✦ in a life threatening situation with @spark-took-flight

⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀Soundwave lets Starscream's question hang in the air, the silence filling itself with more gravity the longer it is left unanswered, a lull that condescendingly intends to remind Megatron's aversion of what happens when he assumes a leadership role; he reaches heights that thwart himself and those around him.

Perhaps if Starscream put more thought into the limited number of troops for this mission, he would have foreseen that the area they were meant to scavenge was one they would have to be overly cautious about in every move. Or if he considered the fact that he was paired with another bot of high ranking, that the reward held more pristine, and required utmost precision to retrieve. Maybe if Starscream stayed quiet, he would have thought.

But Starscream is not a creature that honors silence; he tramples all over it with the sound of his voice, desperately needing to silence the silence. All this disdain that fumed in Soundwave's cerebral processor kept them motionless.

In the same leaf, Soundwave cannot process an answer for him.

This wasn't like them, without a solution.

The cold must've nipped at their energy earlier than Starscream realized his cog was neutralized, or else this outcome would've been anticipated and ensured it didn't come to be in the first place.

An answer didn't come at the forefront of their mind, no, but something far more valuable survived this damned temperature, the thought of their cassettes. Soundwave peeks down at them, their visor reflecting their heart-shaped chest. They've begun hibernating in their enclosure; Soundwave detected a decrease in their vitals, enabling them to enter 'sleep mode'. A sure sign that they needed warmth, desperately.

It's the only thought that outmatched this frostbite. But if Soundwave wanted to survive with all of their little companions, they needed to ensure Starscream's survival. He is sturdier. A flying jet that will certainly guarantee their escape. What good is a little music box like them in comparison? Starscream, a cockroach that survives no matter how many times it's stepped on ... It wounds their pride that it comes to this, but they must serve their purpose to Starscream in this moment.

Except, Starscream gets no hint about this.

Their pedes, always in a constant tiptoeing nature, skate through this thin sheet of a floor like a ballerina gliding across the stage, one pede sliding after the other. This graceful footwork was never absent in Soundwave. But this was no dance recital. They were on a tightrope. Starscream in it. And whatever mistake they make in this stride will thwart itself, and those around it.

Soundwave: Must make this right.

Soundwave stops.

They stand close behind the seeker, the 'covering the distance between them' sort of close.

And then there's this pause. A loud gust of silence ensued around them, a perfect note of anticipation. Too dramatically drawn out, it carried, at the same time, a heavy amount of reason. Yet, to the unaware, this must be the worst assurance. Starscream deserved better than being part of a plan over which he had no say.

But Soundwave needed to build the tension, and needed his attention much more. The next part required it.

A prey's blood is richer and warmer, boiling, when its heart has been stimulated by threatening elements, such as a predator. Soundwave reads Starscream's pulse mentally, but whether they achieved this effect or not, it does not wait for; their tentacles reach out for the other body. These slender coils do best to wrap themselves around his waist. The ends of these tentacles, the magenta feelers, wiggle in greeting before they leech on the surface above where his t-cog would be. Except, instead of bloodsucking, they do something ... interesting.

The feelers, collecting themselves and puckering on the spot, transmit a much-needed source, warmth. In this abnormal process, the tendrils tend to the situation. While this trumpet-shaped flower was entirely delicate and harmless on Starscream's mesh, it began threatening the stability of Soundwave. They sway like a flower in spring. At least, Soundwave thinks they are.

Except that they don't believe it when they stumble so soon, their chest scrapping against his back, their hand instinctively clutching on Starscream's shoulder. How embarrassing! Starscream isn't supposed to see Soundwave like this!

With quivering strength, they attempt to stand upright. Anything to get off of him. So when they back away from the seeker in a step or two, it's the legs doing the effort, and so their knees buckle, shivering for their legs to stand upright. This was not Soundwave's best presentation, but it was an idea that tried its best to yield optimal results.

