker." I have no words.
to be honest, i expected more in thunderbolts. i hoped John's redemption arc would be more meaningful. maybe i expected something closer to comics, idk.
in the movie they made him more fuckable, likable, and that's a fact, and what about marvel fandom? they bought it again and started behaving like a pack of wild dogs (the same people swore they would hate him before, cancelled John's fans, and maybe someone even cancelled the actor). so..
i'll just say it, if you drool over him in thunderbolts but don't want to understand Walker in the show and hate him, you're a fucking hypocrite. end of discussion. this also applies to people who think John in the show is ugly, what the fuck💔💔 (he's not).

Hope I'll be able to write more in the summer. I love them, but exams and the end of the year are killing me.

DexJohn incorrect quotes bcuz I'm slowly going insane with them.

My babies (John would have thrown him out of the window with broken legs the first chance he got; Dex would have thrown a toothpick into his eye socket).

Bucky better start thinking with his head and apologize to John for being a total fucking asshole to Walker on the show.
John can punch Bucky in the jaw, he deserves it.
Bucky fans too, by the way. I fucking hate like 70% of them. Bitch, learn to watch projects for the plot and not just for Bucky. Enough with your whining about how Marvel 'doesn't have enough Bucky' (he has more than 7 projects. 'Not enough', seriously?).
Heck, he was even in CA:BNW for two minutes and fans went back to see it just because of him. Learn to respect the other characters too.

It's not like John is a saint, but honestly, it’s insane to me how in a world full of failed ch1ld m*rderers, slavers and ch1ld traffickers, terr0r1sts, creators AI what wiped out an entire city, people who mind-control others and force them to suffer, John Walker is considered the worst person because *checks notes* in a state of passion he killed an actively operating 30-year terrorist who participated in an assassination attempt on his life that resulted in the death of John’s best friend, and who, instead of surrendering, made multiple escape attempts and threw a concrete block at John and civilians.
**Oh, sorry, my bad. That's not it. He killed an iNnOCeNt Ch1lD (who is a few years older than John) in c0ld bl00d (literally screaming and then dissociating).
But if seriously, Nico wasn’t actually the direct killer of Lemar, but he’s still an accomplice to the crime. He wasn’t innocent, and he knew what he was getting into. In his case, them killing John, if it had succeeded, that would have been considered cold-blooded.
Was John right in his actions? Discussions on this topic are still ongoing. I can only say with certainty that understanding him as a human is quite easy. Well, you know, attempting to assassinate you and actively holding you back while your friend was being murdered aren’t things you just brush off.
And I don't care about the sins and crimes of others heroes. I mention them not to reproach, but because I'm just tired of hypocrisy. You hate John? It is your right. But to call him the worst when his action doesn't even get into the top of the worst crimes? It's just wild.
We all know that the only reason everyone cares about this is that the captain's shield was used, otherwise you would have treated the murders of others the same way.
P.s. I'm not going to argue with anyone; it just doesn't make sense because everyone will stick to their own opinion anyway.

By the way, all idiots who are mad at John because of 'on your left' can shut the fuck up 🫶🫶
Seriously, get the fuck off John's tag.
This phrase is a common military signal to coordinate movements to the allies, are you fucking kidding me? If you're such Marvel fans and attack John over this bullshit, why the hell can't you think about it being related to the army Steve was in too? Or that John COULDN'T have known Steve was saying that? Or even that he NEVER TRIED to replace Steve (and now you're AGAIN acting like that's exactly what he was trying to do)?
Learn to think with your fucking head before you write posts I BEG you.
Because of such ultimate freaks as you character is mischaracterized to the point of horror.

Hi! :) It's anon again. Wyatt killed it in Thunderbolts (big shock haha) I can't wait to see what he gets up to with the team next!
Hi, anon!!
Hell yeah, Wyatt Russell was incredible in Thunderbolts. He is the only actor who could play John so well. I am sure of it.
And I also think he read the comics with John, because Walker is VERY similar to his comics version now. I will never tire of repeating this. I am delighted.
I'm really looking forward to what they do with his character in the next projects. I'd like to see his redemption arc be more painful, bloody... and have a scene where he begs God to punish him (my favorite moment, by the way. Not because John suffers, but because it shows how much he blames himself).
(sorry for the long answer. I try to do this when I have the mood and time, because often there is none - the end of the year is exhausting. I am not ignoring you. I will answer everything, sooner or later..🥹🥹)

