Do you have any fun facts about the VAs?
Yuichan (Minori) did the motion capture for the original project diva
Akina (Kohane), Ueshama (Honami) and Furirin (Airi) are both good at drawing. Akina does drawings whenever she appears on after talk streams
Tokishun (Rui) and Daichan (Tsukasa) also play characters in the same theatre troupe in A3!
Tokishun adlibs Rui's dialogue quite a lot. I think he said somewhere that sometimes he does this to mess with Daichan but I don't remember where that's from
Ueshama is left handed
Yuichan has a psychology degree. Mayushii (Haruka) studied law at university.
Ueshama has two cats. Honchan (Shizuku) also has a cat. Yukki (Shiho) has a pet bird. Yuichan has three dogs. Daichan has a dog that he posts about a lot on his socials. Ruirui (Mafuyu) also has a dog). Hiichan (Mizuki) has two dogs
Hiichan and Furirin both voice characters in Love Live! Sunshine!!. Furirin plays a main character, Ruby, and Hiichan plays a secondary character, Leah. They have a center song together called Awaken the Power
Furi likes 80s music a lot and her discography and most of her music videos are based around that era. She also writes the lyrics for some of her own songs.
For a long time Furi's twitter bio was "149cm tall voice actress". She later added "with pink hair" to the bio (since she had pink hair for a while) before rebranding her account for her music career
Furirin is Rubychan from the nani ga suki (Ai♡Scream!) meme going round at the moment I feel like I should mention that. She also had mint chocolate chip-themed nail art on broadcast station last month
Tomoriru (Kanade) was student council president in middle school
Fumiyan (Akito) can play guitar
Akina is a fan of the Star Wars and Spiderman movies. She also likes some popular western musicians and occasionally covers western music on her youtube channel
Akina used to use the stage name Chuna Cho and later just Chuna. She then switched to Akina which is her real name.
I'm pretty sure Furihata Ai is Furirin's real name, but I'm not sure about the rest of the cast
Jiena (An) was a big fan of disney channel shows, especially Hannah Montana, as a kid
Itoken (Toya) can play guitar. He has done an acoustic self cover of magic number
Hinachan (Emu) got married in 2023. She's the only main cast member to be married (Asami Shimoda (vp for the Kagamines is also married)
Ruirui likes kani miso. Evidently a lot since her twitter handle is rui_kanimiso
Yukki and Hiichan have known each other since elementary school due to both being child actors at the time
Jiena is qualified to teach english at elementary school level
Jiena is half filipino
Furirin is 4 french fry tall

How likely is it that en sekai will botch Mizu5. Not as in like their usual spelling and grammar errors but like. They might genuinely mess up the story because they’re “not allowed to translate it like that” or something else? I’d be absolutely devastated if they did that because her identity is a major part of her character.
it's something i am a bit worried about because of their whole thing with they/them mizuki. it's not really something that works that well with they/them ambiguously gendered mizuki. i've said before how using she/her is what would make most sense for ensekai, she presents as female so by default characters who aren't portrayed as transphobic bullies should use she/her. annoyingly this was never really an option because even before the backlash that made them switch to exclusively mizuki's name or they/them when necessary the official statement was "whatever the other characters view mizuki as" which apparently translated to 'only kanade uses she/her and also ena that one singular time that was probably a mistake'.
like path of thorns hinges on the reveal to ena that mizuki is a trans woman. all of the dialogue from the bullies is stuff like "are you[cis girl ena] secretly a boy as well, why else would you be friends with mizuki" and "we're just messing, we knew you were a real girl [unlike mizuki who was born a boy]" like the trans woman reveal is everything for the last few chapters. that just doesn't work the same way if we go into it from the ensekai perspective of ena apparently viewing mizuki's gender as ambiguous. everything builds to that reveal of mizuki being a trans woman, but on ensekai ena is out here they/themming mizuki giving the impression she doesn't know what mizuki's gender is, or assumes she's nonbinary, which recontextualises that entire scene. like if ena already had these assumptions that mizuki might not be cis that card wouldn't be like that. that card is mizuki's POV of ena seeing her from an entirely new perspective, reevaluating everything she knew and putting the pieces together. LIKE ON ENSEKAI ENA ALREADY ASSUMES MIZUKI ISN'T CIS. THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING. IT'S A STORY ABOUT MIZUKI GETTING OUTED AS TRANS IT DOESN'T WORK IF THE PERSON SHE'S GETTING OUTED TO WHO ISN'T MEANT TO KNOW ALREADY KNOWS SHE IS TRANS. sorry it's 3am i can't word it better.
ensekai just shot themselves in the foot as soon as they decided to use anything other than she/her. the story literally doesn't work in english unless the characters are explicitly viewing mizuki as a woman. like ik pronouns=/=gender but we're talking a product that ensekai went super hard on trying to market to the general audience it's she/her or nothing for a female character. they/them has never made sense for mizuki's story since it implies everyone already is unsure of her gender/assumes she's Not Cis, which completely undoes the narrative of mizuki ACTIVELY HIDING HER TRANSNESS FROM PEOPLE. that is her WHOLE ARC.
ensekai could directly translate path of thorns word for word but it's gonna drop the ball as soon as they get to the bullies talking about "mizuki being a boy and ena being a real girl" because MIZUKI HAS NOT BEEN DEPICTED CLEARLY AS A GIRL ON ENSEKAI. even before the swtich to they/them only they were operating on "whatever people view mizuki as" like they've always treated her gender as ambiguous which admittedly jpsekai kinda did too (? in bio) but japanese rarely uses gendered 3rd person pronouns so it works in that game. you can get away with no other character gendering her for 4 years. english doesn't work like that you have to use gendered terms. if you pick the neutral ones that generally connote 1) someone you don't know the gender of or 2) a nonbinary person, it gives the impression that every other character in the game doesn't view her definitively as a woman.
like i think they'll just leave it intact when TLing but like they cannot keep they/themming her after classmate A or whoever literally confirms that mizuki identifies as a woman. and even if they frame it as a "now mizuki's out we'll be using she/her in TLs" it still removes so much from the original story that they had been depicting her as ambiguously gendered from the eyes of other characters until now. sorry if this is a mess as i said it's literally 3:30am

