Does anyone else find it weird that these rich af Black people barely out money into black communities? I'm sorry but Opera, can you send some money to Chicago and not some random African village. No that doesn't mean I dont want these areas to proper either but they are always an area that cannot build infrastructure with the money given. So in the end, no one actually profits
Let me ask you something very important, what are you doing to give back to the black community? If you ask me that question I would tell you that I volunteer for a non profit that seeks to help young black girls recover and prevent sexual abuse. Every election season I join the efforts to reduce black voter apathy. I’ve been to the marches and the protests and the die ins, not just seen them on TV but was right there in the mix. You may have noticed I dedicate a lot of my time and energy and effort writing about black issues. I’m writing a book about racism, I’m trying to go to an HBCU, I’m in a black sorority that constantly does community based work, the list goes on. So what are you, as an individual right now, doing in your life in your free time to help bring up the community around you? Do you volunteer? Do you coach? Do you donate? What do you do offline in the black community?
I say all of this because it’s really easy to look at black People with money and ask why they don’t do more when in reality they often do a lot more than most of us, and they should because they have the resources to do so, but 90% of the black people I know don’t do anything offline to actually improve their community. There are things that you can do right now, with no money, to help your community. The burden is on all of us and most of us are not carrying our weight.

a magician asks you to pick a card - any card, in fact. you do. they ask you to put the card back in the pack - anywhere in the pack, in fact. you do. they walk away. ten years later, your wife gives birth to the six of clubs. “is this your card?” the midwife asks, in a familiar voice.

people with psychosis deserve more support tbh
im here for people with short psychotic episodes
im here for people who are always psychotic
im here for people who are unsure if they are psychotic or not
im here for people who struggle with reality and delusions
im here for people who stop talking to people for days or even weeks because they are so paranoid
im here for people who have to deal with people casually throwing around the words “crazy” and “psycho” (who arent reclaiming it)
im here for people who are constantly doubting if what they are seeing is real or not
and im here for people who have lost friends for having a “scary” mental illness
i love each and every one of you and you are all amazing. you all dont deserve the stigma you get. stay strong,, you’ll pull through this.