Soundwave must serve its purpose to Starscream, for the casseticons.

an extremely indulgent piece of soundwave. all that i craved to do was animate shiny jewelry on a sultry body ԅ(‾⌣‾ԅ)

BUT, this does come with personal headcanons i really wanted to draw! in my headcanon-based continuity of transformers, soundwave is a foreign dancer, stolen as a gift for the cybertronian high council.

this is my first time trying to design meaning into jewelry so don't mind me making an attempt: the headpiece is meant to resemble swords and pins stabbing at him because he is just a marionette. chest piece is a heart torn in two halves, but the diamond represents their spark. the dangling jewelry around his stomach is just an arrow pointing downward There because soundwave was just seen as an object for pleasure. the piece around his waist is also meant to sexualize with the little droplets. the snake on his thigh is there because soundwave is 'the snake that tempted eve' in this case, the ever-innocent cybertronian council. as if they didn't abduct soundwave to be theirs-

i never thought in my life i would redesign a mecha of all beings, but my stupidity got me here ... not knowing when to quit. i drool over his canon design in prime (and all iterations for that matter) but i decided to alter it for 1. me to understand and 2. fanservice; i just really want to draw sexy things with a sexy character u /// u

transformers are very sexy play-doh's and i wanted to have fun making a headcanon-based iteration of soundwave so here's some story and details about my little music player 🎵

soundwave is a foreign transformer! not from cybertron, but from a distant land whose inhabitants value music and dance in their culture. unfortunately, his spark was stolen from birth from his native planet by a quintesson scientist who placed soundwave's spark in a preset protoform. (cyberverse's scientist character was SO obsessed with soundwave i thought was too hot and interesting to ignore)

soundwave's spark still took on its natural form it was intended from the start, but had a trait only seen in quintesson species, the tentacles.

soundwave came to life beside another, the triple changer named blitzwing under the same scientist. (tfa blitzwing had multiple faces that made him quintesson-coded to me and my sibling @crow-cello)

though blitzwing was made to protect the judge, the innocent mistake of soundwave being the first entity he sees with his very eyes made blitzwing feel beholden to protect this mechanical beauty. it was love at first sight, but this part of the story does not end in happily ever after.

soundwave is then rescued by his native species, from who he was stolen from, no longer belonging to the scientist, yet, separated from blitzwing. while heartbroken that they are kept apart, soundwave got in touch with his roots, being taught that love comes back to someone through song.

indulging in his birthright as a music player, soundwave did not suspect that he was a rarity across this universe. he was seen as an exotic treasure to higher beings, sentinel prime's high council in cybertronian. the idea of owning a music box of their own was too tantalizing to resist.

soundwave felt like a prisoner in his own life, being kidnapped but never belonging for too long. when he was stolen by cybertronian soldiers for their high council, soundwave endured their perversion, becoming their indulgence than his own being as he was what they wanted him to be, their little music player.

until one sacred day, he saw a certain gladiator in the arena and was saved by his words ... d-16 was an underdog fighter, prized by the high council for his victories and in the same leaf, despised for his active voice against oppression. soundwave would sneak out of the confines of his many masters to learn and experience life with d-16. when he promised soundwave for a better world for robots like them, soundwave gained the strength and courage to dismantle the ones who only saw him as a trophy.

without d-16, he wouldn't have gained his freedom. soundwave believed that all those days singing his lovesong brought d-16 to him. thereafter, soundwave vowed to be megatron's most loyal right-hand, indebted to only serve him. what he did not imagine was that megatron would save blitzwing too.

now for some quick facts:

soundwave is a music box! 🎶 his heart-shaped plate is where he keeps his Cassetticons. (his babies)

stands on his tip-toes to portray his dancer side~ 🩰 very swift, flowy, and agile in dance. moves gracefully in battle.

as a mecha character, soundwave is comfortable in his nudity. (save for intimate parts.) heart-shaped plate is see-through and his glowing wires are the equivalent of body art/tattoos ❤️ canonly wears the least amount of armor in prime and showcases the most mesh. i believe as a stylistic choice-