So we know Haruka is stronger than Akito (and Tsukasa ig) but where exactly is Emu and her cartoonish strength in the ranking? I don't remember if sports festival confirmed or denied Emu being stronger (or at least faster) than Haruka :,D
emu competed against mafuyu in the school festival relay race and won, she was haruka's teammate for the race. the thing is with emu is that she's basically a walking talking cartoon. she canonically makes cartoon faces like >w< she can just do that and no one questions it. her strength and speed depend on the moment and can only be measured on their own scale. she jumped off a roof that was probably like 10ft or more off the ground and didn't take fall damage or break tsukasa's spine when landing on his back. physics bends at her will.

The collectable wafer card edition of Kanade's What the Hanged Girl Saw 4* card uses a version of the untrained illustration that isn't used in the game. On the wafer card, Mizuki's dress has a different design. It lacks the buttons from the in-game card, has a more detailed skirt design, and a different collar design.

Which characters in prsk do you consider gnc?
Shiho is the very big obvious one that they even talk about a little bit in Mizuki's new years event. They've never really touched on it again after take the best shot but I'd also consider Toya to some extent. A large part of that event involves Toya modelling for Kohane and as part of that learning how to apply/style makeup (it's also specifically mentioned to be a women's makeup brand and the other contestants, well Ena's the only one we know but still, are all women). He really enjoys it and it ties in pretty well with his story of freedom and expression.

what are all the queercoded songs that have been covered in pjsk?
I'm not overly familiar with a lot of vocaloid songs but I know Villain has a transgender narrator and Shoujorei is about a girl who has a crush on another girl. Mikazuki Step is also a love song between two girls. I've heard that Telecaster B-Boy is about a transgender person but I don't know how true that is. GimmexGimme is about an affair between two women but we don't talk about that cover. That's all the ones I know of but obviously there's a lot of love songs or songs about sex that while originally about a het or nonspecific couple are covered by same-gender duos or quartets (Kiss the Villain and Romeo&Cinderella are two notable examples).

How well paced was leoni’s first arc and would you consider rwy as a good event? I’ve been seeing people starting to say that leoni’s first arc was badly paced and rwy wasn’t that good of an event and others saying the exact opposite, so I was wondering what is your opinion?
Resonate with you is a very very good event. It sets up the core themes of leoneed going forward, and remains the most important leoni event to date (it's most likely what will be used as the basis for their wle). When you consider their entire arc, mixed events included, I think the pacing is good as well. The first two events are pretty lowkey in terms of band stuff; there's practice sessions but it's all very casual, and the focus is more on leoni becoming close as friends again.
At the end of Honami's first event, Iori is introduced and invites Shiho to her band, Shiho then has Twilight Parade which builds on her feelings about that, as well as her relationship with Leoneed. TwiParade also sets up Ichika wanting to improve her singing and performing for the band, which is built upon in her Singing Sakura mixed event. All of that culminates in RWY, which finally puts leoni in a situation where they have to choose if they want to take things seriously, or if they want to let go of Shiho again.
Genuinely I don't see why people think it's bad. The writing from the first year or two of the game is consistently strong, not just for leoni. That said I do think Leoni has arguably the best pacing in the entire game for their first two arcs. Their first arc may feel different from the others but that's like the entire point. They're just an after school band in arc 1 it's not until the very end of rwy where they start trying to become professionals. I think it tells us a lot about their characters as well. Saki and Honami weren't really interested in doing music professionally, Saki just wanted to do something fun and Honami had other aspirations, so their events are focused on their character. Ichika's main goal had been to reunite her friends, which she does in main story, so her mixed event is about her deciding to catch up to Shiho in terms of musical ability. Shiho is the one who had the goal of going pro, so she's forced to face the fact that Leoni doesn't want to go with her even though they're the only people she wants to play with. All of it comes together really nicely and once again rwy is literally the most important leoneed event. Thematically it's everything their unit and story is about. 4=1