I saw a post somewhere about how John is so well written as a character that fans talk about him all the time. And the haters can't shut the fuck up either (unfortunately).
As much as it annoys me that Walker is mostly hated, that's true. I love how fucking well written he is, that the bastards just can't stand him (well, screw you, more for me).
But I wish he got the love he deserved. Maybe if tfatws viewers weren't clowns and watched the show from John's perspective (as they should have if they wanted to understand John, because he is a new character and his point of view is important. But they don't care), things would have changed. Don't know.
Anyway, it's a fact. I can't shut up about John, I love him so much. I yap about him every day, and it's not even funny anymore, I feel like my friends are going to disown me soon.
He means everything to me.

I don't even know if it's funny or pathetic that some clowns hate John and put the main tag, and then whine when they are sent to fuck off or gently asked to put the "anti" tag.
Learn to fucking think with your own head and don't be offended and surprised if someone doesn't like the hatred in the main tag. I don't give a fuck what happens in "anti", I don't go there, unlike some idiot haters, because, honestly, I'm not interested in arguing with them all day long, it's exhausting.
I go to the main tag for the content, not the hate. If the haters keep writing their shit in the main tag, I guess it would be fair if some of us wrote about how much we love John in "anti", but we don't do such nonsense.
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to the day when the haters get some brains. Which is highly unlikely.
Hate as much as you want, we don't care at all, as long as it's in "anti".

Don't attack me for this BUT since John has become more popular (as has Dex), here are some spontaneous headcanons for their ship. Yeah. Them. I kept this inside for too long.
[sorry if there are any mistakes in text, English is not my first language.]
Because of John Dex start to drinking chamomile tea, cuz coffee made Poindexter too overexcited and twitchy which bothered Walker and he sullenly pushed the tea to the sniper. Especially if Dex had a stressful day before: "no, Dex, you'll try to sleep instead of work on documents with insomnia".
John is the more touch starved expressing this in a tight hug, a warm hand on the small of the back or a kiss on the cheek - he does such gestures all the time when he wants to show affection and tenderness. Dex is not quite like that, his manifestations are less obvious, but they are there - this is a hand on John's head (which is ruffling his already messy hair), stroking his knuckles after a hard mission or even the way Dex lazily leans against Walker, As that's how it's supposed to be.
Dex has a notebook in which he writes about people important to him and pastes random photos in there, too. Mercer, Julie, even Fisk - they all showed up there and Poindexter doesn't even remember how long he's been leading it. But John has been appearing in notes more and more often lately.
Walker often stares at the scar on Dex's back if Bullseye allows it. These moments are rare but meaningful. Even rarer Poindexter allows him to touch and Walker barely breathes with a thoughtful sound, tracing his back with his palm. They don't speak at such moments, but afterward Walker always kisses him on the forehead.
John calls him "pretty boy." In a joking manner. Or not - no one knows. Dex rolls his eyes every time (Walker might get hit in the back of the head with a walnut later. "A lucky shot," Poindexter assures him).
Dex likes the bump on John's nose often tracing it with his fingertips. Walker squints at these moments wondering how they got to this point.
They sleep in such a way that Dex lies on John's chest pressing him completely to the bed. In morning Poindexter complains about someone else's snoring (Walker denies everything).
Both have nightmares, but don't know how to talk about it and go for a smoke break. Often share one cigarette.
Many conflicts end in fights after both lie on the floor exhausted and breathing heavily. Sometimes they fall asleep just like that (will worry about broken furniture and shards of glass around tomorrow).
Walker may unconsciously stand behind people who are important to him, leaning forward and stretching his neck if he senses danger. Dex was not spared this. At first it made him laugh, then irritated him, but sniper come to terms with it and began to treat John like a guard dog at such moments. He still doesn't quite like this gesture from John, but tolerates - because it's Agent concern.

