aftg but neil is genuinely wholeheartedly under the impression that andrew and kevin are boyfriends. which is basically just the first book and half of the second but i mean we let him keep that energy the whole way through. andrew says he'd blow him and neil is like ??? pretty sure kevin would take issue with that??? and andrew, thinking neil is referencing their deal, is like ??? kevin doesn't care what i do when im away from him??? and neil is like ??? but you're always with him when im around??? and andrew is like ??? i would tell him to go away??? and neil is like ??? i don't think you should do that??? and andrew is like ??? u mean u want him to watch??? and neil is like ??? i didn't agree to this but if i was going to then yes, im not going to make you send kevin away??? and anyway this is how both andrew and neil operate under the assumption that the other is angling to enter a throuple with one another and kevin day and kevin has no clue about any of this

Imagine tho Kevin graduates and goes pro ofc and after a few years of playing with Neil and Andrew openly defying the shit he says and calling him out in the middle of practice, he’s suddenly on a team as the Queen and Son of Exy Kevin Day to all his teammates instead of just…Kevin.

And he’s playing with incredibly talented people he looks up to and respects as players but to them he’s still Kevin Day. Nobody’s pushing back when he’s being a bitch, nobody’s challenging him or his calls. And it should be so nice to get the fucking respect he deserves, but he’s MISERABLE.

Until Andrew signs a team near Kevin, and the next year Neil signs the same team as Kevin so they all get a place together in the middle of the two teams, and they realize just how much Kevin needs their disrespect again, how he’s been floundering without anyone to fucking check him and put him in his place. They accidentally realize it after. Andrew, in a bad mood one night, snaps at Kevin in a vicious cutdown, and instead of bitching back, Kevin just…settles. For the whole fucking weekend. And again a little while later, Neil makes fun of him and Kevin BLUSHES.

It becomes A Thing. Eventually Neil insults Kevin when Kevin hasn’t gotten himself off in just a bit too long and he gets hard from it and then it becomes A THING. After a while Kevin can barely function if Andreil are too nice to him for too long and he realizes he loves this game they play and oh shit when did he start LOVING THEM?
