Hadn't studied in ages!
I just make silly comics cause it's funnier. But I was explaining to someone that you HAVE to study from real life before stylizing. Otherwise you don't understand what you draw. It's why art teachers (the good ones anyway) tell you to not study from anime. It's a really minimalist style, studying from it only doesn't give you enough information about what a person actually looks like. Meanwhile, mangakas have drawn a LOT of life studies, and know exactly what they are doing with each little line.
Art school fucked me up but I miss the discipline a bit, in that context I was able to push things way further than my lazy ass does on its own.