Ichika and Kanade have been in every single one of each others mix focuses so far. Do you think this will continue to be true in the future?
probably not, they really should meet other characters

What is your favorite event story for each unit and each character?
there's a few events i haven't read yet but rn it looks like this
ichika: singing with you in a world where sakura dance
saki: first star after the rain
honami: courage to lead, kindness in my heart
shiho: that day the sky was far away
minori: dear me from back then
haruka: rise and strive
airi: chasing the radiance beyond the blue sky (retie friendship close second)
shizuku: at the end of the unravelled threads
kohane: kick it up a notch
an: whip the wimp girl
akito: find a way out or burn my soul i really cant decide
toya: the first concerto
tsukasa: towards the phoenix at the sky's edge
emu: choices for the future
nene: the canary sings in a quagmire
rui: a once-in-a-lifetime pandemonium
kanade: carnation recollection
mafuyu: reeling in the lights
ena: knowing the unseen
mizuki: next to the unchanging warmth
my fave for each unit is probably that day the sky was far away, first concerto, a sorrowful farewell at the curtain call, and knowing the unseen. my mmj fave changes constantly rn it's rise and strive but that might be recency bias.

Although it's more than likely an oversight on the part of the writers, I think the lack of relevance Shin'ei has in Akito's life could also be seen as a by product of the way that Ena and Akito are raised/treated Its been stated before by their mom that she generally does not tell them what to do and kind of just lets them fuck around on Shin'ei's end, although he cared a lot, the fact that he and Ena barely spoke to each other for a while indicated to me, at least, that Shin'ei definitely has an issue with communicating with people and at some point thought that going out of his way to keep talking to Ena about this would just make things worse, and his blunt manner of delivery probably wouldn't help with how personally Ena tends to take things. So, that leads me to believe that the Shinonome parents generally raised their kids in a really relaxed manner, and Shin'ei tends to distance himself a lot, so if Akito already grew up without feeling much attachment to him, then he's just not going to be that relevant to him at all. There's nothing about Shin'ei that interests him much, compared to how Ena felt, and Shin'ei just respected that and went along
yeah that's pretty much canon with what we know about how they were parented. akito's the type of person to get very very attached to something once he's into it, first with football and then with singing, and he only gets into things he thinks he has some sort of ability in (which is why his weaker singing ability causes him so many problems). like "i have to be good at this and give it 1000% or it's not worth it and what the fuck am i doing with my life" type shit. he's said that he isn't particularly good at art nor does he have any interest, and shinei is sorta similar in that he's only interested in his specific field and nothing else so i think akito and shinei mutually not involving themselves in each others lives makes a lot of sense.

different anon speculating new years. yes this is very far out but i've thought about the NY event and the last 2 events had a sort of sibling theme behind them. akiyamas, hinomoris, and tenmas kindof got pooled into one event (read the stories if you disagree). then the next year featured the shinonomes at the forefront.
emu is one of the last characters to not have a NY card, a 3rd mixed focus, and her siblings are very relevant characters, so i think it actually has a fairly decent chance of being emu as the banner lead. by that point she'd probably be a good lim candidate too, but it's rather far out so. shrug
that could work actually, the lims do line up fairly well if we assume she's the anni 3*. that'd be 8th lim on either the july 7th hakolim or potential august wxs hakolim and 9th for new years. hinata was actually a side character in tsukasa's new year event and shousuke probably has enough development but an event with keisuke would be nice, he feels like the least developed sibling. in terms of other characters who don't have new year cards yet who have siblings there's shizuku and minori, if not you could go for an only child like ichika or kanade.

In addition to Rui’s gayliner, Mizuki also has pink eyelashes.
Tumblr media
I wonder, are they naturally pink like her hair, or did she dye them on purpose? Personally, I’m leaning more towards the latter, considering how she had them even before transitioning.
It's natural, she has it on her child model and her sister has it too
