The party

The party began at dusk.

A famous lot decided

To delight us tonight

With their history of light!

I present you those we stalk at night:

Polaris came as grand as ever,

Covered in silk and honey,

Followed by dear Sirius

On its tail with ice and irony.

And when the Hunter, Orion, showed his face

The creatures of the night forgot their song and grace.

Pavo hides from Orion

As he owns him something precious

Hidden in his peacock feathers.

Where Orion’s aim was set,

It was easy to see

The Seven sisters flee.

Pleides is their name,

Where they go, follows rain

And sailors begin making their way

Into Poseidon’s game.

Persei and Meissa, a rare sight

And blue as ever, were spotted

Only once all night!

Virgo judges from afar

Betelgense making noises.

Oh, the drama he creates,

Such an explosion, such joy!

Boöts supplied the food

As generous as ever.

If this wasn’t enough,

When Andromeda did not come,

Her mother, the too proud queen,

Not forgiven but admired for her sublime,

Turned all upside down, 

Made a hole scene

To her daughter on the phone

Asking how could she

Disgrace her so?

Dear Deneb wanted us to lie in wait for him,

And we counted breaths till he finally came!

Much-awaited, the Star moved his footsteps past the dance floor

Leaving us longing for more.

"Oh, his glitter pierced the night

Making it look more like day!"

As the Sun himself once said

But he’s distant and he envies

Thus, he will not go far from his way.

The celestial party expected

The divine Moon to come

But she was not seen among them

Since she broke up with the Sun.

What we want is what we'll see,

Not a chance to see the truth

In this ocean of beings,

Home of blue.
