the fact the final round seem to be FACTION vs Target is utterly mean and i want to cry... i love BOTH OPs (animation, honestly and unfortunately i'm not fond of FACTION as song sorry pls don't hate me) 😭

Sidenote but It Seems I made the FACTION vs tri. Butter-Fly poll last a whole week instead of just 3 days by accident. My apologies, I may declare FACTION winner based on its current results (it's winning by 65% out of 67 votes as of now) and start the final showdown, though I can't actually END the poll early

The Final Round is gonna be rough, both openings are so good but FACTION has the "curse" of being alternative music (and thus may be an acquired taste) while Target has the benefit of nostalgia... But, as I had alluded to before, I had kinda assumed FACTION would lose to Mikakunin Hikousen on the first round, so the fact that FACTION got THIS FAR is deeply impressive and well deserved, AND I'm just glad the poll didn't end up in a Kouji Wada Song vs Kouji Wada Song. As much as I love his music, that would have been dull

Hirari vs Butter-Fly tri. version

As I mentioned originally, I cut out the OG Butter-Fly and The Biggest Dreamer primarily because having an uneven amount of matches made this poll really hard to do, and I felt like those two had a high chance of sweeping the tournament due to being fan favorites. That said, I still needed one more opening to have an even amount of openings, I was having a hard time figuring out what match-ups to start with... When I remembered the tri. Opening, and how it does have a similar feel to Hirari. And because both songs are by Kouji Wada I felt would also make this a really fair match. So here we are. May the best Hirari win

The fairest thing we can do in this whole tournament is have these two iconic Kouji Wada songs go up against each other. And it's going to be a hard battle, because these both are absolute bangers. Let's see who gets into the semi-finals then!

Finally took my time to read through all* of the official Digimon comics that're available on the website, so here's some brief spoiler-free thoughts/reviews for y'all

(I haven't read Seekers yet so I don't think it's a good idea for me to read the Seekers spin-off comics yet, those will have to wait until I eventually, someday, read through Seekers. But yeah, the rest I've read through now)

Paradox!

It has an interesting premise but didn't really do it for me, sadly. It just feels like a very standard time travel anime plot but with Digimon thrown in, the characters feel a bit bland- like this is the kind of story that could be alright as a 12 episode series where there's enough filler for us to get to know the characters and develop them more, but as it was, yeah, just kinda bare bones and unimpressive, for me.

Rikollection!

10/10, this comic fucking GETS IT. I am emotionally absolutely shattered, an utter wreck, please, if I can only convince you to read one of the official Digimon comics, please read Rekollection. I love it. Like it's not perfect, but you can truly tell this was made by someone who loves the franchise dearly and that love is just OVERFLOWING

Get Back!

It's a single chapter one shot and, man. That was lovely. Like Rikollection hits me in the "I am a grown ass adult who still loves Digimon the franchise and what does that mean" kinda way, while Get Back is such a fun exploration of a What If-scenario. It's absolutely wonderful, and it's just one chapter. Absolutely reccomend this one too

Knuckles!

This one was so cute and sweet and just, oh it warmed my heart. Definitely enjoyed it as a break from the two meta installments I just read, and, yeah. This one was just a solid Digimon short story. Absolutely reccomend it. ESPECIALLY if you're an Old Man Enjoyer and want to look at Gankoomon respectfully, because clearly the author is an Old Man Enjoyer too and I have nothing but respect for that. It did make me laugh a lot tho

Story of the Royal Knights

It's a pure gag-comic by Yabuno Ten'ya and what is there to say. It's really cute and really funny, there's a few bits that had me crying from laughing. It was just good, man, simple and clean.

But yeah, overall, I loved all of these except for Paradox which just kinda did not do it for me, but since these are all free comics I absolutely reccomend reading all of them
