So, dear Witchlings,

I was listening to “The Calling” from TAD’s new album “Ruin,” -which is so flawless that I can’t find the right words to describe how amazing that album is- and this part made me think of Jaskier and Geralt…

"Ruin” already ruined me in a most beautiful way and made me cry—even after I stopped listening to it for a while to focus on writing an essay, which I failed—and when I read this, I found myself crying once again because that's exactly how it feels.

Especially the "But then they pick you up cause hey, you’re not alone anymore. There is someone else, someone who gets it. You can stop pretending. Be yourself. Breathe."  part.

I gotta admit that I've been listening to "Party Fear" by Raleigh Ritchie a lot lately—more than a healthy amount probably—because it just makes me feel understood, it's just so relatable. 

And "Drinking song for the socially anxious" made me think of “Party Fear”, in a way. I mean, please, look:

and at the end of the song Raleigh goes:

and I do.

"Drinking song for the socially anxious" makes me take a deep breath, as well.

I breathe and tell myself that it's going to be okay, I won't be here forever, with people I don't, I can’t, fit in, with people who probably find me weird, look at me like I'm an alien sometimes, and just don't understand.

I'll get home soon, and spend time with my awesome cat, and I'll spend time with my best friend, too, even though I can't be physically together with her.

 No music has ever touched me, reached inside my soul like TAD’s music does.

And here is my humble attempt to give you my first impression of Ruin. This is what I felt listening to the album for the first time. 

I don’t know anything about music and vocals , it’s just the pure emotions I’m trying to grasp. 

But one thing I have to say first. Both their voices are absolutely incredible throughout the entire album. Absolutely incredible! They really went next level.

Ok. Let’s do this.

Secret Worlds

The song begins and yes, good I’m here, I’m ready. Then Joey’s voice, then the drums. Yes yes. I want to dance. They start singing and omg there they are. This is TAD. Yes. That’s the feeling they give you. Something inside you rises up. And there is something magical. The chorus and that feeling, that slight wild and free feeling is spreading in your chest. You feel like something is coming. You’re going with them. You’re getting ready. Yes, I’m here, I’m in, I’m ready, let’s go.

The song ends with Joey saying “Welcome to ruin.” And that is exactly what this song is. An invitation to join them.