..you know what?
John is definitely the type of man who falls to his knees at the sound of «good boy», I swear.
He has exactly this vibe in Thunderbolts and I don't care what anyone says. The beard and fluffy hair make it all even better.
(writers, where are you? I really need this, please..💔💔)

I couldn't do it yesterday, so I literally just finished watching Thunderbolts.
There will be no spoilers here, just a review of John, but if you are uncomfortable with that please do not read below.
God i LOVE John. He's so yummy. You have no idea how much I needed to see him, I missed my boy SO MUCH.
His character is SO comic book-like (West Coast Avengers era, i think) and I love it. In MCU, sometimes characters personalities are completely different from the comics, and that's probably more of a minus than a plus. But John? John is similar, and it's incredible. Not 100%, but it's noticeable, and I'm crazy about it.
Wyatt Russell is incredible, he is perfect for this role. No one could have played John the way he did. I'm proud of him.
I really like this movie. I will definitely watch it again, and more than once.
And by the way, the haters can shut the fuck up and stop whining — I will never stop saying this. Walker is incredible and I am glad he has a "family" now.
I'll do a more detailed review in a few hours. I just can't get over it yet and form anything meaningful other than how good John was.

I miss John so much that it's almost physically hard for me to be without this film. I just can't stop thinking about it. It's coming out in my country on April 30th and I can't wait.
I haven't loved him for as long as many other fans, but over the last 2.5 years Walker has become so damn important to me, like an integral part of my life. I don't know what I would do without my fixation on him.
I love him and in fact a little jealous of those who saw it before me. Don't know what to do with it, I'm ashamed, sorry.
I just hope he gets more love because I'm so tired of haters whining, like shut the fuck up.

It pisses me off when people say that «in MCU Steve would have hated John for smashing someone with a shield».
Like, um, no? Not at all.
Cmon, comic book John killed a bunch of people, two of whom were in pain before they died, Steve himself was considered an enemy and fucked with everything he could, while yelling at the whole of America, «I am better, while THIS OLD-MAN...», mocking him harshly. And this by the way was mutual, but Steve was just tired of Walker, he did not expect that he would be so aggressive, ig.
Of course, their relationship was not sugary, they annoyed each other, but still respected each other, and John understood that like Cap himself he was very bad — he had a clear idea that last Captain America wouldn't have done what he did. Not to mention that he kinda didn't want to become Cap, and only went for it because of the Commission, to represent the country, to serve it, that sort of thing.
Guys fought a bunch of times, John wanted to punch him in the face, but things have softened and they really appreciate each other as partners.
And since they made Steve a lot softer in MCU, and John didn't do shit like he did in 616 I don't understand WHY fandom has the idea that Rogers would despise him. I just don't get it. All of this.
If he found out what happened to the shield he'd probably be shocked at first. Probably angry, I don't deny it, but it's unlikely there would have been any hatred or disgust, since he likes to dig for the truth, he would have tried to figure out what drove John to do it and eventually realised — then maybe pity would have kicked in, because if he was having a fucking hard time as the creator of the title (and he had some support, at that), how John must have felt when the only two people who knew Steve refused to help him, trampled him into the mud, he's friend he consulted about the right decisions just died and he was just handed the shield and sent free sailing — «take it, take it, you're on your own, we don't give a fuck, but here's a task for you and you have to do it», yeah.
I think Steve would be a mentor to John. Like Stark in 616, but where John and Tony had a mutual dislike for each other (although Tony saw him for what he was and recognised that he wasn't so bad. He cared for him, even if a little roughly), but since MCU Tony died, this place would have been taken by Steve, and the relationship between him and John would have been warmer, primarily because they are soldiers.
Although John would fuck Steve up by the fact that he doesn't shy away from violence to achieve his goal, as it was in Captain America's United States, when he interrogated some villain and broke a couple of her fingers.
I'm fucked up with the way John is mischaracterised in the fandom. It's fucking horrible, and I'm tired of it — everyone around here just whines about how bad John is, say he's a villain. Well, yeah, "the villain" would of course realize he was wrong and try to become a better person. "The villain" would save a car with a bunch of people. "The villain" would choose saving lives over his own revenge. Who cares, still a villain, right?
The mischaracterization of Steve also pisses me off. It's just fucking nuts.
Do you think he would be proud of Bucky if he knew how he treated John? No. Steve would be shocked if he knew Walker. He would NOT understand. He would have wanted Sam and Bucky to help him, and if John had already done some shit THEN — yes, he would have supported Bucky, because then the blame would be on John.
Learn to fucking think with your brains, I beg you. Because I'm sick of how you've been hating John for the fourth year in a row, writing that in MCU he's a racist, sexist, rapist and other bullshit and at the same time don't even TRY to understand his character. If you're not watching the show for the plot then there's nothing to talk about with you. End of discussion.
